Picked up a 2.5 Sport Prestige…so far no regrets.
Updating review after about a year of ownership. I ended up trading this car in for a BMW, there were just too many things about it that started to bug me. The Good things 1. The car looks great. I’ve had more people come up to me and start talking about this car than any other car I’ve owned 2. The interior materials and design are top notch 3. The HDA2 features are great. 4. The car has a lot of usable space. More than expected given its size. 5. The car is quiet. Impressively quiet. They really did a good job minimizing road and tire noise. The Bad 1. The gas mileage is bad. About 21 mpg using premium gas. This is with the 21 inch tires. The smaller tires should give better gas mileage but look kind of meh. 2. The half digital/half analog dashboard is a joke. Initially I was ok with it but after I saw cars $20k cheaper in the Hyundai line up with full digital it really started to bug me. The competition also offers full digital dash at the same price point. 3. The seats on the Sport Prestige have mesh inserts and look cheap. Yes, they allow the ventilated seats to work really well but I only use that feature 3 months out of the year. More importantly, don’t even think about using the seat massage. After using it a few times, the seat got stuck in an in between state between normal and massage. I could never get them back to where the seat wasn’t uncomfortable after that. 4. Part of the reason I couldn’t get the seat back is because the dealer never responded to my concierge request to have it looked at. I don’t think this is uncommon with that service. Without dedicated dealers and loaner fleets, I don’t see how this lack of response won’t continue to be a problem. Just unacceptable given the price and what the competition offers. This car stickered for as much as a very well equipped Q5 or X3 (~ $55k). The So So 1. I’m torn on the powertrain. The engine feels great at highway speeds. Ex. accelerating from 55-75. The engine feels a tick slow and laggy accelerating from a stop. Ex. Accelerating from 0-60 to get onto a highway. Published 60 times are around 5.6-6.0 but these are with launch control and not normal acceleration. 2. The Lexicon system is clear but weak. Weak=Having to turn it up to 60 out 70 to get a nice loud sound. 3. The overall car tech is impressive, however it fails to execute on the fundamentals. Ex. It gives you neat things like posture analysis but then fails 60% of the time to apply those settings when you start the car up. TL:DR summary, the car is pretty good but is let down by some nagging issues and an underdeveloped dealer network. If the car was discounted relative to the competition, these would be easier to overlook. However, if you’re charging as much as a Q5 or X3 you better offer similar tech for the price (ex full digital dashboard) and dealer experience (being able to schedule an appointment to get the car serviced). Genesis doesn’t do this. Changing rating to three stars. ### I think this car is worth a look if you’re shopping in the Q5/GLC/X3 space. I traded in a 2018 Q5 Premium Plus for it and so far it’s been superior to the Audi in most areas. My rating is 4 stars due to the dealership experience and option unavailability on the 2.5. Pros -The 2.5 puts out 300hp and over 300lb ft of torque. It seems noticeably faster than the Q5 I traded. (Not as fast as the X3 M40s I test drove) - Good steering feel. The AWD is rear biased and the steering feels more communicative than the Audi -Styling. Styling is subjective but I think the interior/exterior design is better than what the Germans are putting out -Warranty. Genesis gives a longer bumper to bumper and powertrain warranty than the Germans. The complementary 3yr/36k maintenance is a nice add on. -Features/Misc. The standard safety features are great and it just has a lot of “neat” tech features for the price. The highway driving assist and smart cruise are really good. Cons -Combined gas mileage is only in the 21-22 mpg range. I was getting 25 mpg in my Q5 -The Lexicon audio is good but not great. It has good clarity but the bass is noticeably weak. -The dealership experience is lacking. This is expected since Genesis is colocated with Hyundai. For now I’m ok with it since my previous Audi/Lexus dealer experiences were just ok. -The way Genesis only makes certain options only available on the 3.5 trim is annoying. There’s no good reason the full digital instrument cluster and ELSD aren’t available on the 2.5 Sport Prestige.

AMAZING
I love love LOVE my GV70!!! The exterior design is sleek and an eye catcher from the front or rear. It's like a Bentley...until a Bentley pulls up. The GV70 '22 is brand new and looks amazing. Pluses - the console has a 14 inch-touch screen display, the gear shift is a dial, there is massage capability in the driver seat, there's heated AND ventilated seats, the ambient interior lighting is nice, panoramic moonroof, and there are unique Interior leather colors (i.e. red, blue, green). The red is H-O-T. The only minus I would say is the gas mileage. I keep mine on eco to save on gas. You get a lot for for an SUV at this price point. The drive is smooth. Thumbs up for 375 hp . I like that the packages are straight forward and easy to understand. There are not a ton of add ons that get confusing. I have the 3.5T Sport Standard. It feels luxurious!!!

