Excellent balance of performance and utility
The 2021 Dodge Durango fresh has basically addressed all minor complaints I had. The interior is up there with the most competitive in the segment, LED headlights, revised suspension, 10" UConnect 5, and more. Combined with the R/T, SRT, and HC in particular, this is one well-rounded SUV that is able to check a lot of important boxes. Everything from performance to practical utility. It has 3 rows, lots of interior room, good reliability, and is easier to maneuver than a full-size SUV. Opt for one of the V8 engines and you can have all of the performance you could ever want. The only real negatives are a somewhat dated exterior due to its old platform and fuel economy isn't the best with the larger 6.2 and 6.4l V8 engines. But it's a reasonable compromise for the excellent performance and V8 rumble. The Durango also hasn't had the most amazing reliability track record, but my personal experience with the latest models has been excellent. It seems they've addressed the big issues. I've had countless makes over the years, everything from Toyota, to GM, to Audi, and much more. And this is the first model I've bought twice. That alone says a lot. Overall, the Durango is an excellent and underrated SUV that's easy for me to recommend. UPDATE FEB 2022: Still love the Durango, no issues. With the v8 dying off, the higher-end models (SRT/Hellcat) will only go up in value. Get one while you can!

Big fat lemon and not safe to drive!
We started off on our maiden voyage with this vehicle in 2021, and within an hour of driving it, the cruise control failed. I have had it back to two different dealership to fix this problem, and still no luck. Most recently, we were on a trip to Half Moon Bay and we were driving in the Santa Cruz mountains when this piece of junk fell apart on us. On a very windy road, suddenly I received multiple warning lights in the instrument cluster such as: service shifter, service engine, service trailer brake, service SOS system. Soon after these warning lights popped up, the vehicle became stuck in 3rd gear. We were trying to limp our way back to our hotel in Half Moon Bay when the power steering failed going into a sharp curve with a cliff. It was a very scary situation, as I had to slam the breaks on and muscle the car around the sharp curve. We eventually were able to limp back to our hotel. We had the Durango towed to a nearby dealership from the hotel. This dealership informed me there was a 'bulletin' about the problems I had experienced and that they had reset the system and the car was repaired and safe to drive. Long story short, after driving the vehicle over 200 miles on my way back to Reno, the Durango had all of the same failures occur, including the power steering failing. Luckily, I was within 1 mile of my home when this occurred; otherwise, I would have been stranded in the mountains somewhere between Reno and Sacramento. I had the vehicle towed to my local dealership where I bought the car in Reno several days ago. I contacted Dodge/SRT customer service about the severe and dangerous malfunctions this vehicle is continuing to experience, and I contacted management of the local Reno Dodge dealership as well, and have requested a buyback on this vehicle, since it is obviously not reliable or safe to drive. If you have never experienced losing power steering on a newer vehicle, it is hair raising and super scary, as the wheel can barely be turned when this occurs. Needless to say, it has been several days since I contacted Dodge/SRT customer service requesting a buyback/refund for this obviously unsafe and defective vehicle. My advice to anyone who owns one of these lemons, beware of these possible safety issues and stay alert, and do not drive this vehicle aggressively in the event the power steering fails. I hope anyone who owns one of these special limited edition Dodge Durango Hellcat's has much better luck with it than we have had!

Hellcat Hellyeah
The Hellcat version of the Durango is a riot. You have three rows, captains seats in row two and launch control. We have driven ours over 15,000 miles. Only issue was steering wheel alignment was off at the steering head. Irregular tire wear and cupping is occurring. I have the tires and wheels rotated and balanced at every oil change to minimize but the camber and caster alignment settings are more aggressive due to the performance nature of the vehicle and tires. We LOVE this Durango. Would buy another one if was available.

Durango Hellcat
Weird metal suttering noise when accelerating just after 500 miles. Steering wheel off the alignment. More miles I am putting more problems it gets. The quality is terrible. Be aware. Do not belive those YouTube reviews... only from real owners and those are removed. Do not buy Dodge! Stay away! [HTML removed]

Stupid Fun
This SUV is stupid fun and obviously not practical at all. The transmission is responsive and the super charger whine will put you in a better mood everytime you drive it. It handles better than our 2019 RT and the technology upgrade was much needed. My only complaint is that the cup holders are too small to fit anything more than a standard sized water bottle, but that complaint is not limited to just Dodge.
