Used 2014 Ford Escape SE 4dr SUV (1.6L 4cyl Turbo 6A) Consumer Reviews
Recalls AND THINGS that they refuse to recall
At 110,000 miles the coolant will leak onto the engine block and crack it. The electronical system can't really be managed because the system used is no longer in use by Ford so you can't do system updates or check anything in your car for that matter using the touch screen on the dash. You will have a problem with gas leaking as well as a problem with oil leaking. I have read so many reviews about the electrical issues. I had to turn my car in back to the dealership because I spent $10,000 and Ford had another $6,000 worth of repairs needed. The transmission will slip and the motor mounts will fail. Have only 115,000 miles and trans goes out? I thought it was me but I have purchased 5 cars and NEVER had an issue before I gave them away in great shape. Oil changes every 3k miles, engine flushed every 20k and parts replacement done before part failed completely. You will need a good warranty on the battery too because you will replace it A LOT through 200k miles I read. Most of them are not Running well I have read. Such a shame.

Fine, except the transmission
I would not buy this vehicle again. The transmission completely failed less than 15,000 miles in. I feel most drives are like driving on egg shells waiting for something else to go wrong. This would be a very nice vehicle, and it has gotten me all around the country on extremely long roadtrips, but it doesn't seem all too reliable and the integrity of the engine just isn't there. I've also had very poor experiences with Ford in general, both with customer service and repairs, but also in the ford roadside assistance. I was stranded with a flat tire in Montana a couple years ago and the roadside assistance guy literally told me to google the nearest repair shop (I couldn't, I didn't have internet access).

Not friendly with winter
Overall a good car for southern states & during summer months in the northeast. This is NOT a good car (FWD models) during winter months. Traction is atrocious with snow on the ground or during heavy rains. Too light of a vehicle.

Like my car
I like my suv and really like sitting up higher than a sedan. Enjoy driving it also. Thanks for your help in locating this vehicle.

really good small suv
this car rides well, is quiet, is peppy with the turbo, and is fun to drive. We traded a Honda CRV for this...just kept that one for a year. So glad we did. We have had the car for 4 years, and it has been basically trouble free...just an overflow hose replacement required. This car is underrated. Ours has averaged 26.8 miles per gallon over and over again, combining highway and local driving over 60,000 miles. We have always adhered to Ford's maintenance schedule, and found the car to be a pleasure to drive and own. Now we are looking to replace it with one incorporating the new camera based safety features which were not available in 2014.