Not a reliable Car
Purchased my GV70 in October 2021, at less than 5,000 miles, back at Genesis where over a period of 3 months over having my car they changed the transmission 2x and then the transfer case. In October 2022, the radio/modem failed and in mid December Genesis is stating "your part is likely to be another month before shipping" Genesis Consumer Affairs is clueless and useless, never mind Genesis Conceige/valet service that is nothing more than a dream.

Great car, Poor customer service
I would have given a higher rating, but my experience with Genesis North America customer service over a very well documented issue was extremely disappointing. My GV70 had an issue that set it into a sort of limp mode, seriously lacking performance, without any code or visible sign of issue, and remaining unexplained to this day. I was able to resume driving the car after turning it off then back on again, but from that point forward there was a slight hesitation when accelerating. After unsatisfactory attempts to work with Genesis customer service, I wrote to the company's COO in detail about my issue and subsequent, substantial out of pocket expense for my new car that I believed should have been covered by warranty, but I confirmed that my letter was never read. Instead, my concerns were addressed by Genesis middle management that gave me a runaround, albeit courteous, but offered no explanation or resolution for the detail issues that I reported, and did not escalate as I requested. I gave Genesis North America ample time and every opportunity to address my concerns, but unfortunately to no avail. Based on this, and although I love the car, regrettably I have lost trust in Genesis and would never buy the Genesis brand again nor would I recommend the GV70 to anyone. I regret having bought a car and brand whose company executives do not appreciate a customer's sincere feedback that may help them to improve their brand and customer satisfaction.
Good luck when you need service
My brand new Genesis GV70 broke down. I haven’t had a car for 6 weeks. They make false promises. Pick your car up for service: NO. Loaner car: NO. Any reimbursement for rental and/or Ubers: NOTHING YET. I FedEx’d a letter to Ms. Marquez, COO of Genesis North America: NOTHING. I FedEx’d a letter to Mr. Barcelo, CEO of Hyundai North America: NOTHING. Car is sitting at the service center and they are doing NOTHING even though the part has been there for days.. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER YOU BUY.

Transfer Case Replacement Needed
Love the trucks look handling and color. 3000 miles AWD light comes on and throws another code indication of a bad transfer case which is ordered. Very upset the drive train failed on a new vehicle and hopeful the new one will be better and not a design flaw being a new model.

Great car, super lousy service!!
I’m trying really hard to like this vehicle. It looks and performs great. I have had issues though. After only three months and three thousand miles, got a warning light about the limited slip differential. A visit to the dealer resulted in the car spending 35 days in their lot waiting for parts. I also had a concern about a creak noise in the roof panel. When I got the car back after it’s extended stay, warning lights were off, creak noise still persists and the car was washed but has a coating/white film on the trim and in the door jams. The promised concierge service is non existent. Loaner car, not available. The dealer never once called me with any updates. I had to call them which usually resulted in a long wait listening to horrible musics and weird tones. After contacting Genesis customer service, there was nothing they could do to get me a loaner car but said they would “consider” reimbursing me for a rental after all was said and done. I have made another appointment with the dealer to see if the creak noise can be banished but was told no appointments are available for 6 weeks and of course no concierge service and loaner cars are first come first serve. I’m sure that means I will be out of luck this time around as well. This is our second Genesis and likely our last. The dealer experience is not only bad but abysmal. You get treated like they are doing you a favor buy fixing the car they sold to you. When I go to the Porsche dealer I get treated and even referred to as a guest. The Hyundai dealer treats you like an annoyance. Makes the ownership experience unsatisfying. All of the Hyundai/Genesis dealers near me all get nothing but bad reviews. All sighting poor customer service. Genesis advertises concierge service and are trying to compete with the German automakers. They are falling way, way short. I have never had poorer experiences than my visits with Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai.

Surprisingly Great Car
After reading a lot of reviews and a test drive I purchased a GV70 (sport). I have never owned an SUV prior to this one although I have previously looked at them. I traded in a 2017 G80 (great car) on my purchase and sold a Nissan Z (retirement car) in order to purchase this car (just purchased). At 70 years old and was looking for a safe comfortable final car to drive. Unbelievably the GV70 has more internal luxury than my previously owned G80. Although my need for speed days are over, but note the engine (V6 twin turbo) has more horse power and torque than my previously owned Z sports coupe. I keep and drive the CV70 in comfort mode which has a smooth ride. I am six feet tall and have some Arthritis in my back. The seats for me are very comfortable. I have seen a lot of people looking at the car and fielded a lot of questions at the gas station or parking lots. The exterior looks sleek and expensive. It’s important to state that I do not have the advance package, and my car still has numerous built in safety features. The only negative I could possibly mention is the in town (stop and go) gas mileage. Non stop and go is not great but not bad for this type of vehicle. I love it.

