Touring 1.5 EXL 2018

Alli Harlie, 06/11/2019
2018 Honda Accord Touring 4dr Sedan (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)
3 of 3 people found this review helpful

The ride is low. Takes some getting used to as I had an Accord EXL for 15 years no maintanence issues ever, and never issues getting out of front seat. Scuffed brand new rims within 3 weeks which dealer fixed under my wheel and rim insurance. *** Note: Touring has low profile tires which are easier to scuff*** But they handle well in snow and rain. Watch for those potholes!! I was VERY concerned about that but have since hit a few craters hard, with no issues so far. (phew) This concerned me and had buyers remorse for about 6 months. I’m used to the car a year later and enjoy my commute. Had front driver strut/suspension replaced due to “bottoming out” after a month owning. Dealer was great. Free loaner and made sure I was happy with repair. No issues. HUD area “squeaks” in hot weather. Needs a sugar packet between vinyl and acrylic screen! Dealer says entire dash needs to be removed. It needs a rubber spacer or something.....not taking my dash apart. Highway mileage 38-40 mpg open road no traffic.Fill up half as much as I used to with the 4 cylinder vs EXL-V6. Miss my old Accord but so far this one is great to drive and feel safer having the newer technology.

Have gone 1300 mi so far and every tank has been 30+, with best being 34.2. Pretty amazing for a car with this much power. Love the torque this motor has. This is my 11th Honda/Acura car and I think will be the best one yet. Some typical Honda road noise, but thats the trade off for some road feel. Tech is great, really enjoy the infotainment system! Highly reccomend!

A Very Nice Family Sedan with Many Upscale Feature

Lewisr, 09/20/2018
2018 Honda Accord EX-L 4dr Sedan w/Navi (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)
3 of 3 people found this review helpful

Our new 2018 EXL with Navi replaced a 2014 Accord EXL. The 2014 was the first 4-cylinder Accord we have owned and, quite frankly, we didn't miss the V6 much except when you wanted to accelerate very quickly. The new 1.5L turbo has about the same acceleration and power as the 2014, and is more than adequate for all types of driving. We have put about 1,000 mi on the new car thus far and are indeed impressed. The gas mileage is even better than the 2014, which was excellent. So far we are getting 36-37 mpg with a little city driving and a lot of highway. On a 140 mi trip on the interstate we averaged 39 mpg driving 72-73 mph. The new Honda is considerably more quiet in both around town and highway driving. It also rides better than the 2014 by a significant margin. There is much less tire noise. The handling is similar to the 2014, and the 2018 seems to corner even better than the 2014. The interior in the 2018 is very impressive and is more upscale. All of the electronic safety features work really well. The adaptive cruise controll is very intuitive and effective. The touch-screen and audio system is much more intuitive to operate and sounds better. The only feature we miss is the camera on the passenger side mirror, which has been replaced by the Blind Spot Information System (BSI). The BSI works quite well and is very effective, but the camera was nice to leave turned on when driving in city traffic. We are getting fond of the BSI, however, and the visibility out of the front and sides of the car is excellent, and an improvement over the 2014. Overall the 2018 is more of a luxury sedan. We really like the addition of memory seats, sliding driver seat on entry/exit, and built in garage door opener. As for the looks, we like the front portion of the car better than the 2014, but not the rear. The looks of the new Honda is growing on us, however. We have found no rattles thus far and the car feels very solid and is fun to drive. Our initial reaction is Honda has done a great job on the Accord. If it holds up as well as our other Accords, it will be a homerun.

