2014 Ford Fiesta Titanium 4dr Hatchback (1.6L 4cyl 5M)

It's a small compact car I got for my wife. Have only had about a month, but seems very nice. Got it with 11,000 miles. My wife uses locally, but it's pretty decent. The pick up is good for a little car. It's titanium model so it loaded with extras, heated seats, navigation, leather seats, moon roof. Anyway car was $11,000, it's 2014, so no complaints so far. UPDATE Bought from dealership in Feb 2017. Put about 2000 miles on car last year, not much. Transmission needed TCM module and new clutch in transmission. Was covered by warranty, but 13,000 miles? Had to replace front pads and rotors. Not sure if from past owner, but 13,000...really. Now the switch on power mirrors not working, and needs new motor for blend door on front defrost because makes loud noise.

Great when 3yrs-36,000 miles NEW, ages hard & fast

I'm truly sad this car turned out so terribly. BUT - here is *MY* final word: I genuinely loved this car when it was new. I bought a 2014 Fiesta Titanium sedan, automatic 6-speed "Powershift" transmission, with six miles on the odometer the summer of 2014. For the first three years, this car ran SPECTACULARLY and was completely trouble-free. I was thrilled to have a car that reflected all the positive reviews. Fortunately, I purchased both the Ford extended warranty and the Ford service contract: these purchases proved wise, six years on. Just after the standard 3-year, 36,000 mile warranty expired, I had my first major transmission issue (complete failure). This repair took a total of five (right - FIVE) attempts to address and involved reprogramming the tran, replacing clutches in the tran, getting a new motherboard for the tran, flashing and re-flashing the motherboard in the tran, new software for the tran, etc. As of this date, I'm actually unsure the problem is truly fixed: I have no faith the car will remain running - so I never leave the city where I live. Please note there is a class-action lawsuit against Ford regarding this faulty transmission: Ford went ahead and sold a transmission it knew did not work over any length of time. Somewhere in the time-frame these transmission issues started, I discovered a small amount of water in the trunk. At first, I just dismissed this water as "noise" as it seemed trivial compared to the transmission issue. That dismissal was a foolish move on my part. Eventually, the water volume became sufficient to require a trip to the dealer: one day, loading groceries into the back seat, I noted water dripping into the cabin from the top-right of the rear windshield, trickle along the back of the rear seat, and disappear below... so I popped the trunk. I found a goodly-gallon of water in my all-weather trunk-liner (thank HEAVEN that I purchased that feature). Heading into my third attempt to fix this problem in Summer, 2020, my dealer informed me that, if a welded seam is responsible for the leak, despite the warranty and service contract, I will have to pay. Two prior attempts to fix this leak failed. Per the dealer, Ford classifies body seams as "cosmetic," not "functional" (I kid you not - how a company can stay in business with this mentality is beyond me). I finally decided keeping this vehicle was a bad decision - that a car should work properly in the first six years, 45,000 miles (7,500 miles a year!) if maintained per manufacturer specs & garaged nightly. So, I have purchased another car. *NOT* a Ford. In fact, NEVER AGAIN a Ford. After this experience,my impression is "Ford Quality" ends at the surface paint, as that still looks stellar. "Shiny" is nice. "Runs well," however, is absolutely necessary - and this car stopped running well into year 3. I'm sad to write this review and sad to part with the car, too, but the car must work - or I don't! Thanks for reading. Cheers! May 2020 UPDATE - Edmunds asked for an update to my review. This is the only "add" I have. The Honda I bought to replace this Ford is *FAR* superior to the Ford. "Fix Or Repair Daily" really does apply. I'll never, ever buy Ford again: Ford did better with the Pinto. Honda, however, got their vehicle right.

My 22 year old son and I needed a car after a lady wrecked his new scooter. We went after the least expensive safe new car we could find and the Ford Fiesta came thru big time. We can't believe what a great value this fun to drive car is. No complaints, just Love!

Purchased this vehicle about a month ago while looking for a small city vehicle with a manual transmission that was easy to learn and fun to drive. I tried the Fiat 500, Mini Cooper, and while deciding to look at American models I noticed that the 2014 Fiesta had a similar front as the 2013 Fusion. After swinging and missing at the first ford dealership, I finally found one and it looked stunning. I test drove it and purchased it on the spot. I got the Sedan SE (looked less sporty) in the candy blue color (I'm not sure why, but it just stood out). So far, I love the car. It has great pickup, easy throws for the clutch, and gets great gas mileage. Not to mention easy parking in the city.