2022 GV70 Sport Prestige $65k+ MSRP Engine Problem
In February 2022 we purchased a 2022 GV70 Sport Prestige (fully loaded) with a MSRP of over $65k. (Of course due to shortages, we were price gouged, but we wanted in the front of the line with this "SUV of the Year" so we did it. We have owned Lexus' for over a decade- IS350, RX350, GS350, ES350. We have always been treated with the luxury customer care you would expect from a Japanese Kaizen experience. The Genesis drives and feels great- 375HP rivaling a Porsche Macan S (up until Porsche up'ed the Macan S this year). We drove both the Macan and GV70 and truly feel the GV70 gave us more luxury, features, and performance than the Macan. Today, with just over 6,000 miles on the odometer we were driving in our town on a 30mph roadway. Suddenly the check engine light started flashing and then the engine shuttered and began misfiring. I pulled over and the check engine light stopped flashing and then stayed on solid. I know O2 sensors are notorious for causing problems (but I hadn't filled up today) so I checked the gas cap, shut off the engine, and then restarted it. Sure enough, the light lit up again and then my wife got a text from Genesis about the vehicle having an issue. I called the Hyundai Dealership that we purchased it from and they were amazingly open on 4th of July Saturday. They said we needed to tow it in (at our expense) so we did so, over 40 miles away. Thankfully, we were provided a loaner Subaru Outback to drive and it'll be sometime next week before we learn what's wrong with it. While we understand it's a machine and machines fail, we don't abuse our vehicles, we run premium fuel in it, and baby it. If this is a Korean Super SUV's reliability, I think we are not going to own it for long.

GV70 3.5T
We bought this vehicle approximately 6 months ago and there are some quirks that drives us crazy. Setting the profiles are hit or miss you save them and when you recall things are never just right. We also noticed on long road trips when we change drivers the destination is not shared so you have to re-enter it. Then there's the promised pickup and delivery for service that is nonexistent we have two dealership and it took weeks to get the vehicles initial service done and neither offered to pickup our vehicle. It is a good looking vehicle but Genesis needs to step up their game if they want to be taken seriously as a luxury brand.

Foux-lux
Car is beautiful and well appointed, but to be clear it's well short of "luxury" no matter what the dealer tries selling you on. Maybe I've just been lucky with other brands, but I never had to bring my Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, Audi. Even when. On top of that, when I've had "warranty issues" with those vehicles they were ALWAYS very responsive - you will not get that with this brand. Haven't even had the oil changed on this thing yet and had to cring it in to have the AC fixed. Besides having to wait 3 weeks to get in at the Hyundai dealership to have this looked at, all they did was charge the system because apparently there was no refrigerant in the system. It was cold when I drove home from the dealership but the next time I got in the car it was blowing 95 degree F air on a 75 degree day. Given the price of new vehicles I personally feel you shouldnt have issues within the first 5k miles but I get it, sometimes you're just the unlucky one who ends up buying the vehicle with an issue. Service standards are anything but luxury. We own a Hyundai.

Big mistake
Purchased a GV70 in July. With less than 5k miles, transmission issues. They kept the car 5 weeks. Finally get my car back and it won't go over 30 mph. We have it sent back to the dealership and they are trying to find the problem. While the car was being towed noticed the headlight was full of water. 62,000 car with less than 6,000 miles. Working with Genesis for a buy back but not feeling like they will take any responsibility. Lesson learned.

