Never buying a Dodge Again!
It's a pretty looking truck, but that is all it is! We have had SO many mechanical problems with this truck that never again will we be purchasing a Dodge. At not even 48,000 miles, this year we had to have the transmission rebuilt. And all we do is drive the truck to work and back, no hauling, not hard on it at all. Each year something major seems to happen to it. This year alone we have spent over 3,000 on this stupid pos, the worst part about it is that we did a 5 year lease and can't get rid of the darn thing until next year when our lease is up!!!!
Fun stuff
This truck has been awesome. Taken it off roading, had to pull others out, and tows awesome. I use this truck to go to work, school, and travel. Only flaw is that it uses too much gas, but it has a lot of power so I guess that's where the gas goes. That, and also because of the gear/axle ratio.
Great Truck
The truck drives great but it loves to drink the gas. 11.2 mpg 360ci
Long term happiness
Had this truck for almost six years. Never had a vehicle anywhere near that long. Great power, pulls my horse trailer, my camper and has power to spare. Transmission started shifting erratically at about 150,000 miles, (although it was a tow vehicle since new) 5th wheel hitch was installed before I bought it. Best seats in a truck ever! Bottom not sore after trip to Iowa from Michigan. Wish it had more rear seat room, my family is outgrowing it.
Great design, poor build
On paper this is a great truck. Trouble is it could have been better assembled by monkeys. Biggest gripe is with the engine's plenum-pan gasket leaking. It causes the engine to consume oil excessively and ping heavily under load. I don't know of one of these trucks that doesn't have this problem (5.2 and 5.9L gas engines since 1994). It is neither cheap nor easy to repair.
