2004 CR-V
I traded in a Tahoe for the CR-V mostly for the better mileage. I'm getting 21 in town and 27-28 on the highway. I plan to upgrade the standard cloth seats to leather because that's what I miss most about the Tahoe. I'm impressed with the sportiness of the CR-V, and I like the ability to customize it with OEM and non-Honda parts.
Comfortable ride
Great car. First non-American car I have owned. Using the shift takes some getting used to, I have turned on the windshield wipers often instead of putting it in reverse! Seats are comfortable, roomy interior, smooth ride.

Great Little SUV
Easy to drive and economical. No problems in two years of local driving. This is our third Honda and I would recommend it to anyone.
Fun, peppy, spacious
I found what I was looking for in the CR-V: reliability, economy, multi- functional space in a sporty design. I bought a 2001 in 2003 with 58,000 miles and have never had any malfunctions. The only time I'm in for service is for routine maintanence. It is used like a sedan mostly with 2-3 of us riding. Ocassionally it is loaded like a truck for camping or other trips and it always handle well, no matter what the load.
Short of expectations
Styling and driving pleasure are the strong points but gas mileage and build quality are way below Honda's usual efforts. Mileage averages 17/21. Lowest has been 16/20. Never over 19/23. Dealer says that's normal and won't note the complaint on a work order. Door and both side mirrors rattle/shake at hwy speeds and there's a rattle in the dash. Mirrors have been tightened twice. Radio is horrible. If this were a Kia I'd rate it a 7 overall for having exceeded my expectations. But it's way short of expectations for a Honda. I wonder if assembly in England could account for the poor build quality as I recall the poor quality of MG, TRiumph, etc. Fun to drive, but I wouldnt want to own one.
i love my crv
this vehicle handles with ease in all traffic situations.....it is roomy and great for carrying items too big for cars....it is a wonderful vehicle for traveling..... it is easy to load and unload with out bending or stooping.... this is the 4th crv i have owned....i would highly reccomend one
Three problems
This is my third Honda. I've been surprised at the decline in quality. 1) Increasing number of rattles (still under 6,000 miles). 2) Extremely uncomfortable front seats - cannot use for commuting or long trips. 3) The "fire issue" - my first oil change at the dealer resulted in a "double- gasket", an oil leak, and smoke (but no fire, thankfully)
Vibration
Vehicle came with front end-steering wheel vibration. Balancing tires didn't get rid of it completely. Tailpipe rusting. Side windows vibrate during cold weather. Hard to see out of rear window due to back seat headrests. Little inside storage space. Zippy drive but too many initial problems for a vehicle touted for its quality.
Honda CRV EX
Love the car just needs a few improvements. 1. Gear Shifter gets in the way of radio making in hard to reach programmed radio buttons. 2. Road Noise. Sometimes sounds like a window is open. Try opening the moonroof feel the air come thrrough the electric window openers on the drivers side door. 3. Radio could sound better. 4. small glove box.
Good as advertised
Replaces 13 year-old Accord. Honda quality remains the hallmark of this vehicle. Could lose the cassette player and road noise. Needs more comfy seats. Otherwise, good reliability, economy and performance.
Long distance travel
Rather unconfortable after 2-3 hrs, becomes more so the farther you go. Seats and backs too firm no lateral support.
I Rave For Rav
Lot more get up and go than the Toyota Rav. And seem's quieter. But a little bumpy on rough roads. But tested them all and seemed the best for the price!
My Honda CRV
I absolutely love my CRV. I had a car before I got my SUV, and now I will never go back. The CRV has great gas milage and is so comfortable. I drive every weekend a total of 4 hours and I love my ride home. I will always have a Honda. Thanks
2004 Honda CRV - another problem
My AC went out around 45000 miles, brakes 46000, check engine light now coming on at 60000 miles - the fix is over $300. I've owned 4-5 Honda sedans and now this CRV. I've never had this many problems with a Honda. Part of the AC was covered by warranty. Nothing else. Beware!
fun suv
I have owned a few suvs and had a lot of fun with them all. they all had V8s and got bad gas mileage. They all did very good off road but i do not do 4 or 5 thousand miles off road driveing any more so the CRV is just what i need.
all around good SUV
Just bought a brand new '04 CRV EX. Did a lot of comparisons b/w CRV, RAV4, Mazda 3 and Subaru. wanted a long term keeper of a car with great gas mileage. So I chose the CRV. I love everything about the car except for the low gas mileage. Highest so far was 200 miles on a full tank.
