Great Car

Being new parents, we were attracted to this model for really three reasons; safety, reliability, and the roomy interior. The high roofline really is nice when loading the baby in and out of the back seat. In July, we took a 9-hour car trip through the mountains and it was impressive. I don't understand the "lack of power" issue this car climbed those hill effortlessly. I think many are thrown off by the smooth transmission and mistake that for a lack of power. It doesn't feel like you are travelig that fast, then you glance down at the speedometer and say whoa. This is a great vehicle and we are so impressed that when we replace our other vehicle, we'll be replacing it with a Freestyle.

transaxle seals

My 500 front transaxle seals both failed at 4,400 miles and it took them 13 days to receive and then install the seals. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. I'm wondering if this is going to be a recall issue.

Only had it for about a month, can see it will be a great car that will help with the budget due to gas mileage. Pretty sporty inside and out. Enjoy driving it.

Not Quite As Good As Taurus

2005 Ford Five Hundred Limited AWD 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl CVT)

This is a good car for the money - features compare quite favorably to the Cadillac STS, which lists at over $40K. Engine offers plenty of power with the CVT, although it is noisy. The build quality is very good, but I liked my 2003 Taurus a little better. It's a little uncomfortable. The front door panels have something at the forward end that protrudes into your leg.

Ford 500 Limited

When I first saw the new 500 I had to go test drive them. We drove the SEL and the Limited. I noticed the difference between cloth and leather and decided to purchase the top of the line Limited. I have had nothing less than a great experience so far. I have even had people come up to me and ask me all about it. I've even had people, when stopped at a stop light pull up along side me & wave to get my attention. I open the window and they say wow is that the new Ford? I thought it was a Mercedes until I got closer and saw the Ford emblem. My car is the Merlot Metallic Red with Pebble leather interior and the controls on the steering wheel make it easier to change different things. Love It!
