Reliable and fun
The vehicle is very well built. Honda dealer is like no other auto dealer, aimed to please. The way Handa prices the vehicle the dealer cannot easily "switch & bait" the consumers. The car is very well built. Engine (V6) is quiet and smooth with deceptively good acceleration.
Excellence
I've owned my Accord for 4 years now. It's only required the normal maintenance, with the exception of new brakes, front and rear. It's been a great car, and fun to drive. It's interesting to compare this with the first Accord I owned...a 1986 LX. I'd drive up into the Rockies at 45 mph, tops! This car cruises easily up the slopes at 70 mph, and isn't breathing hard. It has a sumptuous feel to it today, even four years after I bought it. I'd heartily reccomend an Accord to anyone who's quality conscious.

My Honda Accord
I got a wonderful deal on my 2002 Honda Accorda LX 4dr/4cy. Great gas mileage while on the open road; 33-36mpg, less than desirable in traffic; 15-20mpg. I'm hooked on its looks, have no idea why they changed its great looks, but who am I. Very quiet on the open road, the steering is right on the money, and the little four is able to tackle almost any size mountain/hill while in cruise control when the AC is off. Great overall car for the amount we paid for it $16,400 for a brand new one with 5 miles on it.
A great value
After months of researching sedans in the low-$20k range I finally decided on the Accord EX V6. I've never made a better decision in my life. It's the best car out there for the money(I paid $22k). It has decent power, a smooth ride, confident handling, quality interior materials, great seats, bland- but-tasteful styling and Honda's well- known reputation for reliability.
Can't go wrong with Accord
This is my 4th Accord. All have been excellent cars, little or no problems, even with the ones I bought used. The quality of the cars have gotten better each and everytime I have bought one. The new 2004 will be my 5th Accord. I drive in excess of 30,000 miles per year, with nothing more than an oil change. You can't go wrong with the Accord
Accord EX V6
The Honda Accord is a fun car to drive, that still accomadates my family with plenty of room and comfort. The engine performace of the V6 VTEC is great, especially after adding the Cold Air Intake system.
Good, but not perfect
In a nutshell, I leased for less than $300/month with zero down, a car that has almost everything I was looking for. V6 with decent power, leather but not ventilated or heated seats, decent CD player but not MP3, quiet but still too much wind noise. But I don't love it. I can't really explain why but it just doesn't grab me the way that my previous cars did even though it is the fastest and highest end car I've owned. Sad but true.
THE Car
This car is a delite to drive. As you can see by the miles, I really drive it. More support on the driver's seat and it would be perfect.
Very Disappointed
I've owned Accords for 21 years. THIS WILL BE MY LAST ONE! I've had the driver seat replaced 3 times. The cushion becomes crushed and leans to left. Honda refuses to fix it anymore. The drivers seat doesn't go back far enough, I'm only 5'10". What happened to your quality? Now small things are going. For example, overhead light doesn't come on when door opens, headlight warning buzzer and key alarm doesn't work either. The gas peddle is too high above the floor; very dangerous. Overall driver comfort/room is awful i.e. too narrow & arm resting on door lock knob(why the design change? That was dumb.) I'm already talking to the Camry salesman & will buy one.
Great Steal for low money
For clearance and way under sticker this car is great. Just bought for $5000 under sticker, because of the pending 2003 design change. Great pick up, interior confortability, as if your floating on clouds. Can't beat for the low price and dependability.
Great Car, Get the V6
Great car, has an amazingly smooth and quiet ride but still has alot of power and ok acceleration. The best interior design of its class. Great audio system. Fun to drive. Classy looks.
Excellent Family Car
Well designed and well built car. Powerful but wasteful engine (considering that it is a HONDA). Silk smooth transmission. The low rev torque is kind of inadequate. My old ford taurus has more low rev torque. Quiet ride on even road. Getting nosier on rough road. The toyota camry I test driven do not have this problem. The body is kind of dent prone. You should be very careful even when you are washing you car. One of the best value for family car. No wonder, it was the best selling passenger vehicle in 2001.
MY HONDA
Love the car, but would like the steering to be more like my 1986 Accords.
Foreign Cars Better
I like this car even though I am a Toyota lover. However, one can not help but fall in love with the power, features and leather seating.
