Reliable car to own
Purchased a gray LX used at 38k which was assembled in Japan. Changed Radiator, Ignition key switch, Battery and tires once. Runs great at 101k without any hesistation. Recently my friend tested it at 115 MPH still has some power. Just do the regular maintenence in the manual she will last a long time. Driver side window rolls up slow maybe need new motor.
The best car I've ever owned
The car has never dissapointed me, or let me down. It is so comfortable, on long drives you dont feel like stopping. The car should have come with wider wheels and more HP for a 2.2 liter. But other than that, the interior and exterior build quality is fantastic. The problem is I would like to buy a newer Accord, but I cant seem to let this go as it seems more sturdy!
Love-hate relationship
I bought my accord new and have put over 200,000 miles on it since college. It has been extremely reliable with a very concerning exception. The lower ball joint in front end has failed 3 times causing the wheel to disengage and the car to skid off the road in a shower of sparks. It has happened on both the right and left front ends. Honda corp and the various mechanics involved couldn't pinpoint a cause. I have never abused the car and I am the only driver. Other than that, I haven't replaced anything other than tires, batteries, brakes, and pipes. It has it's original clutch!
Satan's own automatic transmission
This car has the crudest, roughest automatic transmission I have ever experienced, rough enough to spill your morning coffee if you happen to be sipping while it is shifting. Reliability is atrocious. At 27,000 miles the temperature control knob stopped operating. At 35,000 miles the driver's door window fell into the door frame and would not roll up. There was an exhaust system rattle from underneath the passenger compartment the entire time I owned the car. At 65,000 miles the ABS computer module failed to the tune of $800. At 70,000 miles the odometer stoppped working. My 3rd and last Honda product.
luv my Honda Wagon EX
After my last repair on our 97 Sable I decided to sell it and get a Honda. My wife has had great reliability on her 98 civic but I found the civic to small for me. I wanted a wagon and a Honda so I bought used a one owner EX wgn w/ 60K miles. My first fuel check showed 29.3 mpg in town ! It is fun to drive, easy to park and the cargo space with the seats down is very large (63 cu ft). I'm glad I bought this car, I enjoy the CD/tape system as well as the moon roof. This car is a "keeper" as I intend to keep it on the road as long as as I can.