I needed a small car to commute into the city that was fun to drive and economical to buy & maintain. Previous cars had been Japanese or German, so this was the first American car I ever bought! The ST is remarkably different from anything I'd ever driven before. The 1.6 L turbo is powerful and well-behaved with plenty of torque anytime you need it. The steering is light, but laser-sharp and precise. This car corners like crazy, with almost no body lean, and feels like it's riding on rails. Very nice interior quality for its price range. Very intelligent design, both inside and out. But be forewarned: this car has a race-tuned suspension and may be a lot firmer than what you're used to.

A relationship to build over time

OK, I will be honest, at first I didn't like the quirky transmission of the car. It NEVER did anything serious such as stall, fail to make the car go when I stepped on the accelerator or some of the other things I have seen in other reviews. The problem was simply clicking noises and a bit of awkwardness in city driving, where stopping and changing speeds constantly is required. Absolutely NO problems at cruising speeds in the highway (in fact, STELLAR performance in highway driving). At the dealership, they told me that this dual-clutch transmission is new technology, and the car needs time to "learn" your driving style and adapt to it. I didn't believe it and I brought the car back a couple times. Each time they downloaded the updated software into the transmission for free. I wasn't happy because I really didn't believe what they were telling me. I have now owned this car for 3 years, and it has grown in me, to where I can now recommend it. First, everything other than the quirky transmission is really awesome (the comfort ride, the power considering its small engine, the fuel economy, the looks, the interior design, the AWESOME touch-screen entertainment system/bluetooth, high-tech, great sound, etc.). Second, with time, I found that what I was initially told at the dealer about the transmission turned out to be true. I also agree with another reviewer who said that this is a car that you have to learn to drive. The quirks and awkwardness have faded away over the three years. The car really adapts to your driving style! But you also learn how to avoid the quirks. I love the car now, and I think that the tradeoff in the initial issues with the transmission is small in comparison with all the good things you get from this car. Recently, Ford extended the warranty on the transmission control module to 10 years or 150,000miles for free. I got a letter explaining this. I appreciated this gesture from Ford, and makes me feel confident about keeping this car.

This is my first performance Ford I have owned, previously owning 2 large Ford Broncos in the past this is a massive downsize effort for myself. While I am used to the massive amount of space, the Fiesta provides a shocking amount of room even for my bulky size at 5'8" and 220lbs. The Recaro seats are a snug fit and I would recommend any large frame individual including those of you who frequent lifting large objects in the gym to test them out before upgrading. Performance wise I am blown away by the power this little guy has. I have taken several people out in it, and after they finish telling me how cute it is I show them the power leaving them speechless.

I have an automatic 2014 Fiesta S. There is an issue with the lock/unlock button being in the center of the console. I don't have an automatic lock and unlock key so this can be very hard to unlock the car, then get in and push the button in the center of the console to unlock the rest of the doors. I also don't have cruise control. This should be an option that is automatic to the new cars. Other than that I love the car.

You have to learn how to drive this car

David Dawson, 11/30/2015

Okay... does this car stutter when you drive it. No. If you learn how to drive it. It takes time as the car learns how you drive and you have to learn how to drive it. If my wife and I switch drivers it does stutter. It never, ever stutters for me. Not at all. The trick is to be assertive. That doesn't mean floor it. That means to step down a tiny bit harder than you normally would. If you get a stammer you do not back off the accelerator as you would normally do... you press down about 10% more and the stutter will immediately stop. When you accelerate to get onto the highway you want to do that assertively. That means you press down the accelerator to 40% and let the car move through the gears without changing the accelerator setting until you reach 4th or 5th gear. It will be very smooth if you do that. Eventually the car and you will learn and you'll have a smooth ride every time. In exchange for learning how to drive you will get between 40 and 50 MPG on the highway. You will get between 30 and 40 around town. I fill the gas tank twice a month (and it only holds 14 gallons). Yes, you may have been fooled when you bought this car. It does not have an automatic transmission. NO. If you expect it to act like a conventional automatic transmission you will be disappointed. It won't, it is a manual transmission and it absolutely acts like one. If you learn to drive it properly, learn to work with its limitations, you will find it is a nice, little, pretty, INEXPENSIVE car. You have to learn to love it.