Honda Accord
Very nice Car
As Good As They Say!
This is my 3rd Honda (2nd Accord). I haven't had any major problems with this car at all. The drivetrain has been perfect. Only routine maintenance and at 72,000 miles, she still runs like a champ. Oddly enough, the fuel mileage has gotten better with age. The I-4 motor has plenty of power. The ride is still smooth. I can see keeping this car for another 100,000 miles before I even consider selling it for another Honda.
Love this Honda
I have never owned the "best car on the road" before. Now I understand why Honda owners love Honda. Best car I've ever owned. Great engine -- more than enough power. Will never go back to American!
First time car owner....love this car
It has everything you need and everything you'd think of wanting. The engine feels like your in a V6 car. Its nice to find something with power items as a standard. Gets around great in city traffic. ABS may be one thing it lacks, but once you have one of these cars...you'll forget all about wanting them. The price was very well worth it and the dealer I went through was very friendly and honest. I recommend if you get this car, make sure you extend your warranty as much as you can. Its a great starter car for someone in college or fresh out of college. Once you try it, you will not want to walk away from it.
Peace-full Accord
There is no doubt about it, I must say that this is hands down the most reliable car I have ever owned! The Honda Accord is sturdy, powerful, and easy to drive. I have not yet had a problem with blind spots or failure of any kind. I would prefer it had a full spare, and a larger gas tank, however these minor issues do not at all deminish the aptitude of this autmobile!
My sixth Accord
This is my sixth Accord. My experience with all of them has been very good, mainly because they're predictable. I haven't had any problems. This one, a V-6 EX with leather, is fun to drive and more comfortable than any I've had to this point, and my lease rate is great. I could buy a more expensive car, but why? I love the quality, comfort and the styling.
Drive and Drive and Drive
I would say the comfort level of the vehicle is good. It is more for the non sport enthusiast. I drive for a living with at least a 2 hour commute. I have 83,000 miles on my 2002 Accord and have had my first repair of a wheel bearing just this week. I opted for the 100,000 mile bumper to bumper but I really didn't need it. I am a very big guy and it is sometimes a little tight as I spend 4 hrs at a time on the car most days. Also I can say this car is a fantastic value for the money. At this point I am just about breaking even on my value vs. financing value as I am considering upgrading to an Acura TL.
All Around Great Car
Its a terrific all around car for the money. Delivers more than it promises.
New Honda Fan
Great little car after driving 2 different minivans for 6 years. Gets great gas mileage, peppy little 4 cyl. engine, easy to keep clean, very sporty looking.
Best Car Most Features for Price
No blind spots! Like the power, esp. like that both front seats adjust automatically. Dash is easy to read & all functions are at your finger tips. Back seat is roomier than friends Lexus. Like ability to lock trunk, fuel, back seat & pass-thru when leaving car with valet key.
My Accord EX
This is a nice car. I'm really glad that I purchased it. I have the EX trim which is loaded with good features as ABS, Keyless entry, CD changer, Moonroof and side airbags. Although I do have some complaints. This vehicle has alot of sqeaks and rattles. The sunroof rattles alot when the sun shade is opened.
2000 Honda Accord SE
This is the best car I have ever owned. It's my first Honda... I will never buy anything but a Honda now!
Squeaks and rattles
2.5 year old EX-L with 29000 miles. The good: love the engine doesnt make a lot of power but riding single or with one passenger you dont really notice. Really nice 5-speed transmission. The bad: too many squeaks and rattles. The dealer has been cooperative, but a good dealer cant make up for a poorly put together interior. Gas mileage of 16/23. Front rotors warped at 15,000 miles. Seats feel uncomfortable on long rides and the low beam headlights are a joke. Overall, this could have been a really nice car, but falls short because of poor quality control. After 2.5 years of trying Ive decided to sell it and buy something else
Excellent Quality
I test drove the Acura TSX and the Acura TL before chosing this Accord with 21K miles. The TSX was a bit small and did not accelerate as smoothly as the V6 Accord. The TL is wonderful but a bit pricey and uses premium fuel. I chose the Accord with 200 HP & leather interior so I have an affordable luxury car with only 60 horses less than the TL. In average driving I won't miss the 60 HP. I considered buying a new Accord but the '02 had one owner will all the service records and price was perfect. I'm considering putting 17in wheels on it to replace the 15in that came with it.
