Used 2005 Honda Civic Consumer Reviews
Great Value / Solid Buy
This is not the first Honda we have owned. With Acura's and Honda's in the past this model lives up to the best our Honda's reputation. While slightly underpowered, a fair amount of road noise and seats that could go abit further back as the negatives still the positives overwhelm. Price, features, MPG, realibility cannot be beat.
Great car and fun to drive
I have not owned a car in about 15 years. My truck is a gas guzzler so I bought a civic. It gets great gas mileage and is fun to drive. Drove home in a rain/ice/snow storm recently and the car handled the icy road very well.

Get it if you want it
The interior needs to be updated. The radio/cd area is boring and lacks a fun design. The clear coat comes off easy, I already have a chip on my hood. Fun to drive, easy to customize. Needs a rear wing, and tinted windows. Low noise in the interior, good control, great on gas on the highway. No so much in the city.
Don't buy if you live in cold climate.
Everything is great about this car, except the climate control. I love the car, but the "heat" and a/c are very lame. It gets great gas mileage and easily holds 75 mph on the interstate. Fortunately not too much has gone wrong.
Civic sets the bar
This is a our commuter car (110,000) 108 miles a day, mostly highway @ 70mph. We get 35 to 38 mpg. We were pretty smart in 05 to get it then. I'm 6'1 and find it ok for the hour drive. My 16 year old twins hate the back seat but that is what the mini-van is for. Ok for quick hops. We have the autotrans (my wife's choice) and that takes some getting used to when braking. It automatically down shifts and feels like an additional brake. Before this Civic we had an 02 lx and it did the same thing. A feature? The 02 was never the same after the deer strike so we traded it in. All in all, great vehicle and we are looking at the 08 Civic lx - and the boys can't wait to get the 05