Phenomenal Vehicle
So let me start off by saying this won 2022 car of the year. I bought the Sport Prestige in July and since then have put over 10,000mi on it without a single issue. I don’t know why that one star review is even here because the fit and finish on this car is better than most cars you can buy for over 100k. And let’s not even get started on material choices and features by the Germans for their price point. Anyhow I I would recommend this car to anybody looking for a small sport crossover. Base model or top trim the value and quality is immense! The GV 70 didn’t win 2022 car of the year over all the German rivals for nothing. 🤷♂️

After 1 year, major build quality problems.
3.5 Litre Sport Prestige looks gorgeous, drives fantastic and appears great value. However: I hit a pot hole within the first month of owning mine. The tire burst, ok; but the suspension strut broke away from its mount and came up through the engine. I thought that seemed excessively catastrophic for hitting a pot hole. The car was completely undriveable. It then spent almost two months back at the dealer, because the dealer was unable to get the parts, and the tire!. (Seriously, 2 months?!). 3 months later the drivers side wiper starts vibrating and screeching. The dealer says nothing can be done about that. It is torture any time it rains. 5 months after that, there is an alarming vibrating sound behind the passenger side rear wheel. A large plastic piece of undercarriage appears to be falling off. Around the same time, the wind (more accurately a strong breeze) catches the drivers door and pulls it out of alignment...... the door does not now fit properly and makes an alarming clunk when opened. 1 year in with the fully loaded GV70 and the build quality and stamina of the car are highly questionable. Mine lives in the Hamptons and has a fairly sedate and quiet life, but it's falling to bits... It's a shame, but I guess the corners Genesis had to cut to sell it for $67,000 are starting to expose themselves.

Better than X3, GLC and even Macan
I have test driven the X3, GLC and Macan and they can not provide the same thrill and excitement as the GV70. Genesis might be new, but they know what customers want and are ready to deliver. BMW, Mercedez and other luxury brands want to use their name as the reason why they are the best but have the worst ratings overall. Save yourself the money and buy the GV70.

None Better!! but..now there is a battery problem!
Here is an update, now that i have owned the car for almost a year!!..........even when you leave the car for more then a month...totally shut off....the battery will wear down....my car died after a long visit out of town....the car had to be boosted, and then the battery would not re_charge...dead!!....i brought it to my local dealer......it took a while to even find a replacement battery!!....using the skeleton key is almost impossible!!... ...i now have the hood open slightly, using a trickle charger. When i travel....now i find, the dealers have the same problem, with their cars on their lot..the batteries die even when off.!!!....i hope Genesis will solve this electrical problem. ..yes..they gave me a free new battery!! May not be a good choice as a secondary car???...KEN..FLA.. 12/7/24 UPDATE... Since I had the new battery installed and factory minor call back repairs...I have had no more Electrical problems....My car is a First year Production....Genesis is constantly trying to be the Number one in it's class......I am still Thrilled with my most modern car of it's kind!

Lipstick on a pig.
I signed a 3 year lease for my 2022 GV70 back in September of 2021. I remember going to the Genesis dealership and instantly falling in love with them. The car is visually stunning (I have the Matte Green color) on the outside and the inside is just as nice. Every bell and whistle you can imagine and nowhere near the cost of a Mercedes, Porsche or BMW. I've owned just about every luxury and non-luxury brand. This was far and away the best car and I decided for the first time in my life, I would be buying the car at the end of my lease. That is until 4 months ago when something seemed "off." I would be on the highway cruising along at 70mph and all of a sudden the car would slow down and start stalling. After about 5 seconds, it would go back to normal. This went on for 3 months. I took it to the dealership and they ran a diagnostic and said nothing was wrong. A few weeks later, I was driving with my family and the car suddenly died. No warning lights, nothing...it just shut off. To make matters worse, I was on a very busy street. We're lucky we didn't get into an accident. About 30 seconds later, the car started but when I got home, I couldn't put it into park. Only then did the check engine light come one. I had to shut the car off because none of the controls were working. I ended up towing it to the dealership and they told me there was an issue with the fuel injector. That was a 2 week ordeal and when I got it back, it seemed to be fine...until the AC went out about a week later. On the 4th of July we were heading over to a friends house and the car would not cool down. I shut the car off and restarted it again but it was blowing nothing but hot air. As you can imagine, I was very irritated. What are the odds that these major issues happen within a few months of each other? I've had cars for 5 years with no issues. I only have 13k miles now after almost 2 years! The problems started happening around 10k miles. I was sooooo disappointed because I truly love everything about this car but I can't trust it. I've never had a car have so many issues with so few miles. That's a bad sign and THANK GOODNESS IT'S A LEASE! I think Genesis spent all of their money on the outside appearance and interior of the car. The engine? Not so much. They had so cut back somewhere because this should be a 80-90k car. If it's too good to be true, it usually is. I would have been a "lifer" for this brand but now they will get a customer who will never be a Genesis owner ever again and will let everyone I know to avoid buying one (unless you love seeing your service advisor at the dealership on a regular basis). The "kicker" was it took over a month to fix the AC because there were numerous cars with the same problem. And the fuel injector issue? There were 8 cars ahead of me with the exact same problem as well. I realize 2022 was the first model year for the GV70. There are going to be issues the first time around. But to have major engine problems with not even 10k miles on the car? That's a serious, serious problem. I get it if I'm approaching 40k+ miles. The worst part was when the car just died while I was driving. That's not only scary, but potentially fatal. Something like this happened to me years ago when I bought the Jaguar XF after it just came out. After having the car less than a year, it died while I was driving. It scared the crap out of me and I will never buy a Jaguar again. I don't trust them. Unfortunately, that's how I feel with the Genesis GV70. Just like the Jaguar, it's a beautiful car with every option you can imagine...but the reliability is garbage. Genesis is now on my "never again in my life" list. I thought I found my dream car and a brand I would be loyal to for the rest of my life...but Genesis decided to put "lipstick on a pig" with the GV70. What a shame.

