Buyer Beware
Although not nearly as disappointing or terrible as similar Ford models that had CVT issues(i.e. The Focus or Fiesta) the Fusion does not deliver to expectations. Not only are there a score of issues with the PCM that require frequent maintenance and updates, it was also designed with a poorly built 6F35 transmission that often slips and jerks and will likely have to be rebuilt(or worse, replaced) every 80k-100k miles even with proper maintenance. Ford’s engineers have also failed to balance vehicle weight, engine power, and power train control, because this vehicle lags more than any other I’ve driven in my lifetime(and doesn’t even get good gas mileage to go with it). I do not recommend purchasing, but if you’re desperate or just in it for the cosmetic appeal, go right ahead. However I will warn, these vehicles typically don’t last long beyond 150k miles which is incredibly low for its class. 3/5.
