Still Not satisfied
Little has changed since my last review. The trany is still very sketchy. I spoke to corporate when initially doing this review, and they stated that they extended my Powertrain warranty but have yet to see it in writing.. the suspension has been giving me very faint rattle. Putting taking it to the dealership I was told by a technician that this was a common noise on this vehicle. I refuse to believe that rattling from a suspension is normal. I refuse to believe that position in this transmission is normal. FCA what are you creating here? Is this why you are phasing this vehicle out? Is this why you completely redesigned your platform for your minivans? Something needs to be done....... So I need to ask the public a question, I recently purchased a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan SE plus with a 3.6 liter pentastar V-6 coupled with a 6-speed transmission. I know that the six-speed transmission has been existing for quite some time and I have seen some of the reviews with some issues pertaining to it. Recently I had it serviced for a concern that I had when placing it in reverse... after placing it in reverse easing off the brake it starts to to have a rhythmic Shake. Gets worse when it is on an uphill as if you were backing up into a driveway it is most noticeable. Now the symptoms to go away as you give it more gas it only happens as the car begins to move in reverse. I have noticed it ever so slightly when I put it into drive as I'm easing off the break as well. While I was at the dealer showing the technician the symptoms he seemed just as puzzled as I was. It was disclosed to me by a service manager at this complaint has come in in the past. They went as far as bringing a brand new 2016 Caravan still with much plastic on it and the symptoms were very much present in that same vehicle. This looks to me like a design flaw or programming issue with the 6-speed transmission. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I am currently talking to the corporate office of Dodge to try to get some sort of understanding of this situation.

Transmission out at 62,000 just out of warranty
I am so disappointed with this vehicle and Dodge Chrystler as a company. The transmission went out with in 2 months and 2,000 miles outside of warranty and they would not stand behind their product. Please take caution. I am an excellent car owner and this was not due to any fault of my own.

Yes I Drive a Minivan- and Love It
I am not a very tall person (5'5), so not sure about how this can fits taller people, but for me it's wonderful. Kids have tons of room and even lots of storage room in the back. Car accelerates responsively, and interior is comfortable. We have taken this van on many trips already and no complaints from the kids. We bought the higher level, with lots of gadgets and entertainment features, well worth it! Price was good too when compared to others we test- drove (Sienna, etc)

Getting out of Dodge!
Update: Edmunds asked for an update. Here it is. Still a trash brand. I recently drove a 2019 300 with 7k miles. WOODEN TRIM WAS OUT OF PLACE AND DASHBOARD WAS BROKEN. DO NOT BUY FCA. QUALITY IS NOT IN THEIR PLAYBOOK. Dodge is an appropriate name for the brand since it describes what I will do every time I’m in the market for a new vehicle and drive by their dealerships. Terrible vehicles. Poor quality. Frequent repairs. I’ve owned several cars from Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep but I’ve had enough. Avoid this brand at all costs unless you like frequent recalls. An example of my experience... transmission seal leak on a van with 17000 miles on it. Less than 2000 miles later, we have a intake gasket leak and a cylinder gasket leak. The kicker... service department doesn’t even identify the leaks. Jiffy Lube does! Piss off FCA.