Compared the 2017 and 2018 Honda Accords and went with the 2018 based on a few things. First was MPG, the 2018 is rated at 35 Highway vs 27 for the 2017. Sure, dropping to a 4-cylinder helped, but performance is just fine. 2018 has a LOT more leg room and storage since they expanded the wheelbase. Trim is nicer and technology is better. Gone are the rightside video cams - replaced with the blindspot warning signals. Radio/Navigation controls are much larger and more visible and easier to view. Overall, the 2018 won out over the 2017. My disappointment was I now have to buy PREMIUM gasoline so the MPG savings is eaten up by gas price increase. A bit disappointed with the connectivity to my iphone and the console. Some functions connect via bluetooth while others need a physical hard wire USB connection. That's just annoying. I like the lane departure function as well as the Adaptive Cruise Control which lets me set a speed and distance to the car in front of me - VERY nice on a highway full of cars. The radio/navigation display, though VERY large can be a distraction when you're trying to go from one thing (navigation) to another (radio). Lots of buttons to discern and takes your eyes off the road. Thank goodness for that lane departure safety feature! The auto climate control never seems to be happy. I set it at a temperature (70) and I feel cold air blowing at times and warm at others. Riding comfort is fantastic with the heated and COOLED leather seats! I run hot, so I REALLY wanted the cooling seats which pushed me over the top to go with the touring package. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and hope I get the 9+ years that I got out of my Honda Civic! ***UPDATE 5/29/18**** So I've owned this vehicle now for 7 months and put almost 11,000 miles on it. I lowered my initial ratings based on several issues. First off, this is a nice car, no doubt, but I am not in love with it. I do not fall in love with inanimate objects, so this purchase was based strictly on facts and creature comforts. I had high hopes for this vehicle, but after driving it for a while, I would NOT buy it again. My primary reason is this - the handling in inclement weather STINKS! It is terrible! The slightest slush/snow mixture on the road, and the confidence level of handling is gone. The adaptive CC and crash mitigation features basically SHUT DOWN with the slightest build up of snow/slush on the front sensor (and that happens frequently!) Once that sensor is compromised, you have warning sounds firing off continuously, and I have yet to figure out how to shut them off. The bumper sensors are also annoying. I can be stopped in traffic or at a light, with NO OTHER MOVING vehicles, and I'll suddenly get a warning of an approaching object! This happens frequently. I've also had a screen pop up a few times saying "Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem, See Your Dealer" for no reason at all. After a reboot of my car (turn it off and back on), the screen disappears and does not show up again. The rear back up camera is great as long as the weather is clear. Once there is the slightest rain, forget about using it as it's nothing but a huge blur on the screen. The suspension is also lousy. The thin "touring tires" take bumps and potholes like craters channeling those encounters throughout the vehicle. I don't know why it's so bad now as it seemed that during my test drive, it took bumps pretty well. So that wraps up my review update. I would definitely NOT but this vehicle again. It is clear that Honda does not have all the new technology under control and that really disappoints me. How can I rely on this technology to do what it is supposed to do, especially in a life threatening situation, when it can't even operate normally under regular circumstances? UPDATE 7/9/18 So after owning this vehicle for seven months I have decided to trade it in for a CR-V. I must say that based solely on my discomfort in the driving handling in inclement weather and the many problems I had with the technology features, moving to the CR-V was the BEST solution for me. As I said, the Accord was a very comfortable and luxurious car, but when it come to my safety and my relying on my vehicle to get me through bad weather, that trumps all. I know there are many Accord owners out there that probably love their vehicle, but I for one will never buy another! Living in the northeast, safety and driving in bad weather are key elements in making a purchasing decision when it comes to my vehicles. Unfortunately this was an expensive mistake I made, and I certainly learned from it. Honda still has quite a ways to improve their safety technology and "driver" assisting features, not to mention they need to relocate the radar sensor from way down in the front of the car where snow and muck just build up incredibly fast to a more sensible location higher up the grill. That was just pure stupid engineering.

Wiggle ride

2018 Honda Accord Sport 4dr Sedan (1.5L 4cyl Turbo 6M)
6 of 8 people found this review helpful

2018 Honda Accord 1.5 sport turbo. Day one drove form the dealership 20miles on the highway home. I noticed immediately the car wiggled on concrete highway it wanted to fall the grooves on the road. Call the dealer they said break the tires in about 500 miles. Had a second oil change 14000 miles tire rotation. Drove the car to Florida from Iowa on the return trip the rear tires cupped and bald. Took it back to Honda they said I need to rotate the tires more often I paid for the oil changes and the tire rotations of front for the lifetime of the vehicle. I talk them into replacing just two rear tires they wanted me to pay for them. Just had the oil changed again I'm at 20,000 miles move the rear tires to the front they are the new tires or newer. The alignment must be off they're scrubbing and they make a heck of a noise. So now I have to take another day off take it back to Honda so they can tell me that the tires need rotated or new tires need to be installed on at my cost. The audio system is garbage it randomly shuts off and turns back on my phone and my wife's phone sometimes work syncing up to Android carplay sometimes no problems sometimes nothing but problems. TPS light tire monitoring system is on constantly I get it to reset go a month comes back on check the air pressure fine but the light will come back on again. Very frustrated I always thought Honda had it all together. Car is red with black wheels and a 6-speed manual, fun to drive looks great the interior is pathetic cheap very cheap. I had a Nissan Altima SE v6 way better car without tire issues and everything worked. I think I'll be trading this in....

