I think my Ford Taurus handles the road really well. It's a very smooth driving vehicle.

Best car I have ever owned!

We bought this car from a rental company and it had 12,000 miles on it. Today 4 1/2 years later we have over 190,000! MPG was 26 now 24.5 in town or hwy. Not bad for a mid size car. New tires, new battery (as needed) and reg 3000 mile oil changes (Synthetic oil only). Nothing else! This is a workhorse of a car! Love our Taurus!

The 2006 Ford Taurus can ether be a great car or a dump. This is my dads car he got from his parents in 2007 (I think it only had around 20,000 then). I've grown up in that car, from road trips back to Missouri, to driving me to school and back, going on family trips in the moutains and now with me getting my license and being able to drive the car around my self. The car now has 172,000 miles and going at a mediocre pace. We don't take it on any more family trips in it, (to keep the miles off it) and sense day one my dad has kept great care of the car and its engine. Loking at it you wouldn't think it could have 172,000 miles on it. I don't really remember the early early days of having the car, but my dad has said that it drove great and he loved it (he still does). But when we neared 120,000 we started having probilms. Leaks of all sorts, and some major transmission issues. We've fixed it and the cars driving good right now. The handling isn't the best. I like firm handling with the feeling your hugging the ground (like I have in our other car, 1991 Honda Accord station wagon with 180,000 miles). Minus the handing the drive is ok, has plenty of road noise. The interior is nice with it being the SEL version. The leather on the driver seat and the leather wrapped steering wheel have aged greatly (we now a cover over the steering wheel). The heater and AC work great. I have noticed when you have a AC on full blast, I really have to gun the car to get power on highways. It has a good stereo system unless your like me and like to have the bass all the way up (it has zero bass). Great trunk space, and nice exterior overall. Overall I would say if you take great care of a Ford Taurus it may last you. I am just worried about reliably in the long run. It's only a matter of time before something big happens and the car goes kaput.
