Used 2009 Honda Accord LX 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Uncomfortable Seats
The seats in my 2009 Accord are so incredibly uncomfortable that I can't continue to drive this vehicle. Even though I will lose money I will have to sell this vehicle. The Honda engineers really missed the mark in this regard. In the past I have owned a 1985 Accord, a 1990 Accord, a 1995 Civic, and a 1998 Accord the seats in these years and models were quite comfortable. Have been told by Honda of America that the Honda engineers decided to redesign the seats and I should have gone for a longer test drive. Needles to say this once faithful Honda customer will no longer be buying and driving Hondas.
Poor seat design
I've driven the car for 2.5K mile and is still searching for a comfortable seating position. This never happen in any cars I've own before. I won't buy Honda anymore no matter how reliable it is.

The front seats ruin a fine car
The front seats are simply the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced. The lumbar plates that are part of the 'active head restraints' are the primary culprit but even with them removed the seats are still awful. I'm seriously considering trading this in after 5 months and 4,000 miles. Beyond this, it's a fairly solid car. But the fuel economy is disappointing. I'm only averaging 22-23 MPG with about 70% highway driving. At any rate, no matter how good the rest of the car is, you can't wait to get out of it at the end of every trip longer then 15 minutes, so what good is it.
Don't Believe the Hype...
Disappointed. Let's start with the good: Attractive design, excellent build quality, almost german-car like. Great handling. Reliability is fine. Now the BAD: Very uncomfortable seats, and driving position. Driver area is very confined and like sitting in a hole. Will never find a satisfying or comfortable position. Car looks good standing alone, but appears small and dinky next to other cars, even compacts. Rear-end design is ugly. 2.4L engine feels slow. Can't pass or merge to save your life. Rough idol, raggedy engine sound. Gas mileage not impressive. Gets 535 miles per tank, where Camry, Malibu, Sonata, get 600 miles/tank. Accord falls short on many fronts.
So far so good!
Have driven the car only 1500 miles and it's OK.Nothing exciting, just OK but that's Honda. Reliability is why we all buy them! Now to the brake problem that everyone is stating, mostly rear pads? Talked to American Honda today and they said a class action had started and they will be in touch with us all to fix the problem. Hope that helps!