Super loud on highway, otherwise great car

This car would be 5 stars if not for the insane road and tire noise at highway speeds. I have the 1.5 Touring. I test drove this car extensively and thought the noise level would be acceptable. Boy was I wrong. Just got back from a 120 mile round trip on good roads where you could do 75 mph and I'm sorry to say that the road noise is totally unacceptable. I believe this is from the 19 inch wheels combined with the factory tires, as it mostly sounds like tire noise. There is no wind noise to speak of and no b-pillar noise like on by previous accord. I would say the cabin is generally quieter than last generation, but once you get on the highway that is clearly not the case. Crazy that there was no option for a 17 wheel on the Touring. My only other issue is that the Car Play quit working after a week. I did some research online and this seems to be an issue with the new model with no fix yet. Will be back at the dealership this week to see. Otherwise, the adaptive suspension rides great and the car is fun to drive. The sound quality of the stereo is significantly better than last generation, but you won't be able to tell on the highway.

Jerky Transmission!

RSJ, 06/10/2018
2018 Honda Accord EX-L 4dr Sedan w/Navi (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)
7 of 10 people found this review helpful

I was so excited to test drive the new Accord 2.0 Turbo with the 10 speed automatic...I finally got to drive it yesterday and boy was I disappointed. first of all, the car is very low which makes getting in and out a bit of a challenge - unlike the former Accords I owned which were pretty easy in and out. I was most excited about the new REAL transmission - I am not a fan of CVTs. But the new transmission is not at all smooth! From the first moment on the way out of the dealer lot to the road for the test drive, the transmission was misbehaving by jerking and "stumbling"...it felt like it didn't know what to do. After getting out on the road, things didn't get better, the acceleration was not smooth and there seemed to be a long lag before it sped up - it was not a pleasant driving experience at all. On the way back into the lot to park it, when I let off the gas, the transmission "stumbled" badly as it felt like it was shifting down through all ten gears quickly...not good. The car handles well and has a quiet ride but it does not feel spacious inside because you are sitting so low and seemed like there were a lot of blind spots. Maybe the car I drove had not been broken in or something was wrong with it, but I urge you to pay close attention to the behavior of the transmission if you test one of these....also, I noticed that the cover over the camera on the windshield that is part of the Honda Sensing system was broken or had come loose - fit and finish issues? Pay attention if you test this one!

Terrific luxurious feeling car with a bargain price tag. Technology is outstanding. Only mistake by Honda is not allowing buyers to choose the engine they want as an option, rather than offering the 2.0 only in packages that would put you well into Acura TLX money.

I'd owned two previous Honda cars and was very pleased with both of them. I've only had this car for six months and am totally unhappy with it. It has a squeak in the dashboard which, I've found out, is a known issue. Now the dealer is wanting to take the whole dash off which I don't think should happen with a new car. They've already had it one time for this same issue. Also, the display on the screen has gone blank twice, once while I was driving out of town and badly needed directions. Also, the voice dialing absolutely won't call the person I call the most from my car. How is this good? My old Honda CRV at least would do that. I think I've bought a very expensive dud.

Remodeled for 2918, lots of new safety features: improved back,up camera, lane direction, tells you when something is in the road, etc. Seats comfortable...heating and air simpler. Missing a disc player. Window visibility a bit less than 2013. I have only had for 2 weeks.

