Used 2006 Honda CR-V LX 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Great little suv
Presently I have over 200k miles, I have had few issues with this car. Replace the exhaust sensor, bulbs, and breaks. Dashboard illumination, headlight "on" warning audio no longer working. It is otherwise a highly reliable car. Drives like new.

Econobox
I bought this vehicle mainly for its fuel economy and low ownership cost, and it's ok in those regards. However, I'm disappointed by its rough ride, noisy engine and cabin. I find the controls and interior details annoying. For example, the accessory power stays on only when the ignition is on, making it impossible to keep a cell phone charging overnight. The window lock on the drivers side prevents even the driver from operating the windows. You can't lock the doors with the remote unless all the doors are closed and if you unlock the doors remotely and don't open a door right away, it locks itself again. Honda, stop trying to protect me from myself -- it's annoying!

wished i would have stayed with ford
has been in shop 11 times in 14 months, 7 trips re brakes alone, replaced rotors and pads front and rear at 18,000 mi, rear axle hub at 14,500 [warped], cv joint front at 38,000, still has vibration, only new car in 25 yr of marriage and we are disappointed beyond words. honda's "TUDE" is "we dont make mistakes, it must be your driving style"plan on replacing this summer
Terrible Ride
Ride is extremely rough, reminiscent of older trucks with poor suspensions. This sole attribute makes the car not worth it. Accelerating and handling is a jarring experience. Too much body-roll in the corners, making the car feel unsafe. Car can lose traction in wet conditions and in highway maneuvers. Braking feels harsh. Brake pedal has too much dead space. Poor fuel economy (around 17MPG) despite efforts in keeping RPMs low. Interior is too utilitarian. No heated or leather seats despite high asking price. Poorly designed infotainment system. Ugly designed gauges. Interior lighting leaves much to be desired. Cup holders are useless. Plastic cabin is of poor quality and makes the experience feel cheap. Center tray isn't very useful. Rear seats don't fold completely flat. Uncomfortable and hard seats. Good space in the interior. Trunk space is superior. Handling is sharp and agile. Steering is light and nimble. Acceleration is good decent despite 9 second 0-60. Fun to drive, except for the ride quality. Car is built well. Haven't had any reliability issues.

Overall very good with a few annoyances
Overall, this has been a nice little SUV. The paint quality is sub par; it seems like new scratches appear every day. Also, for an I-4 engine powering a Civic platform, I expected better gas mileage than what I get, which is usually about 20 around town and never better than 23-25 on the highway. Other than that, it drives well, it's comfortable, it carries everything we need it to carry, and it is reliable. This is one we plan to keep until it is "driven into the ground."