I love this car! UNTIL THE CLUTCH PROBLEMS BEGAN. UPDATES IN ALL CAPS....NOT YELLING. ;-) I got the Blue Candy, Black leather interior and upgaded Sony Stereo. It's zippy and rises to any traffic occasion. UNTIL THE CLUTCH PROBLEMS BEGAN AT AROUND 9000 mi. 40 HW MPG is as advertized. The interior is roomy for a sub-compact. I got the optional rubber floor mats, and they're very high quality. Opted for the tinted windows at Auto Definitions in Claremore, OK and it just looks meaner than before. Responsive steering, braking, and acceleration make this a fun car to drive. We've turned heads and brought men out of a barbershop to check it out! Love the car. UNTIL THE CLUTCH PROBLEMS BEGAN. GETTING THE DEALERSHIP TO LISTEN TOOK MULTIPLE TRIPS AND INSISTING THE MANAGER COME WITH ME TO SHOW HIM THE SHUDDER. Once I finally got them to admit it had a problem, getting parts took months EACH OF THE 3 TIMES THE CLUTCH had to be replaced . My son accidentally totalled it. THANK GOD. I WON'T BUY FROM FORD AGAIN.

Saved my life

I’m not going to lie...I was skeptical when I first bought the car. I went from a large sedan to a subcompact hatchback. I fell in love with this car. Even though it’s only 120hp it still has a powerful feel to it because I feel that’s all this car really needs. The steering is very agile and responsive. It’s no sports car by any means but it’s definitely fun to drive, especially on long country roads. Despite the horsepower it still gets up there on highways also. The transmission was a little funky but when I brought the concern to the dealership they fixed it right away and now you wouldn’t even know it had a problem to begin with. The room for rear passengers is tight but manageable and the trunk is pretty big for a car in its class. This car also saved my life and maybe that’s why I’m a little biased to it. I was with friends driving home one day in the rain when the car in front of me got cut off. The other driver slammed on his brakes and I had little to no response time going 40 mph in the pouring rain. I slammed right into the back of him and me and my friends walked away with little to no injuries expect total shock. My fiesta was still driveable and only had exterior damage to the bumper and headlight. In any other car I feel the damage would have been much more extensive. My car was repaired and still drives on the road today with no signs it was even in an accident. I wouldn’t trade this car for the world (at least not right now lol). If you’re looking for a reliable car that’s good on gas, fun to drive, and is safe then the fiesta is the way to go

The Fiesta ST is one of most well balanced small cars available! The power is just right, and the handling is nothing short of amazing. There are plenty of cars with more power, but none of them handle as well as the Fiesta ST. I was driving a 2011 Fiesta SES and the handling was pretty good in that, but this car is so much better.

This is a commuter car for my girlfriend, we leased it for her to take to school and for us to use for road trips. The best thing about this car that we can agree on is the gas mileage which right now is at 31.2 and the sporty-ness of the car itself. Its very fun to drive even though I don't tend to drive it as much as she does. The biggest downfall to this car is the "quirky" transmission or so its called in reviews. I had one of the scariest moments when I was driving it through an intersection pressing down on the gas ,maybe a little hard but nothing my own car couldn't handle , and the car just would not accelerate pass 10mph. My car has never done that and I find it quite dangerous.

I originally bought this car in a 5 sp manual with 45k with few non major problems. For one, the actuators in the car are very cheap and had to replace the fan actuator and ac vent actuators. The transmission synchros were under designed for the cars improved torque up to 148 ft lb. The main problem with car is the awful aluminum head with cast iron block design which causes uneven warping. This is especially dumb with a highly stressed small turbo engine leading to a blown head gasket. Now the car is basically totalled and I only put 8 k miles on it.

This could have been a nice little car. Unfortunately, they decided to over-complicate the powertrain and caused a headache for hundreds of thousands of buyers. A double clutch transmission that was flawed from the start, even before it went into Fiestas and Focuses for multiple model years. There are huge lawsuits pending and some that have already been settled. For people like me, who are not litigious, it's been a negative experience that led me to getting rid of the car after a couple of years; and taking a big hit financially!

We bought a Ford Fiesta 2014 in March. The Sound was Popping on and off for the longest time. We took it to the Ford dealership 2x visited 2x to complain of loud popping from the radio. They kept saying "The diagnostics didn't show anything". Now our radio doesn't come on at all the sound makes high pitch noises, scratchy noises, and terrible. We went to a car machanic guy and he says "Yeah, he had 3-4 of the same vehicles with this issue." He said it is the chip in it which costs $500 to fix." If you're looking into this vehicle please note there is also no physical Locks on the doors either which could possibly mess up and should be considered a safety hazard. We have had this car for only 10 months and is MORE TROUBLE than it is Worth.

