This has been a great truck. It replaced my 1986 when it was totaled in a collision. The '96 did have a transmission replacement at 66000mi but otherwise great. The 7.5 engine does best with a bigger exhaust system.

Bought this 96 F-250 XLT Powerstroke new (owned 24 years) and it is by far the best truck I have ever owned. I have owned about 20 trucks of all makes including a Studebaker and nothing comes close to this Powerstroke. Would haul a 4,000 lbs. cabover camper and tow a 10,000 trailer at the same time and had no problems doing the 75mph on the highways. The truck looks and drives like new! And that is after living in Jackson Hole, Wyo. for 8 years and 16 years in AZ.