I Love my CRV
The vehicle is extremely fun to drive. It has been wonderful in bad weather. The vehicle has a lot of storage room and our family of 4 fits in the vehicle very well.
Reliable, Solid, but not comfortable
I really like how well this car performs and how solid it feels. Superb fuel economy, solid engine, trans... BUT, it's not really comfortable. The seats are hard and awkward. Honda needs to put more foam in those seats.
CRV
Fun to drive, great in the snow. Only complaint is the road noise is a little high.
THE PERFECT SUV!!
I did a ton of research on SUV's before I bought this one--it was between this and the Toyota Highlander. However, it gets better crash scores and mileage than the Highlander!!
C R Very Cool
Love it! A small SUV that feels big with great gas milage.
robs review
a great car and i would allways reccomend for someone to buy it, its also a great deal
Much Research ... One Answer ... CR-V
My wife and I bought the CR-V after extensive research (for about 15 months). There are a lot of good choices out there for a small SUV and it isn't easy to find which one is best for you. We use our vehicles for commuting to work and to see friends and family. We don't need something that will break land speed records or tow a house. There is plenty of power and room, interesting features, and a lot of safety built into the CR-V. If you keep your vehicle on pavement and use it for everyday tasks, the CR-V is TOUGH to beat.
dependable
this vehicle is well equipt and very dependable especially during winter time. Comfortable and safe to drive. Highly recommended to everyone who is thinking of buying an SUV.
lucky me!
After years and years of many boring Accords, I can finally say I love my car. The CRV is such fun to drive. It's so responsive, not "trucky." And it's a whole lot more peppy than any Accord I've ever driven. The gas mileage is just bit less than the Accord.
A Keeper
Bought brand new. Always follow recommended maintenance and have had zero problems. None at all, still going strong at 105k. Mileage has stayed between 25-28 mpg, very good interior room for its size. Drives nicely for a SUV. Original tires only lasted for 27k, but not the CR- V's fault. Plan on putting a lot more miles on it.
4 wheel'n
The fuel is the only problem I have with it, but this is the first SUV I've owned
Great Value in a small SUV
Great Vehicle! After getting my Honda accord up to 235,000 miles, it was time for an upgrade, and the CRV fit the bill perfectly. Drives like a car, but plenty of room for camping gear, and we love the way the rear seats fold down. Honda's quality and reliability show here, and we love the "real time" 4 wheel drive that kicks in only when you need it, great to drive in snow. Great mileage, but I wish the gas tank was bigger. All around great value..and "waiting list only" at the dealership!
I' m happy
This is my first suv. I am very happy. Just big enough, yet not too big. Plenty of interior space. Gas mileage just ok.
Another satisfied Honda Owner
The CRV is easy to drive. Handling is excellent, better than most SUV's. Great amount of vision out the front. Plenty amount of room for five adults and suitcases. The best buy for a SUV. There are a few things I don't like, rear seat head rest limits vision out rear window. Stereo is far reach for someone of average height.
Honda CR-V rate 8 out of 10
I bought my honda crv ex AWD 1 month ago, and it's not so great as other reviews, Pro's: great engine, fun to drive, Con's: bad windshield with distortions on the right side, bad off road capabilities, bad gear shift handle on the way of radio, bad seats very tight.
Roger's Ride
I love my CRV! It's my 3rd one.
My BABY!!!