SECOND UPDATE... Owned well over 2 years now. ZERO hiccups. Pushing 50K miles. Regular maintenance only. Husband still loves it! So easy to find in the parking lot in the lime green color, and those heated leather seats sure were nice all winter! 😄 UPDATE... Owned the car for 10 months now. Husband uses it as daily driver. He's over 6' tall and has no issues with comfort. Lots of leg room up front. Car now has 34K on it and we may need tires for upcoming inspection in November, but so far, so good! We bought ours used at a Mercedes dealer, lol, with 25k on it. Looks and drives brand new. The Titanium model comes with absolutely everything you can imagine including heated seats (LOVE this in PA), and backup camera. The navigation system is spot on and Ford Sync finally got their act together. Recognizes commands like a charm. Opt for the 5 speed manual, and you'll have no worries about Ford's crazy "automatic/manual" shift transmission problems. We get higher than the advertised mileage and love all the little extras, generally reserved for a luxury car. My HUSBAND loves the crazy lime green as much as I do!

Fantastic Car - Until the Front Gets Hit

Moral of the story - It only takes a bit of force in the front end of this car to total it, but it is a fantastic car before that! Just look at the crash test scores for the 2015 compared to the 2014 (didn't require the more in depth tests) on cars.com: "Front, Restraints and dummy kinematics - Poor," "Front, Structure and safety cage - Marginal," "Front, Overall evaluation - Marginal." If that doesn't scare you, then best of luck to you and may you never get in an accident because once you do your car is as good as totaled! Ford should focus on durability because the rest of what they did with this car was great. What I loved about my fiesta: Great handling, Smooth acceleration, Little road noise, Fantastic suspension, Nice entertainment system, Good vehicle feedback (tire sensors etc.), Amazing fuel economy (33-37 year round), and I am very sad to see the car go over such a minor incident! If you love yours be super careful with it!

Transmission troubles are real

I rented this car. The transmission problems that people speak of, they were present in my rental. If I was trying to turn left with oncoming traffic, I would press the accelerator and wait... wait what seems a lifetime, but perhaps about one second... then the car would lunge forward and clumsily across the road. Waiting a second when traffic is coming is downright dangerous, and when the car does start to move it really moves in a scary lunge. Just adding my two cents. It's been about a year since I rented it, but it was so bad I will never forget it!

I have read so many bad reviews on the 2011 and 2012 fiestas and i think the 2014's are alot improved compared to those. My transmission used to be kind of unresponsive and sluggish but a trip to the dealer and a software upgrade made it more zippy and ride and drive like a dream. I kind of lost hope in the fiesta until i made the trip and now i am really satisfied with the car. What you pay is what you get with this car. You get bluetooth with hands free phone support which is my favorite feature to have in any car. Sound system sounds great, i jam in the car everyday and everytime i drive it. Car is pretty comfortable considering the price range. I would recommend this car as long is it's 2014 or above as these are much more reliable, fun, and better looking then the older models!

After having had a Jaguar XF, Mercedes C-Class, Mercedes E-Class, BMW 3 series and Pontiac G8...I finally came to a point in my life where I wanted to stop blowing money on heavily depreciating cars that get crappy gas mileage and get something economical and practical. I test drove this little Fiesta Hatch against some other economy cars and this one was way more fun to drive, it's like driving around a little go kart. Not very many creature comforts, mine doesn't even have cruise control, but when I calculate out my MPG and I am getting around 37-39 mpg a tank in COMBINED driving...it makes up for it. Cramped rear seats but I rarely use those. Mine had a problem where it had clunky/sputtering shifting in 2nd gear sometimes on acceleration, and even though I bought my car used since it had under 50k miles and was within its warranty period the dealer replaced the clutch free. Ever since it's been driving like a dream. The fact that I got 39 mpg out of an entire tank of combined driving blows my mind. Very happy with this little car. Only paid $4,500 for it and it had a clean title and only 43k miles when I bought it...what a purchase so far. Not much room left to depreciate and my insurance is only $56 a month. Only spending about $50 a month on gas.