UH-OH TRANNY PROBS :-(
I HAVE HAD THIS CAR 2 1/2 YEARS.ON VACTION IN JULY THE TRANSMISION STARTED SLIPPING AT HWY SPEEDS AND OVER THE COURSE OF A WEEK STARTED TO SLIP WHILE SHIFTING.THE TRANSMISION WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRENTY WITH A REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISION.I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER I WAS GETTING A NEW TRANS AND THAT HONDA NEVER USES REMANUFACTURED UNITS.WHEN I GOT THE PAPER WORK IT SAID REMANUFACTURED.WHEN I ASKED HIM HE SAID HE NEVER TOLD ME THAT EVEN THOUGH MY WIFE AND SON HERD HIM SAY IT.BUT THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT BECAUSE ITS UNDER WARRENTY.THIS CAR HAS ONLY 18,000 MILES ON IT.ITS BEEN A WEEK WITH THE NEW TRANS SO FAR SO GOOD.
Great Car
I traded my Civic in for this car and it has been a great purchase. The car runs great, it has great pick-up and a very smooth ride. The features on the SE are perfect for me. Great for the highway and in the city. A+ in my book!
Great car so far
Had this car for a couple of months. Great car. Interior quality is not even comparable to domestics, same with reliability and gas mileage. Engine power is so-so. it gives enough power to merge in, thats about it. It could use a few more horses. If you don't want to spend allot of money on repair bills and gas, then this is the car for you
Good to go!!
This Honda Accord is a great over all purchase. The interior I have is aftermarket leather, in which is higher quality than the manufacturer's option. Gas mileage is great. I can drive from L.A. to Vegas and back on one full tank of gas and still have some left for the work week!! This Honda is good quality and craftmanship in comparison to some other cars in the same price range.
Simply excellence
I loved it when I first saw it! I knew Accords were excellent vehicles based on previous ownership. While it has high miles, I knew if it was well maintained there shouldn't be any problems. The previous owner took great care of it. The interior was virtually flawless. The room is adequate (not bad for a 6'3" guy). The controls are easy to reach. The ride is the best I ever had. That car hugs the road like nothing I ever driven! It had met and exceeded even my Honda expectations. If you're looking for driving perfection in the form of a new or used car, this is the one for you!
4th HONDA EX
I just wanted to express my happiness of yet another honda purchase. I traded in the 1999 LX and got the EX this time. I think the new styles look like a toyota and the fact I got the 1250 rebate as well as 4.75% for 60 months. I have no regrets, I got the green this time, last time I had the huntermist. Go snatch your honda before its too late!
Solid But Uninspiring - Accord EX 5-spd
My Accord is dead-solid reliable, but the driving experience is plain-vanilla and road noise is a problem. The ride is relatively quiet on smooth pavement, but when the macadam gets coarse, it sets up quite a roar in the passenger compartment. I've experienced poor road-noise isolation in other Honda products, including a relative's Acura. My Accord also is generating a disappointing number of rattles and squeaks. Fit and finish otherwise are very good, and the quality of the interior materials is superb. If reliability and economical operation are what you're after, this is your car. If you're looking for pulse-quickening performance and silent running, look elsewhere.
Overall Great Car
I bought a Honda because I drive a lot and I wanted good reliable transportation. The car has a great transmission shifts very smooth. It also has very good pickup for a 4 cylinder engine.
2002 Accord V-6
I am pleasantly surprised how many standard options come with this model. V-6 engine, traction control, 6 CD changer, and , best of all, a thermostat climate control system are features that make this car a remarkable value at $23,500. (It is a better value than the Acura TL for example.) Previous Accords that I owned had the power windows and moon roof, so I am accustomed to those options in a car. I live in New England so the addition of traction control makes winter driving less frustrating.
Blue's Candy
This is an exceptionally built vehicle. The Honda quality is unsurpassable by many manufacturers. The ride is smooth and everything is laid out well within reach of the driver. It is a very user friendly vehicle and the 2.3L 4 cylinder engine is very economical especially in this time we are in now with soaring fuel prices. Modifications are abundant for this vehicle, but not necessary if you're like me and in your mid-thirties. The interior is spacious and has numerous features that come with the SE package. I am very impressed with this car and will be trading in my Ford Windstar for the Honda Odyssey.