An Amazing Vehicle
I recently traded in my X3 and could not be happier with the 2.5 T engine. The vehicle is like nothing else on the road. More than enough power and a well organized interior that clearly rivals it's German competitors. I would highly recommend this vehicle. It is now a year that I have been driving this vehicle and could not be happier. It is by far the best SUV in it's class. I still get stopped regularly by people wanting to know how I like it. Bravo Genesis!

Great SUV for less than pricey BMW/Porsche/Jaguar
I just got a GV70 2.5 T 300 HP Genesis. Excellent service and warranty, specially. The SUV rides great and accessories are affordable. Gas mileage might not be great, but if you read specifications and compare to other similar SUVs you will go for the Genesis. So far, very happy!!!

Not so good after 4 months of ownership
Car with 2,500 miles had mechanical breakdown (engine would not shut-off) requiring roadside assistance. Car was at dealership for over a week to be repaired. Now I wonder about reliability. Genesis did not provide a loaner car although it is covered under warranty. Genesis marketing highlights concierge service with service valet (loaner) as a value- added benefit in purchasing a vehicle. Clearly this service is a falsehood. The dealership (Rick Case) repair experience was disappointing. Poor customer care including (1)no communication with me concerning the repair status of my car and (2)provided no assistance in trying to coordinate a loaner vehicle from Genesis. Also realized after purchase that the trim level on my car did not include driver memory seat. I took a demo ride on a higher trim package and the salesman gave me miss-information on standard features. Disappointed that a $44K "premium" car does not include driver memory seat as standard feature.

The GV70 (3.5 Prestige) is an Amazing Bargain
Everything in this car screams quality. The materials feel great, the seats hug you just right, and there are plenty of amenities in the car. The infotainment system is easy to use and intuitive and controls aren't bad at all once you get used to their placement. All of the tech in this car is amazing. They implemented amazing safety features that almost lets the car drive itself while on the interstate. There are also multiple ways for you to access your car without needing the key fob (phone, card, fingerprint). The only downside is that the passengers don't get the massaging chairs like the driver does.

2022 GV70 All Wheel Drive light
my 2022 had the light come on and transfer case replaced. Within about 1000 miles the light came back on. Transfer case replaced again. Went to pick it up, started the car, severe shuddering. Left it with the dealer, they replaced the computer. Had them deliver it back to me 50 miles. Light is not on right now but I have zero confidence in this car.
An SUV that drives like a sportscar
I own a GV 70 V6 Sport. Great build quality, very quiet ride, terrific tech, wonderful interior lighting, five drive modes that really change driving characteristics, nicely designed. V6 twin turbo is very fast and steering, suspension and transmission respond quickly to drive mode changes. I have 6800 miles and it has been a flawless experience. I experienced a 7 week delay in getting a fuel regulator recall. The dealer provided a loaner (GV80) which was very nice for the seven weeks. The North Charleston, South Carolina dealership was unable to get the parts for the recall. My car was finally fixed, washed and delivered to my home. I had had no issues with the GV70 and have 24K on te odometer. It still is a pleasure to drive especially in Sport mode.

Amazing SUV That Can't Be Matched For the Price!
The car is awesome! Picked mine up a month ago and haven't stopped smiling. The attention to detail, the quality of the build, the performance, the warranty and Genesis concierge services you get, the look and styling of the vehicle, there is nothing out there matches what you get even close for the same money. I've looked at all of the competition and owned many of them before. Genesis hit a homerun with this ride!