I drive a LOT of miles on the job but i wanted something nicer than another civic. I am a long time honda owner-this is my 5th. My last civic had 357,000 miles before it was totalled-it was almost like new. This car is great. Turbo 2.0 gives me 33 mpg, mostly open 2 lane roads, more on the hwy. I sacrificed some mpg but the acceleration, torque and handing (and looks of the sport) were worth it. The safety features are really easy to use once you get used to them and you will come fo rely on and appreciate them. The only minor downsides of this car, so far, is the fussiness of the bluetooth connection. It is harder to connect than it should be. Also, it is quite low. I don't know if it is a feature of the sport but it seems as low as my civic si. Everyone loves the looks and I so enjoy the engine, and the 10 speed tranny is so smooth and always in the right gear. Get in, hit sport mode and go find a twisty road. Such a fine car. All the features I could want. Quite luxurious. I am praying it is as reliable as my other Honda's-if so, it will be my fav. I fully recommend this car.

Noise Everywhere

My wife and I bought both 2018 Camry SE and Accord LX and this is how I can confidently write this review well. Both have good designs but both interiors are way different. The Accord’s driver seat is manual. Even my old 12 Camry LE (the lowest variant) has a power driver seat. Anyway, the interior design of the Accord is awkward in terms of the comfort. The cabin’s middle storage bin is placed low for both driver and passenger’s elbow to rest on. The Camry’s is placed exactly elbow level and aligned to the transmission shifter. The Accord’s cabin noise level is bad. You hear the road, the tires and worst, the cars around in the freeway making you fear of getting crashed. The dash and under the seat makes an annoying buzzing vibrating noise when I accelerate but never on humps/bumps and rough patches of road. I am guessing it might the nylon or plastic black ribbed wiring hose that may be loose and making a grinding noise as well. The rear seat is comfortable but the road noise and the shakes feel like rear cabin of a compact. On the exterior, Honda seems cheap by simply installing a hood stick rather than gas-filled hood cylinders. Again, even my 12 Camry LE has those cylinders on both sides of the hood making it easy to lift up.

I have driven the new 2018 Honda Accord 2.0 Sport approx. 1000 miles since delivery to me. Engine response is very good with minimal turbo lag. Gear changes are smooth with downshifting very easy. Gear ratios are well spaced. With respect to the braking system, it has good pedal feel with vary linear response. Steering response is great as is overall handling. Great rear seat room and trunk volume! Biggest negative is the information system. Due to a totally inadequate Owner's Manual, the information system is difficult to use. I needed to return to the dealer to regain tachometer function!! It's a fun car for the (sportier) driving activity but an overly complicated vehicle for general use.

Heater issues in cold weather

Karoly Horvath, 03/09/2019

I love the car but I'm not sure if I would buy it again, let's say I'm in neutral mode right now. I'm really happy with the ride, traction, adaptive cruise, and the display. I use the adaptive cruise all the time and it is a game changer for me, my ride is a lot less stressful especially in heavy or stop and go traffic. It has a few quirks (takes half a second to act if someone cuts in front of me and doesn't see a stopped vehicle if it didn't see it slow down before) but I love it. Traction control works great in the Minnesota winter; I need to watch it, so I don't get too aggressive and get into trouble. * Now the warning for people in cold climate. This year, I have been going through a road construction area, where we had stop and go traffic. The issue is around 0 F and below, the car heats up fine if I go at higher speeds (45 and above, I guess) but when I slow down to 15 mph, I see the bar on the temp gauge drop and the cabin temperature drop. Cold air blows out of the air-vents. I have took it to my local dealer and there the first guy was trying to blow it off but I pushed back. Then I found out from a different person that it is a known issue and Honda knows it. I called Honda a couple of days ago, hoping that they will fix this issue before next winter. If you live in cold climate area I could not recommend this car at this time.

Pros: Good gas milage, 36 mpg highway now. Have about a 100,000 miles on it and still runs well. Still good acceleration. Very comfortable. Looks great. Enjoyable to drive. Nice interior. Cons: Depending on road surface can be bumpy ride and excess road noise. Sits lower than my previous SUV. Slightly more difficult to get out of car. Passenger seat cannot be made higher. After 5 1/2 years some minor problems such as dome light sometimes doesn’t work, also recently I started the car and all the warning lights came on and stayed on but I could still drive the car. Took it to repair shop and mechanic reset it and now no problems. I have also had to replace two batteries. It may be because I live in a very hot climate. Also the metal shield under the car had to be replaced. At about a 105,000 miles multiple warning lights came on. Took it to Honda dealership who replaced the injectors and did some valve work for about 2,600 dollars. Getting less gas mileage now of about 31 mpg. Recently did a road trip from Arizona to Northern California with no problems.

