The Good, the Bad, the Ugly.

The Good: This SUV is an absolute beast in weather conditions. I live in Minnesota where we have crazy snow storms and icy roads. Never once did the vehicle slip- and mind you I had cheap ass tires on this thing. It cuts through snow like a majestic figure skater. Enginge is also very powerful and I can accelerate when needed. I'm an experienced driver and let me say that this car's AWD can compete with some of the best. The Bad: It's pretty cheaply made if I'm being honest. Had to replace the alternator less than 120K miles. Rear passenger window suddenly stopped died. Would cost $400+ to fix and I just said hell no, let me just tape it up. Although it's great on the road, the heater is terrible and takes forever to warm up. Also, car alarm randomly goes off despite me getting a brand new alternator and battery put in. The ugly: THE MOST IMPORTANT- this car is the RUSTIEST car I have ever laid eyes on. It's like the car was submerged in ocean water. The main frame is rusted. The rear panels rusted through. The rear door is getting eaten away. I jacked up the car to change the breaks and BAM - the lift points were so rusted they gave in through the jack and we almost had a terrible accident. BE WARN PEOPLE- please google 2007 Ford Escape rust problems and see what I mean. My car has less than 130k miles and I'm already looking to sell it- or junk it. Rust is so damn bad that it has very little value because the main frame might give in any day now.

I have owned this vehicle for 2 months now, I am pleased with it. Bought it with 32,000 miles, it is in excellent condition, it is an xlt but has several "sport" options, has the audiophile 6 cd changer with the 7 speakers. Mileage seems better than the van I had, the ride of course is a little stiffer though, the moonroof is neat, Continental "conti trac tires are noisy, will chg at 50k, my wife and I are both glad to be back in a Ford, Ford took the "high road", no bailout, and it has sure paid off.