Okay will be putting nearly 500 miles per week on this car. I will wait while you do the math. I did go for the 100k 7 yr. warranty. I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't have that option. I have learned that over 80% of the population cannot drive a stick. Well that is bad for them and awesome for me. If you know how to drive one. Oh you will fall in love with the zippy feisty fiesta! have yet to meet a car that wasn't fun with an auto trans. In fact most cars I test drove didn't have a manny available. I do a lot of traveling and commuting. My morning coffee smells better and my ride is awesome. Its a fun commuter car that will brighten your mornings! Don't pass this one up!!

As of 2020,These models are so awful, they discontinued them. Tramission, They know it's bad. The front has a fully independent suspension, but rear has only a cheap beam in the back. And the rear bottoms out on bumps. Engine has Zero torque from A standstill when flooring the accelerator. The gas economy is not 29/39. My trip computer at 15,841 miles, says only 17mpg city and 26 on the highway - I challenge Ford to come and look. The only way this car could have ever gotten the epa estimated 29/39 is, in my opinion, with an anorexic, midget, driver and the only thing in the rest of the car including the trunk was a toothpick. lol. The transmission was rebuilt after only 12,000 miles. The grinding noise continues which is the result of duel clutches. And then rebuilt again at 30,000 miles. The trunk had water leaks causing damage to the trunk and stinking up the interior of the car and causing mold and mildew damage. It took months to correct it because the dealer could not find the problem, but eventually they did. The car was assemble in Mexico, not Michigan like most other fords. The Mexican people are great, wonderful, people, but in my experience, the assembly plant in Michigan does a much better job. They assembled it's cousin, the Ford Focus, which shares many of the same parts, as for example, the same defective 6 speed, duel clutch, transmission. Yet although the Focus still has problems, it's no where near what this lemon has. update: at 36,000 miles, the gas economy is still poor for a subcompact this size and Ford does not know why. My theory is because they over estimated the fuel economy. Even the Ford Focus, (I know because, my family member has one), the fuel economy was way overestimated and she does not get anywhere near the mileage told. But, even that said, it is a larger compact and she gets better mileage than our subcompact fiesta, and she has a larger engine. Visibility is poor. The back seat has almost no leg room for it's passengers - it has, but very cramped. For a car built like this, you would think, high fuel economy - guess again. The outside convex mirrors designed to help you see cars in the blind spot works somewhat, but then causes a misperception of how close the curb is when you try to park the car. Continued problems with engine warning light. But nothing is wrong. The car is warning us we are on an ice slope in the summer with 90 degree weather. Sometimes does not start properly. It's really scary. Would never buy one of these again and shame on Ford for not recalling the whole batch and just remodeling the whole line, especially throwing out this horrific defective transmission and replacing it with a real one that works. Double shame on them for not AT LEAST RECALLING and replacing this defective transmission with one like in the Ford Fusion which runs perfectly. Given a choice of buying these three cars in the future, (if i would even consider a Ford again), I would easily chose a base Fusion over these other two cars. It's slightly bigger, but more reliable. And yes, the gas economy is going to be a little less, but less headaches, better trip, and less repairs. If you really want to buy this the Fiesta or the Focus, I strongly recommend that you take out a 7 year extended warranty to prevent yourself from going broke on the repairs after the basic warranty expires. If you have to buy a Fiesta, look at the hatchback. For some reason it looks sturdier than the other models. ********** As of 2018 there is a class action lawsuit for both the Ford Fiesta and the Ford Focus - google for more info. I strongly suggest that you do not buy these cars for model years, especially 2013-2018 and even beyond - stay away! Ford never recalled them to change the defective parts. Ford is scrapping all Ford Focus production as of 2018 because the car shares a lot of the same defective parts (especially the transmission) as the Ford Focus. They are redesigning the focus into a crossover, skipping production in 2019 and that car will be available in 2020. They installed a newly designed 8 speed transmission (really? the newly designed transmission in the focus and fiesta failed for all these years and they never recalled or replaced it). You think they would give it the transmission in the fusion which has proved to be basically trouble free - dah!!!! And the car will be assembled in where? Detroit? Germany? Spain? Korea? nope - China. The Chinese are known for a lot of great things but car assembly is not one of them. I suggest you stay away from this car also until Ford gets their act together and once again proves to us that their quality went up. If you look at consumer reports april 2018 edition, or any edition after, you can see the repair history is poor for both the focus and the fiesta and they also do not recommend you buy these cars. Get it in the library or go online and read their report based on hundreds of thousands of consumer surveys.

