Used 2005 Honda CR-V LX AWD 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
CRV Interior Poorly Built
I bought my CRV brand new in July, 2005. It was in the shop 3 times for the first month for an alignement problem. In addition, the interior of the car seems to be poorly built. I hear noises from the panel and the door, like there is something loose, or the whole thing is just made of cheap plastic. I took it to the dealership and first I was told there was something loose in the transmission. The noise remained. Then Honda told me there was something loose inside the door. The noise remained. Now I hear another rattling noise coming from the other side. Where are they building these cars???
Saved My Life
Had a hard side-impact collision (T- boned by a pickup truck) on 7/30/08. Car was totaled; I was not injured. That's good enough for me. I'm buying another CR-V. I bought it for the safety and I'll buy another one for the same reason.

2005 CRV Rear Differential problems
Great car except at about 12,000 miles I started to have rear differential problems. When sharp turns are made at very low speed the rear end vibrates and shakes, and there is a clunking sound. Took it to the dealer. First they said i wasn't driving it enough. Then said there was a TSB saying that there was a lubrication problem with the clutches in the unit. Said they fixed it. Got worse the same day I drove home. I think its a defective differential, the screen filer inside is clogged, or oil needs to be changed, manual says 60,000 miles, probably should be changed once a year. Couldn't sell the car with that kind of problem. Still under warranty two years and 20,000 miles, back to Honda.
AC is a money pit
2004,2005,2006 AC units are so bad Honda had to settle a lawsuit regarding this piece of junk. Do not buy a used Honda CRV unless the AC unit has been replaced, it will cost you $1400.00 bucks to replace it. Eventually you will have to if you drive it over 50,000 miles that is about how long it will last.
Best SUV for the money
I love my new CRV. I sold my mustang GT so that I can drive my newborn son around with me. The babyseat never fit in the mustang, not to mention i had no trunk space whatsoever. The CRV has been a blessing for my family. We zoom all over town, while getting great gas mileage. I opted for the Blue LX version, and I put in leather interior (baby formula proof) and I ordered much cooler after market rims. My truck is very sporty looking now. I am very happy with my CRV.
