Used 2005 Ford Focus Consumer Reviews
excellent car for a low price
As far as I'm concerned...I think that Ford has a excellent car in the Focus. It has a lot of pep, and gets good gas mileage. I've done two tests so far and have reached 32 mpg on average. Thats about 70% stop and go 30% highway. You can pay 3-6K more for a Honda or Toyota ... but what you are really paying for is the history that it's reliable. I'd take the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty then my chances afterwards...and pocket the $6,000.
Hard to Shift Focus
I have a 5 speed which is almost impossible to shift since the engine RPMs don't come down following acceleration in each gear. I bring it up to 3000 in first and it just stays there. Ford and my dealer both say "that's life". I hate this car, wish I had never bought it. It has a 6CD stereo which will not load the CDs. Bob

great car
Great car. Extremely fun, very solid, excellent value
So much fun
The first car I owned was the 2002 Focus. it was a great car but I traded it in for my '05. An even better car. It has a smooth quiet ride. Wonderful pick up and no matter where I am driving I always seem to get looked at and comments about my car's charcter and style. I wouldnt trade it in for the world.
fun to drive
A fun to drive econobox. A sporty suspension, an engine with some spunk and all the amenities that make it as enjoyable to drive as my Miata.