Better than expected outcome!
Excellent service and advice throughout the purchase process. I honestly felt the team was working for my best interest when they recommend the GV70 2022. 4wheel drive fully equipped and safety features that were everything I desired!
Unique, interesting luxury vehicle!
There aren't many luxury brands out there that have vehicles that aren't a dime a dozen and have settled into mediocrity - in this price range. They were all quite boring and behind on technology compared to the GV70! I purchased the 2.5T Prestige model to get better gas mileage (the V6 isn't great on mileage but who buys a V6 Twin Turbo for good gas mileage?) and to get a softer ride as here in Canada, you still get 19" wheels which provide a much softer, more luxurious ride than the 21" wheels. There have been some growing pains, but I knew buying a brand new model there would be some kinks to work out. The rear differential had to be replaced almost immediately but it didn't prevent me from driving the car while I waited the 4-5 weeks to get the new part. The service for me has been excellent. There are many, many horror stories about bad service but my experience has always been positive. They picked up my vehicle from work, left me a loaner, brought it back 3-4 hours later all done - easy! Update: well, a few more problems since my original review. Got in a fender bender with a Honda that thought it was okay to turn left across 3 lanes of traffic. It took FOUR MONTHS to get the needed parts to repair! I could still drive it but who wants to drive a brand new car with a smashed in front fender? Then I could t accelerate consistently and needed a new throttle body. That took 5 weeks. While they looked at that, determined I needed a new water pump. Had problems with the steering being stuff when it gets cold (-30) so they replaced the steering rack. This is a whole lot of reapirs on a brand new car under a year old. I believe the infotainment system is the best available (again in this price range) - nobody has anything better...amazing 14.5" ultra-wide screen, great safety technology, Android Auto (wired but I have a wireless adapter), navigation, phone app remote access, remote parking, etc...the voice recognition system built in sucks, but everything else is great. It's a very comfortable car, even when it's -35 to -40 like it often is where I live - start it with your phone, turn on the heated seats and steering wheel, set the temperature and it's toasty warm when you get in. We'll see what the reliability is like over the long term but I plan to keep this vehicle for 10+ years. I have almost 10,000 KM on it so far and it has been rock solid...most complaints are due to service issues (which are significant with many dealerships especially in the US) or people who don't like the "badge" and call it a Hyundai. It is most definitely not a Hyundai - this has been built from the ground up by Genesis and it shows. Build quality is excellent and it creates a smooth, super quiet ride. I find myself actually more calm after my commute instead of stressed out driving my old car every day (I have a 100 KM commute round trip every day). I dropped a star due to the inaccessibility of parts and the number of issues I've had in the first year. Need to do better.

Unsafe Car
My car has been in the shop several times and now the latest is 3 weeks. Unsafe to drive. Cuts out while driving and decelerates and acceleration without warning. Corporate just keeps telling I’ll let you know what legal department says. It is clearly a lemon. I will never or my daughter get in The car ever again. Not SAFE!!!

GV70 traded back
Like many people, I bought into the extraordinary reviews this car received, and after driving Volvos and Audis for year, bought one after a very brief test drive. 4000 miles later, I've just traded it in and went back to Volvo. Based on 6 months of ownership: Pros: Very nice and quiet drive. Good visibility. Excellent stereo. Comfortable seats. Very pretty car. Cons: The electronics and systems are just funky. Two days into ownership, the stereo just died and needed a software reset. The adaptive cruise control is frightening at times, suddenly slowing down without any obvious reason at all (theory: the sensors are 'seeing' oncoming traffic rather than the car in front); AC sometimes works, sometimes not; AppleCar play: sometimes to the spoken navigation direction comes on, sometimes not; tire pressure monitoring system all over the place, causing me to constantly fill with air just in case; and other misc. stuff that to me, is entirely unacceptable for a $52k car. Also, and this one is weird - the windshield doesn't get clean. Mine came with the outline of what probably had been decals and stickers, burned in; and even regular old dirt won't come off, even after going through a car wash. All of this made me worried about long-term ownership. Oh and I don't live near a dealership and this whole: we will come to you didn't happen in reality. Back to Volvo. The ride isn't as quiet, but I feel a lot more certain about the systems than I ever did in the Genesis.

