2012 SXT plus wSSG
I purchased my new Chally a few months ago and loved it! About 2 weeks into ownership I was rear ended.. the active head restriants worked as well as the emergency systems. The doors unlocked, the car shut off and the interior lights came on. I was hit pretty hard between 40 - 45mph and the interior was perfect, the car crumpled as it should and the hit was deflected from the interior. I pursauded the insurance company not to fix it even though it only had 10k worth of damage they totalled it and settled on a payout. I immediately went back and purchased the same car - I have kids and was very impressed with the way it handled a hit.
SXT Plus, w/ SS pkg great alt for commute
I traded a 2008 Chev Malibu LTZ, that I liked a lot; but it had a ton of miles on it due to my long commute. I decided this time around I wanted something a little less family sedan, and a little more "Grand Touring." The Camaro was a little too cramped for my daily routine, but the Challenger hit all the sweet spots in a happy medium between performance and practicallity, with comfort and knock-out good looks. If you really don't need a sedan-league back seat, the Challenger is a fantastic car for daily duties. After driving it for a couple of weeks now, I am totaly impressed with how easy it is to live with in my daily commute.
I am in love with this car!
R/T Plus package with Redline - you have to see it up close - the paint is gorgeous. Tons of power from the V8, most comfortable seats I've ever had, plenty of features, and gorgeous to boot. I get tons of comments and stares - maybe because there are only a few out here; I see the Jaguar XK more frequently than these. Haven't had it long enough to really tell about reliability, but I have my fingers crossed. May not be quite as sporty or fast as the Mustang or Camaro, but look at it! Those are as common as dirt. And not nearly as comfortable. If you think you want the V6, try the R/T and see if it changes your mind.
Best car ever owned
Having owned a 1973 Challenger at 19 yrs old, it was my favorite for many reasons. But after owning the 2012 for several years - its my all time favorite. Like the original, its coke bottle shape is timeless. Add today's quality, reliability, comfort, driving characteristics, and features - its awesome. This Challenger is trouble free, quiet, and smooth. Looking at the 2018 model, the newly styled interior is very tempting. :-)

Challenger SXT Plus
Have had my 2012 Challenger SXT Plus for about a month now, and I am very happy with it. I am a classic car guy, so I love the styling, and I like that it is a very livable car for day to day driving, powerful enough (although not as fun as an R/T), but decent gas mileage. I also got the car for road trips, and it seems very comfortable on the highway, with a large trunk. Larger inside than Camaros and Mustangs, I like that for a daily driver. Don't see many on the road, at least near me; to me that is a plus.
Best Retro car ever
I have had my 392 Challenger for a year. I love this car. I wanted a Reline Red fully optioned 392 challenger so I tried to order it. To my dismay, the reline red paint was unavailable because of the tsunami in japan had made this color (and others) impossible to get. The local dealer found a redline red one and optioned it as per my request. It is an every box checked, challenger, except for a sunroof. I didnt want a sunroof (it breaks up the stripe)2011 Challenger 392. It came with black stripes. I had the dealer remove the black stripes and I had the exact same stripes put back on but in white. This changes the entire look of the car. The word I hear most is STUNNING. I will admit, It is
2012 Dodge Challenger RT Classic - Best yet!
To date, I have owned twelve vehicles. My first, a 1964 Mercury Comet to my current 2012 Dodge Challenger RT Classic. The worst car I have owned is a 2009 Mazda 5 Wagon. The 2012 Dodge Challenger is by far the best vehicle we have ever purchased. This vehicle has the Super Trak Pack, 6-speed, sunroof, amazing leather and a rocking sound system that can play movies, blu tooth audio and read music from a thumb drive. Modifications made thus far; Magnaflow X pipe, Pettys Garage Strut tower brace, LMI cold air intake and skip shift eliminator. Do want a car that handles corners with ease, has amazing acceleration and looks great? If so, this is the car for you. We love it!
Bought my 2012 Challenger 392 used
The fuel economy of this car is quite good for the horsepower given that you drive conservatively. If you are an aggressive driver the gas mileage will not be as good but, this is what I knew I was getting into. This car still turns heads despite newer 2015 Challengers on the road. My model is Tungsten with Black Stripes. The steering is responsive and the power delivery is fantastic. It did not come with back up sensors which is what I wanted. I've been driving for over 20 years so I'm accustomed to cars with no aides. The interior has some lite rattling in the C pilar. Fortunately after reading forums it's just a matter of the interior paneling coming into contact with the frame, a quick fix. update: The year is 2018 - December. The vent actuator behind the dash started going bad. When I turn the heat or A/C on, I hear the clicking sound behind the dash. 25 dollar piece. Update: May 2020 Front shock absorber I s leaking down will need to replace them. Unfortunately the OEM shocks for SRT8 are hard to cone by. I’ve performed maintenance myself for other aspects of the car: Oil change, brake flush, coolant flush, differential fluid change, transmission fluid change. The car currently has 63,000 miles. Still get complements. Given the recent quarantine I don’t drive as much. Still love the car.