Bought Brand New 2018 Honda Accord Sport

Test drove 2018 Honda Accord Sport and ended up buying one for my wife. This was our 4th Honda, we had good luck with the Honda brand and the reliability. We were going to buy the top rated Toyota Camry but decided to stick with the Honda. My wife drove it for 2 weeks, the car had 200 miles on it and it started driving funny, we brought it into the Honda dealer. The technician took the car for a ride and told us that he had some bad news, the brand new 2018 Honda Accord Sport needed a NEW TRANSMISSION!!! So much for Honda quality and quality control. They offered to replace the transmission, we told them that we bought a new car and want a new car not a refurbished car. They refused, very very dissapointed in Honda and the Honda brand. We now have a refurbished 2018 Honda Accord the we paid full price, NOT HAPPY WITH HONDA!!

Losing faith in Honda

Make sure you watch the hood for flutter. Took 2 Honda Field Reps to Correct the issue 5 days after driving it off the lot. Also the car has a bad vibration feeling in the drivers and passengers seat between 45 and 65 miles an hour. Honda says it’s normal due to the 19” 40 low profile tires. BS...Won’t even esacalte my request to repair or replace the car at Honda Corporate now going on 15 days to get someone from Honda corporate to call me back. My 2015 V6 coupe, which was the least reliable Honda I’ve owned, rode nicer than this one does..this is my 5th accord and most likely my last Honda. Shame since I’ve stayed loyal to the beand for the last 17 years. Update 03/11/19: Honda fixed the hood flutter and the vibration in the car at highway speeds. The dealership ended up performing a road force pressure test on the tires. After doing this test, they found two of the tires were out of balance and needed to be replaced. Michelin tried to push back on Honda for full replacement on the tires but Honda was having nothing to do with that. I've had the car 8-months now, 8900 miles in and it's running smooth and like a champ, like it's supposed to, for a Honda. Update 03/11/2020: The apple carplay works about 50% of the time. Took the car into Honda a few weeks ago and the tech had an older iphone than I have. I think he has a 6 or 7. I have an 8+. At any rate, he ran his iphone for an hour with no hiccups. My iphone, which is newer and has the latest IOS version on it etc. , still only works 50% of the time. It's a problem with the car itself. I saw in another credited automobile publication that electronics for the 2018 accord is worse than average. Sigh...........

I bought my car at Honda auto nation in Hollywood Florida, I was not told about the return policy because I would have returned it. Second day I bought the car the car door locks were unlocking and locking while driving, then I parked my car and it locked me out for five minutes. Then my touch screen blacked out on me 3 times in a row and rebooted while I was on the phone with the owner of my company, the Bluetooth is absolutely horrible static threw the text messages and phone calls. I have brought my car back 14 times for them to send me home and tell me nothing wrong with it. I meet with master mechanic and show him as he heard everything wrong with it and put me in a loaner that was disgusting and broken window I don’t advice you buy a car there

The dashboard panel and touchscreen will go out while driving. This has happened 4 times. Only solution service department offer is to do a factory reset. Update on touchscreen (Feb. 2020) Dealership has replaced touchscreen and it continues to go out while driving. I wish I could upload to this review a video I have when this occurs. Update: August 2020 Had to replace a 2nd touchscreen, backup camera had to be replaced and cell phone wireless charger replaced. Only have 24k miles on the car. The car also does phantom braking. It warns me to brake when nothing is in front of me. Blind side assist will activate when I pass mailboxes at slow speeds less the 25 mph.

The 2018 Honda Accord Sport really is a combination between beauty, safety and dependability. The vehicle exterior is made to catch your eye with it's curves and rims/tires that give it a real sports car look. Once inside it feels more luxurious with plenty of room for all family members. The seats are very comfortable and there does not seem to be a blind spot while driving. What really becomes somewhat fascinating are all the different bells and whistles such as lane control assist, braking assist and hands free communications. This vehicle has huge trunk space as well as a smooth ride with rapid acceleration which again can be changed from economy mode to sport mode. I urge anyone who is looking to buy a nice vehicle to schedule a test drive in the Honda Sport. It has something for everyone. Lastly but most importantly it is the SAFETY features that really make you feel comfortable. Air bags are placed all the way around this vehicle and upon an impact the computer system automatically contacts personnel who will call for emergency responders should they be needed. All in all this is the car of 2018. Just Perfect.

