Best car ive ever had

I have had this car since it was brand new'. It's an ex v6 coupe, black on black. To this day with 490,000 miles on it, it still runs like its a new car. Engine runs perfectly, transmission is still running strong (for the tome being) I changed the last one at 200,000. Changed both axles twice, just changed a wheel bearing ($300) passenger window motor ($200). I always put Michelin tires on my car. I have since it was new. I wash it every 1 to 2 weeks (paint is starting to fade on the hood and roof but hey thats battle scars, the sides still shine from a mile away. For 15 years i drove it 150-300 miles a day. Never had a problem. The interior still looks new inside. I put a k&n intake on with a chip for the engine. Trust me it makes the car sound like an expensive sports car coming down the road. Still males plenty of power. It gives my 2018 e350 a run for its money (it wont beat it though obviously) I mean i have to give it to this car. Its beem through a whole lot driving 490,035 miles as of 2020. It still runs strong. Excele t build quality. It is truely a great car. The seats still feel like they did when i bought it. A lot of things about that car still remind me of the test drive 22 years ago. You will notice little things, minor little rattles coming from places every now and then but thats natural for 22 year old plastic. That happened around 450,000. But for all of y'all who say they want their cars to reach 500,000 miles on their Honda's. I. Here to say you can. I expect another 50 to 100k out of this car. Just remember oil change every 4-5k and change the transmission fluid every oil change. It keeps those transmissions going. But dont do a flush just a fluid change. And also rotate your tires every time. I also lowered it and put performance suspension on it. Rides even better than it did new. Kyb is a great aftermarket suspension for those cars. No problems after 75k on them so far. In nee orleans I forgot to mention. Our streets SUCK!!! I wish every one who has the same challenge of 500k the best of luck. It wont be too hard. Just keep that transmission going. Dont be too hard on them. Thats how the first one went.

Transmission problems

At 56000 miles the transmission is slipping when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. The check engine light will come on with a code indicating the transmission has a fault. Seems to be a design problem that Honda admitted to in 2000-2002 but not 1998 and 1999. Don't buy one unless you get the transmission checked out. The cost for a new transmission id $4000!!! Ouch!!! I am trading mine in. Hopefully none of the readers will buy it!!! The Odessey with the V6 is having the same problem. I was at the dealer getting mine evaluate and someone was there with the same oriblem on her Odessey.

Bought new. Vehicle is better than what we expected. No troubles what so ever. The 4 cyl. engine has plenty of power, is an excellent preformer, great fuel mileage. Vehicle has been lowered, rear spoiler added. Still gets plenty of looks. The leather interior is great with the sunroof. Radio needs to be upgraded (only bad feature on car). All else is wounderful.

Don't Buy Accord V6

On 4/16/98 I purchased my second Honda, an accord EX V6. On 2/12/99 I replaced the transmission computer, under warranty. On 5/19/00 there was a recall. At 100K after first engine tune-up, the alternator dies $275. A few weeks later the transmission goes out $3100, then the check engine light comes on, something about EGR valve $500. The check engine is back on again; all this on top of expensive maintenance costs. The car has 109K miles on it, I am thinking about selling it. My advice to you is don't buy the accord V6 at least not the 98-01 model it was designed to break down. My girl friend has similar problems with 98 LX

Recap to earlier review. Approx 82k and even though maintained well. It's needed alt., vtec valve and pwr door actuator. Car still looks nice except for corroding wheels. Major problem has been the trans which started shifting bad at 18k and gets worse every year. Sad sad sad. I've notified Honda about trans and they claim they'll help me
