Car goes fast...to the repair shop
I have owned this car for roughly 2 years now, and I have to admit that is is the biggest POS I have ever owned. Let's list the problems that I have had in 2 years of ownership: Broken piston in conv top, leaking top, engine had to be replaced at 22,000 miles, car spits coolant like it's Old Faithful, fog lights shorted out, piston rings went on new engine after 12k miles, rear knuckle had to be replaced, CD player does not work... The list goes on. Don't get me wrong, the car is a blast to drive, but I think the service manager at the dealer drove the car more than I did.
Black Beauty
Great car. Fun to drive. Completely original except for tires which have been replaced 3 times. I had a 86 GT and the clutch went in 20k miles, I replaced with an after market and the car ran for another 100k without a problem. Had the same thing happen with this car and am still riding nicely with the replacement. Ford needs to work on that.

Easy to own muscle car
My Cobra has been basically trouble-free. The only problems I had were covered under warranty. I am the original owner of my car, and have put 60,000 trouble free miles on it. This is my first stick shift. The car is very easy to drive. This is a great car for learning stick shift on. My original clutch is still going strong. It handles pretty well in slippery conditions. I really like the traction control. If you are a timid driver like me, this car is a god send. It totally takes care of you.
Mine orginal since new off the showroom floor.
In 1999 ford sent us a new chip, intake manifold, and exhaust. This made it a lot faster. Plus a free leather jacket with the vin inside. Some Cd's and a holder that fits in the center console. So ask for those if you can luck out and get them. I get 20mpg day in and out for the last 20yrs. Just bought an exhaust to put on. I also put a small tuner on mine I.g. for the exhaust change. Runs like a scalded dog.

Cobra
This has been the most fun car I've ever owned. Despite being 6 years old, I've not had any problems with it, and am impressed with the quality. Fuel economy is good for a 'muscle' car/sports car. It hits 60 in 5.4 sec. and has a top speed of 150. It is at the top of the heap of upscale sports cars, outperforming the BMW Z4, Honda S2000, Nissan 350Z and Porsche Boxster to name a few. As a somewhat rare model, it is very underrated.
Cobra Review
I got my cobra in July of 99 and haven't ever looked back. It handles great, has the perfect sound, and more then enough power to put those "other muscle" cars in their place. I've put 42000 miles on it and havent had a single problem from it.
Kelly Green
Kelly is quick, reliable and gets looks everywhere she goes. I am so happy she lets me be with her. OK I bought the car used (48K) and drove her up from AL to NH. Throwout bearing was bad; so she was broken in a beautiful way. I had an AL flywheel, clutch and pro5.0 shifter installed, and have never looked back since. Never any buyers remorse. Performance is 8 only because she is not a "supercar" and "only a pony car," but proper aftermarket mods can change that in a hurry.
Cobra is for real
This is an awesome ride. Bought a GT last year (my first Ford)and liked it. This Cobra is a whole new ballgame.
Fast, but not fun.
Purchased mine used with about 4,800 miles on the odometer. It's at about 48,000 now. It's a blast to drive on the interstate or if you're smoking the tires at a light. Otherwise it rides like a log truck. It handles like a Grand Marquis around town. The build quality stinks. Lots of cheap plastic bits that creak and groan. So far I've had driver and passenger side windows and actuators and motors replaced, idler arm, a/c lines, headlights (became so hazy they turned white), rubber trim around front and back windsheild (peeled back) replaced. Suspension creaks and groans. It's great for what it is: an $18,000 car with $12,000 in engine, suspension, and brakes put on.