I got the 6spd manual and had the ECM flashed to the Hondata phase II. "Stage 2 tune showing peak torque of 375.8 lb-ft-a gain of about 80 lb-ft over Hondata's baseline figure. Additionally, the Stage 2 reflash adds 50-55 hp in the middle of the power band". It was fast before and now its faster! No torque steer, but the wheels slip some under heavy accelerating. I keep the tires 5 psi over so the ride is a little stiff. Gas millage is about 35 mpg at 75 mph. 0-60 is about 5.4 (faster for the Auto). Great thing about the stage II tune is you can press the eco mode and go back to day-to-day driving. Bad thing is you have to buy premium gas (I was told). Bottom line ... get the 2.0t and get the stage II tune for $450. Stage three has 10psi extra boost btw. I drive 65 miles each way to work so Iove the ride and Sirius Radio. Wish I had gotten the heated steering for Michigan winters.

Decent incentives right now, we were able to get ~$3k off MSRP. Love all of the technology built into this car. However, the biggest selling point for our family of four was interior room. I did months of research on the new Accord and nothing in this class really comes close. We downsized from a Honda Pilot so we were concerned about leg room and the loss of utility that came with having a SUV. While I do miss the auto opening and closing hatch on the Pilot, the roominess and overall comfortable feeling in the interior works very well for us. Almost seems like we have more interior room. I am 6'4" and can put the drivers seat all the way back and my 5' tall daughter still has plenty of leg/knee room. Love Love Love the 10 speed auto and 2.0 turbo. Never owned an Accord before so I can't compare my 2.0T to the previous V6 models. However, the transmissions works quickly and smooth and the car is much quicker than I expected it to be. My only complaint, and it is a small one, is I wish on the Touring trim Honda would have added the USB ports in the back console for the rear passengers. You can buy it as a add on at the time of purchase but it is not cheap to have it installed, so we opted not to do it. Should just be included. I am also scared to death of damaging these massive and beautiful 19" rims. I hope they hold up to these Ohio winters.

Overall, the 2018 Accord is better in almost every way. Almost. The cabin is quieter from before which wasn't offensive to begin with... The ride is a little more controlled, yet the suspension feels a little stiffer than the 2017 Touring I traded. The sound system is wonderful, especially for this price point. (450 watt 10 speakers....) The tech on this car is helpful too, from the heads up display to the larger graphics on the center console to the wireless charging to the Honda sensing as a standard feature! My gripes are the following... lower entrance and exit from previous generation and while the 2.0 is even more powerful than the outgoing v6, it's not as satisfying to listen to as the growel elicited from the v6.

Don't buy this car.. nothing but problems. It's a beautiful car but it's been to the shop 7 times. 25,000 miles front struts, 50,000 fuel injectors. Car's touch screen and displays turn of sporadically when driving. It shutters for 5 to 10 seconds when first starting vehicle like its not getting enough fuel have to give it gas when first starting. And just to warn people a front windshield is 1700$ on the touring model. And forget about driving it in the winter. The honda safety features will stop working if you happen to get 3 pices of dust on the sensors. I highly maintain this car and I think it's a pice of junk. All my other cars I've owned I've put over 250,000 miles on them easly. In fact the wife's 16 fusion has 150,000 on it and I'm just giving it's first brake job and the brake pads can go for another 15,000 easy. Save you money on this 40,000$ touring model.

This vehicle is not as sturdy as it's supposed to be, now at 17,000 KMs. The driver seat squeaks and I've taken it for service once and now 2nd time. The car rattles at 1800-2000 RPM and they can't figure it out I park near a hedge and Squirrels jump on this car and now it's full of scratches and paint chippings from squirrels! There are 4 other cars parked next to me and I also park my Toyota at times in that spot and not a scratch. So clearly crappy paint. Looking forward to getting rid of this car.