Big surprise
Leased new.Car rides well but the electronics are terrible and cannot be fixed according to the company. The GPS did not work form day one. There is a sign that comes up on the GPS that says, Route guidance is currently unavailable due to the outdated version of the navigation map. Please update the map to use the rout guidance. I had it serviced 5 times and was told that there is no update available, from the company. All the settings that have to be set, clock, radio, doors, seats, hatch back, etc do not work. Within a few days the all disappear. The company says they cannot fix it. The back seat passengers cannot get out of the back seats about 60% of the time because the doors wont open. This is very dangerous. I asked the company to consider taking the car back, after 30 days they said no, did not even say they would try to fix it again. The service is poor because the techs have not been trained for it. I can tell you first hand. I asked why all the settings disappear and was tol by a tech that the car thinks someone else is driving it. I asked another tech if he could find the engine temperature gauge, there is non on the dash??? Never saw that in my lifetime of driving. He told me that they dont need it if the engine overheats it will pop up. Wrong again, one day driving i. Hit a button on the steering wheel and the gauge popped up, along with a few other gauges that really should have been on the dash. Fumbling to find them when you are driving makes no sense. I would never buy a purchase or recommend a Genesis
Best New SUV
Having owned a Volvo, Acura, BMW and Lincoln, I can definitely state that the GV70 Sport Prestige beats them all and is worth the Motor Trend SUV of the year title. Edmunds editors' opinion notwithstanding, the GV70 3.5T is a race car with an SUV shape. It is powerful, sporty, fun to drive (especially in Sport mode) and is a head turner. The car is comfortable for both long and short distances and is easy to enter and exit since the front seats move back when the doors open (important at my age - >70). The fit and finish and the quality of trim beats any European vehicle of similar price range. This SUV is not inexpensive at the top model but it is worth every penny. I recommend.

Better than paying $92k for a Macan GTS
GV70 S/P is a great purchase and the warranty is un matched in this segment.
Surprises
The less there are, the less stolen in my crime infested area. However, I cannot be selfish, so far, one week old, 400 miles, there are new surprising features I keep discovering. Perfect size, great steering, comfortable seats. Was between the Europeans SUVs ,,,, but for the price and warranty, Genesis is unbeatable

Sporty SUV
To be quite honest, there is nothing I do not like about the GV70. They thought of everything when it comes to comfort and design. There are several cameras, safety features and the cabin is spacious. Just like we have smart phones, this is a smart SUV. If you want the quickness of a sports car, but the space to fit your family - the GV70 is it!
Can't get parts from Korea
I bought a GV70 last summer. Loved it. Quiet. Luxurious. Sporty. Comfortable. But... I was involved in a fender bender in December. Took it to a repair shop on Dec 28. It has been there ever since. Hyundae says they will get the parts some time in late March, early April. This, sadly, is what Hyundae calls "service". So, while the Genesis works, it's great. But if you need parts?! It is the most expensive paper weight I ever bought.

NEW SUV GOLD STANDARD
No more dealing with thousands of $ mark up with every feature by Porsche Audi BMW and Mercedes. New SUVs for Genesis raises the bar with every conceivable safety feature etc made available for thousands less than other cars that have stopped investing in the traditional vehicles and are look to EVs 5 years down the road. Very pleased with the SUV lineup from Genesis

Collision avoidance/speed control problems
At approx 25,000 miles while traveling on the highway using the speed control when the speed control stopped working. On the dashboard display it read "check collision avoidance system". Not sure how to do that but a visual check of the car showed no sign of damage. The dealer told me that the car had front end damage and I was responsible for the damage. I took the car to a repair shop and they found no damage. I have filed a complaint with Genesis and I have a case number. So far Genesis will not repair my car unless I pay $4000.00. All of this started April 1, 2024