First off, Honda's ROCK!!! My wife has a Civic, now I have a CR-V(I actually wanted the Element, but my wife hates the look)....I have only put 50 miles into it and I already love the damn thing! You can easily fold the seats up and literally roll 2 large bikes into the back without even turning the front wheel. That along with a surfboard rack and I am ready to go on my days off. I will hold onto this when we have kids because of the safety rating. You don't need the extended warranty since Honda's don't start wearing down till 100000 miles anyways.
our cars
We currently own two CRVs and we love them.
CRV EX
Its clearly the best in its class .. worth the money !
MY CRX
What more can I say "it's a Honda". Zero defects on delivery. Fun to drive. Great on gas for an SUV (25-26 mpg) Handles well on ice and snow
Honda CRV EX
I just bought this Honda CRV and I am in love with it. It is so comfortable and fun to drive.
GOOD VALUE
The CRV is a good value and it does what is advertised. It is meant to be a practical vehicle and it is.
Excellent
Everything about this vehicle is great. I have not had one problem with it. I am in the Military and in Germany, I average 100 mph on the autobahn. It handles great. Gas mileage is outstanding. It is a little noisy but nothing that is annoying. The vehicle is roomy, quick and comfortable. Traded in a gas hog (Chevy Tahoe) in for it. My wife and I are glad we did. I recommend this vehicle to anyone
Honda CR-V
The Cr-V is fun to drive...tight and very responsive to the road. Quality is evident throughout. The rear is easily accessible and plenty big for hauling items from general shopping errands to small household projects.
Hondas are great!!
I purchased my 2002 Honda CR-V in May 2002. It is a fun vehicle to drive and is a great winter vehicle. Last year I drove it from NY to SC and it was a smooth ride all the way.
Almost 4 yrs later and going strong.
Have leased this vehicle for nearly 4 yrs now and it's been pretty good! No mechanical issues or anything and at 42K miles it's still going strong. We are upgrading to a new 2009 Pilot and I'll miss the zippiness of my CR- V! What I won't miss is the discomfort of the driver's seat. I can't get any lumbar support and the seats just seem small. My son sits in his car seat forward facing in the back passenger side and therefore the passenger seat needs to be nearly all the way forward in the front, total pain. Love all the cargo space!
2004 cr-v
Ran great for the first 40,000 miles. Fun to drive, great in the winter (central NY).
A diamond in the rough
Extremely smooth ride. The gas mileage is great. I have only had this vehicle for a month and it's getting a 26 MPG average in the city. The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of room in this vehicle. The handling is excellent. It is an SUV but it feels almost the same as driving a sedan or coupe.
great car but i have a few issues
Very nice. Doesn't get promised mileage, more trips to gas station. Speaker makes a tint sound and Honda finally agreed to replace it but it will take months to order. Windshield ding from rock was not even noticable but became a crack which grew every few days. Honda recommended factory glass, said only $100 more than non factory but i pressed for a price and it turn out to be a lot more for factory glass. $255 versus $600. Went with Non-factory and it looks identicle.
It's great for what I need.
Just bought my CRV and I'm really enjoying it. Don't like the heastation on shifting from 1st to 2nd and I wish the cruise control buttons, on steering wheel, were lighted. I love my CRV!
Excellent Mini-SUV
I actually have the 2-WD by choice - I don't need the 4-WD in Midwest. This may not be the vehicle for a tall person. But for those of you looking for a well made vehicle under 25K this is a very good vehicle. I love mine. I do occassionally wish for a little more comfort, but if I wanted to spend more, I could purchase a Pilot.
Balancing Fun and Function
I can't say enough about this car. It's fun to drive, very comfortable, and handles well on the highway and in city traffic. The interior space is ample, with a lot of cool features. The all-time four wheel drive is also very good to have, especially in Buffalo, where the winter driving can be a bit challenging at times. I've probably sold a few of these cars just by letting my friends experience the ride. Go check one out.
crv
Already got rid of it and bought a Mercury Mountaineer. Was very disappointed in it.
I LOVE IT!
I love my Honda CRV! I have owned a couple Civics prior to the CRV and I absolutely Honda's in general. I don't recommend any other make to anyone. My family is a Honda family: 3 Accords, a Civic, and my CRV.