This car is a death trap and an embarrassment to drive. The transmission is constantly jerking, grinding, hesitating, etc. This is a common problem that Ford is apparently doing nothing about. It should be illegal to sell a car like this. Of course the fact that the Ford salesman lied to me when I purchased the car doesn't help. Will not ever purchase another Ford. Can't wait to get rid of this piece of garbage.

I bought this car at 33k miles and literally 600 miles past the 60k power train warranty, the head cracks and causes the car to overheat and dies. Leaving me in a situation where I'll likely have to file bankruptcy because the only reason I financed this car was because I don't have the money or time to deal with constant car repairs. The issues my car has were recalled on Europe but no luck for people in the US. Thanks Ford.

I genuinely loved this car when it was new. This repair took a total of five (right - FIVE) attempts to address and involved reprogramming the tran, replacing clutches in the tran, getting a new mother-board for the tran, flashing and re-flashing the motherboard in the tran, new software for the tran, etc. As of this date, I'm actually unsure the problem is truly fixed: I have no faith the car will remain running - so I never leave the city where I live. Two prior attempts to fix this leak failed miserably. I finally decided keeping this vehicle was a bad decision - that a car should work properly in the first six years, 45,000 miles if maintained per manufacturer specs & garaged nightly. So, I have purchased another (*NOT* Ford) car. After this experience, I will never, EVER, have a Ford again: my general impression is "Ford Quality" ends at surface paint. #FordQuality #FiestaQuality #FixOrRepairDaily #FordSucks #FordisJunk UPDATE: the 2020 Honda Fit replacing the purchased-new 2014 Ford Fiesta is an utter gem!

The transmission has been giving me trouble since I purchased it 7 months ago. I've had it in the shop several times and I'm going to take it back again this week. The dealership said if I drive it 5,000 miles the trams issuing would get to know my driving. It's been over that and still hesitates or slips when I pull out. He said they had about 60 with the same problem. Then why sell it? Ford Focus hatchback 2014. Up date. I still own the car, the transmission is still giving me trouble BUT, I have a new warranty on it from Ford for 10 years or 100,000 miles. So I will drive it till it stops. I do regular maintenance on it through my local Ford dealership where I purchased it. Another update. Still waiting on litigation...still having the same problems 2 clutches and several complaints later....

Apparently Ford is aware of this and has a bulletin out. There are certain nozzles you can and can't use. Ridiculous. Had to finally get a pick in there with some twisting got the nozzle out.

Transmission failure at 100,000 km

Bought the car in 2017 from a dealer when it had only 41,000 km. Owned it for 3 years and only put 60,000 more km on it during that time. All its scheduled maintenance has been done, on time, and only at the Ford Dealership. They also did the Control Module replacement, as per Ford's recall. Took it for its scheduled oil change yesterday and asked them to also check a small noise I could hear coming from the front end. They said the entire transmission assembly needs to be replaced (~$5500 CND). This car has been pampered but hasn't even lived long enough to see its first scheduled transmission fluid change. Spoke to both the Dealership and Ford Canada and they won't offer a thing. Now I understand why there were Class Action lawsuits over this car in both Canada and the US. Sadly, the outcome was to only pay off some folks that had already spent out of pocket on 3+ repairs "on qualified components of the transmission". Ford doesn't want to admit that the entire transmission system is faulty. I guess its lucky I'm not repairing it so I'll keep my money and buy another car - which will NOT be another Ford.

I bought this junk - 2014 Ford Fiesta, yes it is JUNK (my previous colleague told me that ALL American Car are JUNK, I did not believe it ). Now I believe 2014 Ford Fiesta is a JUNK. The engine was not working after 3 years or so. Lucky, it was still within warranty (three month left) and dealer put the newengine for me. One year later, coolant sysgtem was leaking; AC system was on and off; Radio was not working; Today, I got transmission malfunction. I parked my car roadside, then came back and started engine to drive home. Then I got warning about engine and brake. Now, I cannnot start engine for the first time, and have to start second or thitd timres to start engine. I heard noise from engine or transmission. I do not know what is issue with my car now and how much to fix this JUNK car.