1st time owner
Absolutely love it! I couldn't have chosen a better vehichle
Satisfied customer
Bought our EX-V6 new days before the all-new 2003's were launched (didn't like their styling for the extra price). Very satisfied so far. Have put 45k over 3 years. Only issues: -steering wheel mounted audio controls didn't function properly, replaced under warranty - driver side headlight bulb replaced twice in 3 years, had similar problems on my '93 Accord - front brake pads & tires close to replacement at only 45k - not as quick at normal acceleration as I thought 200 hp would be. - auto climate control isn't very smart (tends to run the a/c even at a high temperature setting). The above are minor issues, in my opinion and don't keep me awake at night. Overall very pleased.
Please with all except mpg.
Only complaint is mpg. Experience has generally been 18 in city and best has been 24 on highway.
Awesome Car to Start Driving On
Well, as a 16 year old who's just started driving, I have to say this is an excellent car. Powerful and economical I-4. Only time it struggles is fully loaded with 5 people in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Excellent build quality. Steering is responsive and offers plenty of feedback, as do brakes. Only odd noise is a clicking coming from the sunroof when it's cold. SE package offers a sunroof, CD player, alloy wheels and a few other nice features. However, 4 wheel disk brakes, ABS, and power seats would've been greatly appreciated. Compared to our previous 98 Camry, the Accords better handling, stronger motor and nicer design inside and out make me love it.
Car for Life
Very good family car! Excellent reliability. Good gas mileage. Smooth and quiet handling. Financing was almost perfect and can hardly beat the rate. If you plan on having 2 to 3 kids in your family, this will be the perfect fit. One of the safest four door car I've ever thought. If you think of selling it, this will be one of the highest resale value you can find with its class.
Solid car
Excellent car. Brakes and engine are well balanced compared to most competing vehicles. The car feels solid but not heavy and moves nibly and smoothly. A better value than the Camry and without the arrogance of Toyota dealerships.
Just bought a HONDA LOVE IT!
We just bought a Accord Value Package. I orginally wanted the Accord DX, but no dealers had any, one dealer had the value package which is a DX model with a lot of options. I paid 16,300. It only comes in 2 colors silver and blue. You need to take a look at what comes standard, there is chrome trim around the windows, I thought so what until I saw the cars that had the black rubber around the windows. The automatic stick shift has a nice wood grain, of course its imitation, around it. Has a CD player and cassatte, standard. I think they forgot I have a few 8 tracks in the garage. Back seat flips down and locks so the kids can fool with it.
Great!!!
Great!!! This car is amazing! I love how it rides, the interior is amazing! Everything about this car is supberb! Keep up the good work Honda!
It's my baby...
I am extremely satisfied!
Bring your own transmission
I bought my Accord new because they are supposed to be low maintenance cars that run forever. After warranty expiration, I learned that "forever" is slang for until your warranty expires. Even though my car is six years old, it only has 40,000 miles on it and I'm replacing the transmission. I've learned that this is a very common problem among hondas. It does have a flimsy front cup holder that won't stay latched and has a lot of road noise when driving at high speeds. With only four cylinders, it's a little gutless when getting onto the freeway. All these things could be overlooked if I could just get the transmission to let drive it.
I am disappointed
The car idles rough and they said these idle rough and that other people have complained, the engine is very loud on take off after sitting for several hours and they said that is the way these are and other people have complained they are saying it is a valve noise. It rides very bumpy over even smooth roads. Steering at 65 is awful it seems like you are constantly fighting to keep the car straight I don! t know if it is the aerodynamics or what. I have always heard what great cars these are and I am trying to figure out why everybody is so satisfied with these.
Too soon to tell, but . . .
I bought this car for $15,700 in August and, quite expectedly, have experienced no problems to date. The car is suprisingly spacious (my '88 Accord was about the size of an '02 Civic 4- door). Although only 150 hp, the 5- speed enables decent acceleration. For a car that won't leave you stranded on the highway, you can't beat the price (though the DX/VP is probably a better bargain if you can handle rolling up your own windows). Very easy to drive.
