Take my advice give ford time to work out the kinks on these things I'm on my second truck first one was a 2019 xl stx package 4x4 now the second is a 2019 xlt with the fx4 package and both of em suck in everyway possible shifting problems stupid squealing noises from the engine from what I can tell transmissions makes the dumbest cartoon laser charging up sound when you accelerate all of which is frankly embarrassing to me for the money i am spending I alot of shuddering when you give it gas and I just had to start a oil consumption test and I'm basicly stuck with this monstrosity because until somthing major goes out on it it all your going to be told is that all of this is normal which I know is bull but they know these trucks have defects in them but they arent willing to admit it at least not now anyway so take my word be carefull

This truck is amazing for pulling travel trailer

The trucks backup assist feature is the best feature I have ever seen in a truck before! I have no experience backing a camper and in first try was able to back a 36 foot by 8foot travel trailer half acre back through a 8.5 opening in fence!

My wife decided it was time to trade-in the Honda Odyssey for a new "family vehicle" as our two boys have grown-up enough. I did not want to trade-in my 14-year-old Honda Accord as it is my daily commuter and works great. The only way we can get the wife to go camping with us boys is if we use a camper, so we decided to get a truck for the first time in our marriage. We did not have loyalty to Ram, Ford, or Chevy. Therefore, we went out on our search with no bias. We test-drove the Laramie Longhorn, Platinum, and High Country. We want this to be our "forever truck" so that is why we test-drove the higher level of trims. We started with the all-new 2019 Ram 1500. I personally loved the truck. The features inside were amazing and the seats were very comfortable. The kids loved the rear seats because they reclined and had ventilated seats (which the other two did not). The wife did not like it at all because the passenger-ventilated seats blew out hot air...and it was 96 outside when we were test-driving. So that right there was enough for her not to want to test-drive it again, plus the fact that it was not as smooth riding as the F-150 and Silverado. The all-new 2019 Silverado was a great drive. The ride was the smoothest of all three (and yes, we drove the same route as the dealerships are on top of each other). The seats though in the Silverado were the least comfortable out of the three, but just barely. However, the big reason for not getting it was that it did not have adaptive cruise control. They are not putting it on the Silverado until 2020! ACC was necessary as we are driving this truck from the East Coast to North Dakota quite a bit to see family. In addition, using it helps me out with my road rage on drivers who do not know how to use cruise control. If it would have had ACC, we would have given it another test-drive. The F-150 had everything we wanted. The seats are the most comfortable, the interior is not as nice as the Ram, but everything worked which is necessary. The added plus of having massaging seats are great for long drives! There are reviews about the power steering not being as responsive, but I have not had negative experiences and it feels great to me. Using the new Sync-3 is not tough to get used to, and I am no techy. The transmission is very smooth and makes the ride comfortable. The boys love the rear seats and the space they have, but did like the Ram better because they had separate A/C controls and ventilated seats. The power that the 3.5L turbo puts out is amazing and it tows the heaviest of trailers with ease. In addition, the Pro Back-up Assist helps idiots like me look like a professional! I wish the other two did that...it would save a lot of honking at RV parks and boat ramps! The wife and I both love the F-150 Platinum. She drives it just as much as I do. 1-year update: We’ve owned the truck for a year now and have put over 20,000 miles on it. 5,000 of those miles were a long road trip across the country. We couldn’t be happier with the truck. The only thing that would make it better would be separate climate control for the rear seats. The Ram offers that and would help the kids out. Other than that, the truck is perfect!

Ford F150 SuperCrew STX

2019 Ford F-150 XL 4dr SuperCrew 6.5 ft. SB (2.7L 6cyl Turbo 10A)

This truck is probably the best bang for the bucket that you can buy. 2.7L 6cyl Turbo gives you 400lb/ft of torque. This will surprise you if you think V6 is not strong enough. The truck come with all basic features that you need and if you want a little more luxury you can add or replace the fabric with leather, add Husky mats, spray-in bed with Line-X or wherever you want. So, you buy a STX that comes with lots of features and add what you want later with time.

Can’t tow a trailer

I’ve owned my 2019 F150 for about 6 months. It’s an XLT Super Crew with 3.5 Eco Boost and 10 speed automatic. Up until I tried to tow my holiday trailer, I thought everything about this truck is a little better than my old 2013. Then I tried to tow. It is the least capable towing truck I’ve owned in 34 years! I would rather use the 1974 F150 I owned a lifetime ago! The back end of the truck just won’t track. I should mention here that the trailer is a 2006 Jay Flight 27bh. The GVW IS 7500 LBS. Well within the advertised capacity of this truck. I have towed this trailer with a 2014, and 2013 F150. A 2016 Ram 1500, and a 2004 Expedition. All have handled it with no issues. The first time I towed with this truck I got 5 miles down the road and had to pull over. The back of the truck was all over the place. I lightened up the leveling bars to put more weight on the rear end and it helped. I stopped 2 more times to get even more weight on the back. The trip home was the real adventure. With the water tanks now empty, and in a 15 km/h cross wind, at 95 km/h it was all I could do to hold on for dear life, using the entire lane. After owning 20 Ford trucks in the last 34 years, I am absolutely disgusted with this truck, and how I’ve been treated by the dealer and Ford. I’m going to trade it off today on a Ram 1500. Chrysler couldn’t turn me into a “Dodge guy” but Ford sure has. Honestly, if towing is something you’ll never do, it’s a good truck.
