A commuters dream car

I was 22 when i got my 2017 ford fusion se, so for about three years now lemme tell you what, for my first car I get fresh off a dealer floor, I was NOT expecting this thing to be this amazing! First thing I noticed off the bat was the gauge cluster. Having an electronic rpm gage was something I definitely needed to get used to having. but it certainly didn't take long at all. Going over all the nitty gritty features of my fusion made me truly realize how much more it felt more luxurious than my audi I had. Best things I personally love about my fusion. 1.) Handling and comfort! I had the unfortunate decision to make of driving home through an ice storm, and for anyone in new england who reads this, you know how bad winters CAN be! Roads were slick but my fusion was a literal tank and drove through the storm like it was nothing. So reliability for harsh winters, big check mark right there! Seats felt super soft and comfortable! Can't say its like sitting on a cloud but its to the point where you could go for a long drive and still go on without stopping, for me I didn't want to get out of my seat at times! Having a half hour commute from work to home in the morning and at times almost to an hour at rush hour for the trip home the comfort makes up for it, and I'd say I became a sucker for this car! 2.) Accessibility to music and sound quality! This car has probably the best sounding audio I've ever had. Bass was amazing and overall quality is something I feel can't get any better. Road noise is so quiet even music drowns it out not even turned up loud! The apple play option I had was so easy to pair my phone to the car makes aftermarket radio options obsolete! Never had any issues with it, even now everything still runs like the day I got the car. 3.) Drivability and Fuel economy. My 2017 gets about 24 City and 30 Hwy. For this car to get this great fuel economy I don't have to break the bank for over $50.00 worth premium gas like I used to do for my audi. Probably took $20-$25 less which at this day and age every penny counts for gas! Throttle response and overall control of it is something that didn't take long to get used to, and I had the sport mode, so feeling the steering tighten up and using the paddle shifters every now and then for fun always put the biggest smile on my face. The fact that my car is awd but mainly runs fwd was something I didn't know existed or was possible, and when I first saw it on my dash, seeing all my power going to the front was an interesting thing to witness, seeing the power going mainly up front, and once we had winter in New England, seeing all the power divert to all four wheels equally was truly impressive, so another win for me! 4.) Leg room. I am by no means average height, I'm 6'5 so having a vehicle that can accommodate for my height was my biggest worry during my time for car shopping. And I always remembered my dad praising the fusion so highly that his coworker had, so I thought to myself "why not try a fusion?" It was a car I never really took into consideration at first mainly cause I was thinking of going for another audi or a lexus, but man I'm so glad I went american! The first time i took a seat in my fusion i immediately fell in love with how it felt. The amount of space i had between the pedals and the where i was positioned, i wasn't even all the way back, and i still had a good few seconds of pushing the button back before i was completely stopped. So that was another win in my book! 5.) A true eye catcher. The attention i get when im out and about, at the store, or just in public, is rather.. odd! One question i normally get asked is "Is that your car?" I had the premium paint job so my car definitely stood out quite a bit and every once in awhile i got asked which car it was, which i tell em "its a ford fusion" and ive gotten a few shocked reactions! i'm not complaining at all. Getting told "Your car looks sharp" or "looks nice" is something you wouldn't expect of of a daily driver car. Yeah i gave some people the crazy look at first lol but sometimes details about a vehicle truly can stand out. Mine looks like the modern day fusion and lemme tell you what, the lines, front end, even the rear end, ALL looks so dang good! Especially under the sun. The only SLIGHT issues i have with the fusion is how easy the trim can be scuffed, especially dark colors. I had a passenger in the back seat and he dropped something that had a little weight to it and there was a bit of a scuff on the middle of my center console. Yeah things can happen but i wish the durability of the material was a bit more, durable i suppose?? And with the Sync 3 option, not exactly a huge fan of finger prints appearing on the screen on the end, but thats the norm of wear so i cant really complain. But that was my only complaints i got. My personal thoughts: Car worth having? 100% without any hesitation of thinking! Best option over german vehicles for the comfort? Absolutely! Best bang for the buck? No doubt about it You want something stylish, comfortable, efficient on gas, a little sporty, and fun to drive? The fusion is the car to go! Once my old brute is run to the ground, getting myself another, THAT'S how much i love fusions!

I used to say I hated this car. It was my father's, not my own. However, I grew to like it. It was quick, a little sporty, and definitely comfortable, but wow did it have its issues. It's a decent family car. If it was more reliable, it would be deserving of a better rating.

I have owned the car for 1 year and 12000 miles. I have taken three long trips over 1200 miles each and was quite comfortable. My SE came loaded with all the safety features and luxury packages. It listed out at $35000 and I got it for $28,000 new. I have a fun S curve over some railroad track so it is up and down and reverse camber. I can go through this road section at the same speed as I drove my Miata. Handling is great and the looks are better. I have owned a lot of cars and this is my second most favorite behind only my 1963 Corvette.

I hate the day I bought this thing. It even came with a dead battery. Dealer had to replace it. Another dealer tried to stick me with a new tire said it had a nail In it turned out to be a small rock. Memory seats don't work right. WILL NEVER CONSIDER BUYING A FORD PRODUCT AGAIN!!!!

3.5mm audio jack missing

Starting in 2016 the Fusion doesn’t have an input 3.5mm audio jack. It was replaced with a 2.0 USB plug in. Very frustrating because all converters I tried for USB to 3.5 won’t work with Ford Sync. Im an Uber driver and my riders can’t plug in anymore. Bluetooth for every rider, give me a break.
