Electronics begin failing in the first three months. With less than 9000 miles the whole center console area went dead blacked out. Before reaching 50,000 miles and during the first 17 months the vehicle did not recognize its own key fob and had to be towed from a drive up window after blocking their drive up for two hours. Center consul nonresponsive a second time in less than 50,000 miles. Transmission slips during downshift, goes to neutral, and sometimes park. Rear tires locked up and sent me skidding at 60 mph on a downshift. Buyer BEWARE. My vehicle has been at the dealership for five months and they Haven’t fixed it !

Dont buy until they address tail light issue

Ford decided to begin using a non-sealed tail light that is supposed to "breath". It fills with moisture/condensation on the inside. It does come and go but is more often condensated to some degree than not. I am sure long term this will be an issue for the electronics and metal, short term it just looks like total crap. Ford and the dealership have refused to repair it and have told me several times they deem this issue normal and acceptable

It is very convenient that my expedition has just over 60,000 miles and it’s 4WD actuators are coming on by themselves while I am driving. This is causing damage to the hubs. Furthermore, it has caused $1600 of damage that is not covered under any warranty. So while having a hefty payment, I, now, have $1600 during COVID-19. Thanks a lot, Ford so looking out for your customers! I will not purchase another Ford product. I can’t believe the 2018 Ford Expedition Max isn’t build better than this! Poor work! My local Ford, Sanders Ford, said they can’t assist with any costs. This should be a recall!

Bought the car last year around this time May 12 2021. Love the car cause it works for my family and the luxury of the vehicle. Took it out of state and my car lost its power, found out it was the cam phaser. Luckily I have a warranty on it and it was covered and I only paid $400 for new spark plugs and coil pack. Okay, back to I hope that was that, wrong. I had leaking windshield fluid leaking on the front passenger side, like wtf..how is this possible! Again another $400 bucks. the car drives great but here and there I still experience all the odd things that happens with the car. Going to stick with the brand I know that runs great, TOYOTA for sure. Never a problem with Toyota even the lady who works at the service center at Ford owns Toyota.

When I started looking for a SUV my first stop was to a GMC dealer. I drove a Yukon and like it. Then I went to a Ford Dealer and looked at the updated Ford Expedition. It was heads and tails a better vehicle then the Yukon in all of the things I wanted in a vehicle. The only thing that the Yukon had that put it over the Ford is the solid V8 engine. I am not yet sold on the turbo 6 in the Expedition. I have decided to wait with my purchase until Ford gets the bugs are out of the new model. Be prepared for some sticker shock