My Personal Experience/2012 Dodge Challenger SXT +
The best car I have ever owned. The only problem I have had in over 81,000 miles was the alternator which failed and left me stranded. This was later the subject of a recall. Rear visibility is bad. The 305 horsepower V6 engine is more than you will ever need. Front seat is very comfortable, back seat not. Rides great.

GREAT CAR !!!
Had a 2013 Mustang 5.0 GT California Special. White with black trim and decals. Awesome LOOKING car!!!! Great engine! Everything else was a [non-permissible content removed]!! Leather seats ripping with gentle use under 40000. Cheap, toyish quality interior and VERY uncomfortable seats !!!! Paint chipping by LOOKING at it!!! 2012 Challenger quality is twice as good, comfortable high quality seats, equally excellent engine, roomy, handles well, little road noise and good ride (not stiff like the Pony)!! LOVE my midnight Blue Challenger and; as great as it looked, don't miss the Mustang !!!! Still LOVE this vehicle!! Will always own a Challenger!

World Class Muscle Car - But no Backup Camera Option
I purchased this superb 470 hp Super car for my son as an early graduation gift. This car has incredible acceleration, braking and handling, far beyond anything I have ever driven at twice it's price. This car in Metalic Blue Streak with Factory Silver-White stripes is beyond gorgeous and turns heads wherever it goes. I bought it fully loaded with Dodge's highest end GPS. Strangely enough it does not have a backup camera and you can not purchase one form Dodge or Mopar even if you wanted to. I called Dodge to find out what the logic for this was. They could not explain the logic or lack thereof. Otherwise My Son Loves His SRT-8
Challengers Get Old Fast
Dodge has a problem with Hemi Engines. After 100,000 they self-destruct. Had the Engine rebuilt for $5,000. New lifters, cam... Never ran the same. I was told by the service manager they rebuild 2 to 3 Hemi's each week. Challengers, Chargers, Trucks and Jeeps. Looked around the internet and many people have this problem. Dodge should do something, they know there is a problem. This is a great car before 100,000 miles.