GENESIS PROMISES!!!!@@!!!@!!!!!
I have a Genesis GV70 that I just LOVE I Love the feel of the seats, the way it rides, and I'm so fascinated by all of it's amazing technology!! I have yet to explore it all But The Promises..... I could go on and on about that, but I'm only going to speak briefly....... First of all without any notice they leave the Hyundai Dealership in Shreveport, LA, so now I have to come to Longview, TX, (80 miles away from my home one way) or go to Lafayette, LA, which is 250 miles one way from my home! Genesis never took in consideration their Customers!! You know WE are the ones that are actually Buying your Vehicles Put a FACE to each Dollar and then you should remember US that you want to keep for Life as A Customer.... I have spoken to a Lady named Brianna , that is suppose to be a Case Manager, and by the way it is not easy to speak with any of them, and that's a definite problem for me. All our conversations were dealing with the moving out of Shreveport and the cost of me having to pay for my oil change and them reimburse me, but save my receipts and send to them, so they would decide on what to do!! Where is the Concierge Service?? They Moved away, NOT ME. I'm yelling Concierge Service!!!! Brianna and My conversations finally ended (after more than one) with her offering me $300, and she was really serious about it. I was insulted and I thought my intelligence had really been attacked by her thinking I'm Stupid and I told her so. I would have never accepted that compared to the Concierge Service I was entitled to NO!!!! Now after everyone being routed to Longview, TX, they stay overpacked and it's hard to get an appointment. For the last 3 months or so I have been dealing with my check engine light being on and I called Longview to get an appointment and they couldn't figure it out whether it was a spark plug or cylinder and Genesis was not going to give them permission to do both parts without them knowing which. They cut it off and told me to bring it back as soon as it comes back on. I had to make an appointment and again their overpacked! The appointment was for that next Saturday at 10am, well the light went off a couple of days before that Saturday and I tried to cancel that appointment because even I know that can't check it when the lights off. It is so hard to get someone to answer the phone over there, but that's a conversation for another time.... This would have been my second trip to Longview for the check engine light.... So, I'm back today with two appointments, one for an oil change and another for the check engine light (9:30 & 11:00) and again I'm told there's No Vehicles if they need to keep it. Concierge Service!!! The time given to us for Covic 19 is over! Concierge Service!!!!... The Good Lord allows me to buy a New Car every 1 1/2 or 2 years so I will not have this sort of problem...... The Promises they give when buying a New Genesis are remarkable and has a lot to do with me buying one (the other stuff I spoke about earlier were bonuses for me). Yelling Concierge Service!!! Genesis needs to Step-Up on their promises or not give any at all! We ALL know that would really be bad for business for the kind of vehicles you're conveying to the public. When we bought our Genesis home it was advertisement because no one hardly had heard of a Genesis. My husband and I have receive many compliments on our GV70 and We Love it ❤️ We really do Love our car and would like to buy another one, but this is very frustrating to me to have to deal with this on my New Genesis! I AM SO Unhappy about the Promises..... Concierge Service where is it???

Junk
Apple CarPlay will not connect. Numerous run around with the dealership. Hoping to get the lemon law option. Genesis corporate talks from both sides of their mouth. Absolutely no help. 5 months 600 miles, can’t drive it

Adaptive cruise is anything but
The adaptive cruise control is way too touchy. If you accelerate over the set speed and then let off the gas the speed drops immediately rather than a smooth deceleration. I also experienced it as being “unavailable “ during light snow flurries Their definition of adaptive has a long way to go

Genesis GV70 SUV
Beautiful vehicle. Hit all the requirements except for 2 areas. Leg room in the back seats, and too expensive! I will wait until inventory is up, and prices are down.
Like Driving a Dream!!
From the fabulous interior and high tech, easy to use controls; to the super sexy exterior - There isn't much to complain about when it comes to this vehicle! I have gotten stopped more times than I can count from people wanting to know what this car was! It rides like an absolute dream and I highly recommend it!

Almost A Korean Super Car
We own a 2022 Genesis GV70 Sport/Prestige 3.5TT. We purchased it at the height of COVID price gouging and now have just shy of 36,000 miles on it. We love the car- when it is running smooth. We HATE the service that we’ve experienced at our two local “authorized dealerships.” AKA Hyundai/Genesis dealers. Genesis has sold their vehicles on par with a Lexus, BMW, Audi, Mercedes experience, and then they have failed to deliver that experience fairly regularly. The staff don’t understand (or abide by) Genesis’ concierge service. We’ve had to argue with them multiple times. We have had an oil sensor fail at 8,000 miles, an electrical short at 16,000 miles (steering wheel controls went dark for 2 weeks). Service for unexpected problems is weeks out each time, and the service advisors have been apathetic or argumentative. Great car- totally unacceptable dealership support. Genesis needs to build out their stand alone dealerships to save their reputation.

Great sporty car for a Great Grandma
There are so many great features and I'm sure I'll eventually learn to use them all. In the meantime, the ride is smooth and quiet. My first thing I look for in a car is legroom on the drivers side (yes, I haave long legs) and this car had perhaps the most legroom of any car I've looked at. It's great. There are lots of safety features and the front display is enormous. Love the car so far - plus get lots of good comments on it.

Not as great as some are saying.
Be aware that this GV70 is not the car that others are raving about. The gas mileage is horrendous. Mine is getting 17 mpg on premium fuel. The fit and finish is terrible, and I have noted scratches on the rims and the trim on my car. The ride is mediocre at best, and the auto stop us very annoying. Thankfully, it can be turned off. It may look a little like a Porsche Macan, but it is NO Macan. As the say, looks can be very deceiving. I’d advise people to avoid this car and go for a BMW X3 or Audi Q5. Those are real luxury cars! This is a Korean wannabe. I wish I never bought it! The only good thing is the warranty.