It’s been an ok car, just ok..... the dash squeeked and creaked in the driver corner of the dash on hot days when driving. Also the rear subwoofer would rattle the rear deck. It was a noisy car and annoying to drive because of all that. Eventually many visits later and the techs beefing up the padding we finally got it done. Replaced the sub that wasn’t it. It was basically the crappy trim level. Also when I bought it the door trim was coming up. The trim on the door that keeps the rain from falling inside the door. Now it’s squeals when I roll it up and down. The techs say give it a few months. I’m just over the trim level of this car. I have a 2016 touring pilot as well and it’s trim and detail is excellent. I’m disappointed with the quality in the accord touring. The leather stops at the seatbelt area and then it’s fabric. It feels cheap The shifter isn’t push button. It’s powerful yes but makes a whole lot of noise for no go sometimes. I do like the stereo it doesn’t scratch as easily as the gel screen in the pilot so I’d you’re wife has long fingernails this is the best choice.

1. Horrible turning radius. My wife’s Nissan Altima 2014 has a much better turning radius. During every single parking I have to go back and forth. 2. Very bad sound insulation. When it rains, you are going to have to turn sound pretty high if you are on the phone or listening to audio. 3. Backup camera becomes unusable in light rain. 80% of the screen will be covered by water drops/bubbles. I am surprised Honda did not test this, it’s pretty obvious and very bad. 4. Seats look good but comfort and stain resistance is pretty low. 5. Keyless entry is only in front doors. It really sucks if you use rear doors often. 6. Center glove compartment is pretty hard to reach/use. It’s pretty big, but once you open it with right hand, I have to twist and only able to use it with left hand. I don’t think there any big wins for this car besides good look/design.

I purchased the 2018 Honda Accord touring due to its reputation for reliability. It has been anything but. I’ve owned a lot of cars in my life and this one takes the cake as to the worst vehicle of ever had. Major major electrical issues brake issues rattles everywhere to the point where is embarrassing if you have a passenger in the car. I keep getting letters from Honda about extending the warranty on this part of that part due to not being made correctly. The road noise I have to keep a bottle of advil in car. Buyer beware

It’s the little things...

Jay T, 06/26/2020

There’s much to like about the Accord, but there’s also some things to dislike. The styling, technology, and performance for this class of car is nice. It’s also very roomy with decent gas mileage on long trips. There are also some negatives. The car needs more sound deadening. Around town the car is very quiet but on the highway or rough patches of road the sound from the road is tiring. It would be more tolerable if the sound system was decent, but it’s not. I’ve heard base econobox sound systems that sound better. Honda really needs to stop being cheap and team up with a brand to help them with this. I’m not sure if it’s just my car but there are times when the auto tranny isn’t smooth. It can be a little jarring going up or down in gears. There’s other times where it’s the smoothest transmission I’ve ever driven. I can’t figure out why. The last and final gripe is in build quality. There are squeaks and rattles in numerous places in the cabin. I’ve also had issues with trim pieces coming off and I have to reattach them. Also be careful raising the hood. It’s extremely light. I raised the hood (to fix a trim piece) and a light gust of wind blew the hood up and slammed the hood agains the windshield causing the brackets on the hood to damage the fenders. I like my car but wished I would’ve gotten the Mazda 6 instead. That car felt as if it has better build quality. I bought the Honda due to resell and room. Next time I go with my gut feeling

This is my 11th vehicle and 1st brand new car. I am so impressed at not only how pretty she is, but how she handles the road and stop & go city traffic. My LX takes a hill very easily and no lag! I am a busy mom and I love the acceleration and smooth ride. Beautiful colors to choose from as well. Quality is there. The only thing I would suggest, Honda, is to update better sound system, however that doesn't bother me too much. Other than that everything seems to be perfect. I'm driving the LX model and that's Honda's 'base model'. It is still quality with the alloy wheels, nice comfy seats, technology, lane assistant, huge trunk space, and back up camera to name a few. My kids are very very tall, and can get in and out with no problems. The ride is comfortable and smooth. My kids love it because of all the room in the back and the best thing, is I know how safe it is. Just look up Honda Accord crash test videos.