Challenger SRT8 392, 6 MT, Yellowjacket Edition
05/12/13: Traded a 2012 Hyundai Gen Coupe, which definitely was not my cup of tea, for this. In comparison, the Challenger is a huge car, but pleasantly so. Needless, to say, the 392 is a torque monster, which puts a constant smile on my face, and the Yellowjacket paint is a real head turner. Gonna flush and fill all the lubes with Amsoil synthetics this week at about 300 miles or so to protect the investment. I'll review reliability at the end of summer. In the meantime, gonna have one fun summer getting to know this BEAST of a car.
2012 SRT...Going great through 25K
Moved from 4 cyl honda accord to SRT Classic, Automatic, fully loaded. I drive highway, I'm getting about 20 miles to the gallon, again 1 year 25K miles into ownership.
2012 Challenger Rallye Redline is a great car
First of all, this car looks great. In addition to the retro Challenger form factor, the Rallye Redline gets center red stripes, "black chrome" 20 inch wheels with red inserts, and in my car, a "radar red" leather interior. Set off against the pitch black paint, this combination is a stunner, and I get compliments wherever I go, usually "nice car," thumbs up or fist pumps. The rallye redline also adds hood scoops, fog lamps, rear spoiler and dual chrome exhausts. Performance wise, the car has 300 hp and is never found lacking in any real driving situation. It's quick, but it's not a car for racing. The handling is better than most people say, the lighter V6 engine gives the car a better balance. Comfort is superb, especially the front seats, the best I've ever had; the back seats are comfortable compared to those in the Mustang /Camaro. The ride is super smooth, this car was built on a Daimler chassis. The controls are logical, user friendly and have appropriate retro styling.. Uconnect system (bluetooth, navigation) is excellent, Sound system (Alpine) is very good. Trunk is huge. I have had this car for six years it has 40 k miles and have done nothing but change the oil and the tires. One minor cruise control repair was covered under the warranty. I do not drive it in the winter, which is five months of the year, as I live near Buffalo NY and a front engine rear wheel drive car would not do well in the snow. Negatives? Rear visibility is poor and access to the back seat can be tricky.

Bought new 2012 Challenger
I love this car. I bought the SXT 2012 model with the sport option this past November. Pros: I feel the engine V6 size is ideal: I save a bit on gas mileage compared to the V8, and car insurance is cheaper. I knew someone who had a 2009 Charger and complained of poor handling in rain but my 2012 Challenger has handled very well in the rain. I like the interior and exterior design of the car. It turns heads on the road too; everyone has a mustang, but few have a Challenger. For cons, I think its backing up turn radius is difficult in a small parking lot. But, I do not appreciate much of a blind spot as the reviews note. I would recommend this car to someone considering a muscle car.
Hard to drive it slow...
I love this car, and after having a Charger RT 2011 I recommend the Challenger V6, since it is more fuel efficient, the 305hp is still very fun to drive, and the insurance will be much lower than the V8. The look is the same, and everyone will take pictures and give the attention as it was the RT or even the SRT.
Best retro car to get!
I was in the market between a Camaro, Mustang or the Challenger. Of the three, I bought the challenger because it is the better of the three to live with. All of them have awesome styling, all have v-6 engines delivering decent MPG; and of course, all are American! But what made the challenger stand out was that is was more livable for the day to day stuff. While the base Camaro and Mustang feel like your sitting in a rattling plastic tub, the challenger wlecomes you to a nuetral black interior with better build quality (still not a bmw) and great styling. The bigger body means a better ride, but it also means its heavier. Definitly a great cruiser!
Smokin' HOT
I LOVE my 2012 Rallye Redline. She's a show stopper and a pleasure to drive. Since I cruise in her and will take her cross country, it was important to me when selecting a sports car to find one that looked fabulous, drove well, and didn't rattle my teeth out with every single bump in the road. Comfort is a key component of my Challenger, along with the strong look of a muscle car (no mistaking what a Challenger is), and muscle car action. I drove a Mustang and a Camaro before choosing the Challenger. Okay, the Challenger is not as fast, but how could it be with it's size and weight? However, it sure the heck rides and looks a LOT better!!!
Love this car.
I simply love this car. It is the base V6 model. Redline red in color. Would I buy one again? In less than a heart beat. People from small children, to older grammas comment on how pretty of a car that it is. Everybody loves the looks of this one..so do I.
Hot Car.... Very Reliable
Fun car to drive... comfortable, quiet interior.... excellent instrumentation.... super acceleration.... easy to drive and control.... gas mileage not so hot.... but if I wanted good gas mileage I would have bought a Prius. This is a very well built and reliable car that has plenty of horsepower and zip... I love my Challenger!

Fun factor and comfort
I made a great deal at dealership where I purchased vehicle Killeen Texas. The dealership where I transferred it to also great support. The only negative to car is blind spot. Use mirrors for help with this. I am female and the ride and comfort space in cabin is perfect. Easy to drive, great turning radius. I love the power to step on it when appropriate. I get compliments on color and look of vehicle from men and women. Looks like the muscle cars from 70s. Zoom zoom very happy still with my 2012 challenger RT. K update: 2012 still the best muscle car for me!

