Although this car did need a new transmission just before the warranty expired, it has been trouble-free since.

I bought a 98 Mustang v6 in Feb 09. I knew NOTHING about the specifics of Mustangs, I just wanted one. First night out, I went at it with a Aurora. He ate me alive. I thought I had a fast car!?! Then, it was brought to my attention, that I should've gotten a 5.0. I knew that, but I didn't think it made a difference. I have upgraded (its a 97) to a GT and its a world of difference. Handling, Sound, Speed, and Confidence is on another level. I LOVE my GT. I LOVE it. I bought it with 82k on the dash and in ONE month I have put on 3k. This is the car to have, especially in a big city like Chicago.

I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW AND AFTER I GOT 20000 MILES ON MY CAR, I HAD A HARD TIME KEEPING IT ON THE ROAD. I TOOK IT IN AND HAD FRONT IN ALIMENT ,AND I BOUGHT NEW TIRES. THE PROBLEM WAS STILL THERE. NOW I HAVE 60000 MILES ON IT AND THE CAR WAS OUT TO KILL ME. TOOK IT BACK AND FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS THE RIGHT AND LEFT LOWER CONTROL ARMS WERE NEEDING TO BE REPLACE. ALSO FOUND I HAD A REAR MAIN SEAL TRANSMISSION LEAK. AND OIL LEAK TOO. I ALSO HAD TO HAVE AN IDLER PULLEY REPLASED. AFTER ALL HAVE BEEN DONE I STILL HAVE A LITTLE PROBLEM PULLING TO THE RIGHT. THANK GOD FOR EXTENED WARRANTIES YOU’RE GOING TO NEED IT.

I've put 30k on my mustang in the year i've had it. Haven't had a a single problem yet. Very impressed. Even at fairly high speeds on the highway, it still gets pretty good mileage- I've made a 320 mile trek through the Idaho mountains in four hours flat (stopped 15 min. for lunch, too!) on under 3/4 tank(about $15 at$1.40/gal). Very predictable and forgiving in hard corners. With the 5-speed you can do some fairly impressive stuff, even with the six. Definately suggest oversized rims- i put 17's on mine and can out-corner with the supposedly more agile imports like integras&celicas. Overall- LOVE IT!!!

My wife and I have enjoyed playing arround in our "new" sports car. My mom says I act and even look ten years younger. The performance of this car can not compare to that of the 60's and 70's, but it sure handles better.