Stunning performance from the naturally aspirated 1.6 litre twin cam engine coupled to a five speed manual gearbox. I am a sports car fan and own a Triumph Spitfire which handles like a cat on a carpet, the Fiesta Titanium I have is a close second. Fuel economy can be as little as 6.1 L/100 km or around 46 miles/US gallon. This vehicle is an economical pleasure to drive. Many creature comforts and helpful accessories as well, the old Fiestas were tin boxes, in this modern iteration, Ford has a winner.

Bought the car back in June 2018 with 46k miles on it. My first car and the biggest pain on my back I've experienced in my short 21 years of life. Looking back I could've done more due diligence on my part but that's besides the point. First issue I encountered was the MyKey setting, the car came with the audio locked at 14 then to add insult to injury the speakers were AWFUL. How do they pop at not even half of the max volume? Couple weeks pass, and window on passenger side won't work with their button (would have to lower it with the controls on the driver side). Fast forward a couple months, the latch on the rear-left passenger door goes bad (recall) while on the highway. Had to drive and hold the door at the same time for 15 minutes (hell of a shoulder workout might I add). The next month the door latch on the driver side went out. After that I had a break and the car worked fine for about a year with regular maintenance, then disaster struck and the constant repairs started. First it was the terminal connector on the positive side. The terminal corroded off for lord knows what reason, and I could not find it anywhere to buy it, not the dealership, autozone or ebay had it, ended up using a terminal similar to it from an older Ford Focus. I'm just going to skip some stuff and get right to the transmission problems, and the problem is... ALL OF IT. 60k miles and TCM failure according to Ford mechanics, luckily it was still covered under the powertrain warranty and it wasn't even that. Turns out the car had a grounding problem, one side of the engine (battery side) was grounded but the other half (alternator side) wasn't so it was frying my starter. After months of dealing with the Ford dealership and for only $250 a latino workshop ended up saving the little car by just jumping the battery negative terminal to the alternator and for the last 2 weeks that I had it before trading it in, it worked fine but I wasn't going to risk it. Luckily my local Toyota dealer paid off the car in full (even got a check back, which was the same amount as my down payment... COOL) and upgraded me to a 2018 Camry SE. 2 months later so far so good, and I already got my eye on the XSE. TL;DR- DON'T BUY A FORD

Updated 6/11/20: After almost 3 years of owning this car, I can state that I am basically satisfied. The major trouble areas have been with Sync and the transmission/transmission control module. Fortunately, Ford has issued an extended warranty on these systems so there are no charges for the repairs. I am also getting some rust around the rea wheel wells, but this isn't unusual for the Northeast. Original Review: I was looking for a smaller newer car. This 2014 Ford Fiesta is great. The one thing I Wish it had is a backup camera. a year later I still love this car. and I still wish it had a backup camera. But the smaller size makes it maneuverable and easier to park. It is comfortable on day trips too.

Great LITTLE Car

Moving from an Isuzu Rodeo to the Ford Fiesta took some adjustment. Being 5'2" I expected no problems. But even after 2 years, I am still hitting my head on the door edge when getting into the car. Moving from a vehicle I stepped up into to a vehicle I sit down (lower than I am when standing) has been an adjustment. The cargo area is adequate, but have had some difficulty due to being shorter in overall length inside than the Rodeo. With the purchase of bumper to bumper warranty for 6 years has added a lot of peace of mind. It has GREAT value of gas consumption. I only drive about 3,000 mi. per year, and there have been several times I have forgotten about putting gas in the tank, for over a month, when I started with a full tank. Mileage is great. Pick up is great. For a small person, plenty of seat room, and room for my kayaking stuff. I tow a small/light weight trailer that holds 2 kayaks and after putting an extension to raise the connector ball on the hitch, it has been great for trips to the beach from my home about 1 hour away. For a LITTLE car, this vehicle has been quite functional and comfortable. Visibility is good for the driver and others on the road. Runs smooth, quiet, efficient. Upholstery is in great shape even after 2 years of beach trips and lots of sand inside. I have enjoyed having a little car, but look forward to moving up to a midsize SUV in the next 12 months, (Update: Well, that's not going to happen, unfortunately. Had to buy a new roof and A/C will need replacing soon. Drat!)

I went from a 2000 Ford Focus to my 2014 Ford Fiesta, needles to say I'm not tech savvy so im still frustrated a little. I haven't ever had to program my key to listen to tue stereo in my car I have googled it I have hit the mykey button and for the life of me I cant increase the volume of my radio! That is one feature I DO NOT like! Other than that as they say so far so good!