I made a good choice!
I came from a 2004 BMW 325i to this 2012 Challenger SXT. I had in mind The Focus, 2013 Ultima, or Buick Verano. Roads are saturated with Mustands and Camaros. Some pulled behind me on my BMW and looked through the rear view mirror and saw the Challenger's headlight it's grill, it looked intimidating, aggressive and from there I felt in love and wanting one. It gives me good gas millage better then the BMW. Works great for daily driving (I was told that the comfort concept was of the 300C). Nice trunk size. In the cabin a lot organizing compartments. I have it all blackout. It looks bad ass. ast. If I was wealthy I would buy two. One for collection and the other one for everyday
SuperFunCar
I traded a 2012 Ford Fusion for this car and I am extremely pleased with my decision. The MSRP was a little over 30K and I was able to purchase for 27K which is very reasonable for the features the Challenger has. I currently have 4000 miles on the car and have enjoyed every mile! It is black with chrome 20's which make it look great! The car is very comfortable as long as you are in the front. I normally drive on a 150 mile round trip and average around 30 mpg. I drive up many hills and there is always power to spare. The car handles great around curves. I have Sirius radio and really enjoy that. This is a Great college car! I have to hide keys from my mom.
Best Retro Muscle Car Hands Down
As far as 'bang for the buck' it is tough to find a better value than the 5.7 Hemi R/T with 6 speed manual. I think the 5.7 allows you to actually enjoy the car on public roads without feeling like you are running up miles on a potential classic (if you had the 392 or higher models). I did the Mopar cold air intake and the resonator delete and probably picked up 15 hp. So, yes the car is heavy but it makes for great highway stability and comfort. It is spacious inside - so you don't feel so claustrophobic as with some other cars. I got the silver with the black diagonal R/T stripes on the front fender/hood and added some Ace Alloy after market wheels with a staggered tire set up (slightly wider in the rear). It really turns head and sounds great. I had a 1972 Challenger which was awesome, but this one is years ahead in user friendliness and faster.

SRT8 comfortable muscle car
Bought new in Jan of '13 out of state. Have loved it in every way since then, though I wish it had the gps. Equiped with upgraded stereo/HD/speakers, 6 Spd manual etc but no sunroof. Drives incredibly well...comfortable after 11hr intrastate trips and have gotten as high as 28mpg really trying to feather the throttle. Love the torque and power as well as the manual control of the gears. Only one repair was necessary, 1 shock absorber went bad...and boy are they proud of them $$$, but I was able to convince SRT division to help with the cost ( it was out of warranty period time wise but only had 19,xxx miles). Has been flawless ever since, currently only has 35k as its a 5th in the fleet. Wish it had the later offered rear camera though. Nothing has broke and no rattles have emerged as some have criticized.

New is great but used according to owner.
Great car! I hate hate hate the shifters on the steering wheel! Accidently hit it numerous times each time I drive the car! The car has an annoying clicking sound from what sounds like a vent issue. A brake issue after taking care to three shops and hundreds of dollars later. Good car still but Dodge could have thought it through on some things about the car.

Classic styling AND ride!
If, like me, you grew up in the era of muscle cars, then this is the modern muscle for you. Styled just like the cars of old, it also packs a nice punch. When you are touring the countryside, this car is as comfortable as it gets.... When you decide to hammer the skinny pedal, she'll put you back in the seat at almost any speed. Were the hoodscoops operational, I would have given 1 more star to my review. The colors the Challenger is available in are fantastic, mine is "blackberry pearl" and goes from a midnight blue to a dark purple to black. In general the car is a very dark purple to the eye... Beautiful vehicle in all her trim levels

Great car slow acceleration though
Fast HEMI 5.7 but slower acceleration than most vehicles. brake's system needs rethinking! Blind spots either side in back. Not as roomy as others.
