Awesome
I recently got rid of a 2004 Mazda 3 sport and I like the Civic much better. I am very impressed with the smooth ride for a car less than $20,000. The cabin is quiet radio is create, manual shifter is very smooth. I drive mostly highway and have been getting around 34 mpg.
Great car, un-Honda-like problems
This Honda is not unlike its predecessors in being a quality, reliable ride, equipped with only the most necessary bells a whistles to ensure repairs remain inexpensive. Overall, it's a quality car that is easy to drive with a above-Honda-average amount of pick-up. Comfort is an issue for the tall, as has always been the case. My only real complaint is that the interior materials seem cheap, easily showing scratches, wear, oil, and dirt. This is especially worrisome for any leaser. After a year of ownership, some parts of my EX look worse than my former 1991 Civic.
Great purpose built car!
I am completely enamored with my Honda. This is coming from a guy who had a jeep cherokee 4x4 as his previous vehicle. This car served me as well in San Diego as it did in the cold weather in Boston. Snow tires and a 5 speed manual made this car a joy to drive in the snow. The car started every morning regardless of how cold it was. Owners who complain about this car didn't understand what they were buying. The car is 20 grand brand new-one shouldn't expect Porsche-like build quality and materials for that price. Another unjustified complaint people have is the 'surprisingly low' mpg. This is what happens when sound deadening, airbags, and computers get added to a car.
awesome
This car is amazing . Great performance fun to drive .Also turns a lot of heads . Its sleek design sure has the kids talking about it as well the dealership cant keep the catalogs in stock . I was concerned i wouldn't like it as much as my accord but after a few minutes i knew the civic was truly a great car
Not what I was hoping.
Thought I'd switch to an economy car - this car won based on price/gas economy alone. It hasn't been worth it - I'd rather spend extra money on gas to have a car with some torque. The resale value looks great - will be moving up to something sportier in the 200+ hp/torque range. Not a bad car but it is the first/last Honda I will ever own. Realized its too vanilla for me. Didn't like seeing commuters driving them everywhere. Kind of a bummer.