Really take the time to understand the details of the financials behind the car. Numerous dealerships were at very different price points that weren't even close. So do your homework. I suggest purchasing. I leased due to my situation but it is less than ideal. Purchase price should be at least $5k below MSRP or more. I have had the car for two weeks. Gas mileage and price for fuel is far better than my 2014 Mercedes E 350. It certainly doesn't handle as well or have the same pickup, but for the price I didn't expect it to. The technology in the 2018 model is great. Heated and cooled front seats. heated back seats. Apple car play integration, tons of great safety features (adaptive cruise control is my fav!) Comes with it's own nav system which isn't necessary, since you can just use waze thru apple car play. The 1.5 model doesn't quite have the pick up of the 2.0 but gets better gas mileage. Its up to you which trade off you want to make.

I have owned this car for 5 months I was excited and proud of my decision to go with Honda! similar to the other review i read BUT i bought it used. This car has been in the shop about 4 times. I am currently dealing with froggy rpm and stuttering when in park, at a stop or at a constant speed third time my warning lights have been on since owning the crap. I have replaced all coils and sparks, I am at the end with this vehicle. My first honda i have owned and i regret it 100% i wish i went with toyota or lexus. I am paying for a car that may not be okay to drive.. i do not recommend :/ so disappointed. ** It turned out the be the fuel injectors, something Honda has recognized and put out a recall for. The dealership charged me $$ to replace my brand new sparks. I personally felt it should have been free of charge due to the fuel injectors causing this misfire. I am still not happy with the car reliability thus far it has broken my presumed budget for a non luxury car, I may have just picked out a bad apple but, I will rid of it soon. Not sure if I’d ever get a honda again🙄**

I have had my 2018 Honda Accord on trips longer than 400 miles and average 38 to 39 miles per gallon. It handles like a sports car and is everything you can hope for in a car like the Accord. A great buy.

Handles and drives well. A few glitches with the onboard computer was the only problem. Spacious back seat. Car is good looking and very quick. One of my favorite cars of all time.

Recently purchased the new Accord. The interior is large, styling is nice and gas mileage is great. Only complaint I have is the steering. First off my wife drives a 2015 Accord that drives great and turns on a dime with little steering effort. My new 2018 Accord has stiff steering and requires an extra effort when turning. I spoke to the service rep at the dealer and he said that there are no adjustments that can be made to elieviate this problem. Hoping that the steering mechanism loosens up eventually.

Great looking car in and out...no extra bell and whistles that overwhelm you. This is my first budget car that I actually enjoy driving it. Even though horsepower spec matches my old 2.4L engine, my concern is the thought of a small 1.5L turbo on a big/midsize car.

I bought my Honda Accord two weeks back and have been driving to work on hiways and in the city. I love the way the car looks outside and inside. The infotainment system is very intuitive and that was one of the main reasons I bought this car over the 2018 Camry. I have been driving Toyotas all my life and was nervous and curious at the same time to make a change and by the Accord. Overall I am still making up my mind about the car, however there are a couple of things I am noticing that Honda may have to do something about it unless they are for all the cars and if that is the case it is not good. One: When I drive the car at hiway speeds, i hear a shrill screeching sound coming from the outside likely due to the aerodynamics of the vehicle and possibly due to the rear view door mirror. Second: Everytime I break the vehicle to full stop or near full stop and when I release the break paddle to press gas paddle, there is a clicking (or unclicking) sound from the break paddle. This is very annoying. Third: If I am using google maps on my phone which is connected to the bluetooth, then the music starts to play too. If I don't want to hear the music I pause the music so only the map voice is on, but after every new direction line item is announced the music starts again. I don't know how to keep the music off and only get the directions on. Fourth: There is a traction button, but there is no way to figure out if traction is on of off after pressing the button. There is no light on the button or on the dash that shows the status of the traction. Unless its malfunctioning or there is no such feature and only a button is provided, which does not make sense. These are some major flaws I have found so far. Other than that I think I am only getting used to the car and my driving position etc.

Unconscionable the quality of this mass production 4 door sedan. I owned Acura Legend, BMW 328, 4 GS Lexus ( GS 300/94', 400/98', 350/06', 430/2008 ). Pound for Pound, the new Honda 2018 Sport 1.5T is a STEAL. Plenty of handling, 80 MPH @ 2300, plenty of acceleration. 32.1 MPG on regular fuel. 19' inch Good Years, technology and my IPhone X compatible beyond. Stone cold winner, no wonder GM scrambling.
