Best Kept Secret In Ride and Power
I traded a 2013 Dodge Dart turbo manual for a 2014 Avenger with the 3.6 Pentastar because I wanted an automatic again and the incentives were high. Best move on a new car I've ever done on a new car purchase. All I ever read were so-so reviews about the Avenger over the years. But I figured I'd take a chance on it since it had the V6 power and some extra styling Bling. (I did not get the R/T, but this site did not list the SE version with all the add-ons I got). What a car! Super Comfortable, capable handling, doesn't look like every other Asian cookie cutter sedan on the market these days and..... wait for it..... POWER TO SPARE. Best kept secret , the 3.6 Pentastar!!! Fantastic!
Sporty Good!
The SE model I recently purchased is a great car. I love the Sporty look, it rides good, and runs good mechanically. The radio is a the basic stereo for this vehicle. No rear view camera, no navigation or touch screen options. I'm thinking about upgrading just for the rear view assistance. The windows aren't as wide as what I'm used to in a suv. But all in all I'm pleased!

Worst car ever
Update: Sold this piece of shit for the balance due on the loan. Even the dealership that bought it acknowledged how awful of a car it was. Clearly there is a reason they stopped making this model. It was a great car for about a year. Then one thing after another. Constant repairs. Weird unexplained noises. Electrical issues. Several people have complained on message boards about the same problems. Needs to be recalled for several of the issues.

My Kind of Car
I know many are mixed reviewed over the SE model because of its barebones technical design and engine but I love it. I enjoy lesser computerized features as it is a less expensive car to repair. The gas mileage is actually not that bad at all, not the best but not nearly as fatal a flaw as some reviews have stated in my opinion. The V4 engine on the SE model is definitely powerful for a V4 and its sound makes it sound closer to a V6, which I’m sure is the allusion that Dodge wanted. It accelerates well for a V4, especially for a car of its weight but it does fall a little behind Mazda is that department. If I had to fault anything about the car, it’s the design. It looks great but the look comes with some flaws. First is the same issue I have with the Charger, and that’s the cheap fiberglass body that dents at the slightest touch. Second is the huge blind spot when backing up the car. It’s low roof and tiny windows does make this car (with no rear view camera) tough back out. So overall, I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as some might say about it. It has its flaws like most cars but it definitely gets the job done.
Family of 6
I love this car. I have had quite a growing family since purchasing this vehicle brand new in 2013. 9 years later and driven from Louisiana to Pennsylvania, to Texas, never having any major issues. I keep up with regular maintenance. Repairs haven't been expensive. This has been one of the most reliable cars I have owned. My kids love the car. It comfortably seats 5. My husband is 6'4" and prefers driving this car. Now teaching my 16-year-old how to drive and it's been a great experience. I highly recommend this vehicle. The only cons are that, if you like a vehicle full of up-to-date features and technology, this is NOT the one. It is very basic. It is an advantage for a new driver. Fewer distractions. I recommend it overall, based on my experience with reliability and affordability.

Pentastar or No Star!
The V6 Pentastar from 2011 - 2014 was the best engine built by anyone at that time period. No goofy direct injection issues . No start/stop engine turn off at stops. No finnicky turbos. No turning off of several cylinders at cruising speeds.
This Dodge Avenger has been so unreliable
I bought my 2014 Dodge Avenger brand new and it has been in the shop on a regular at least twice a year. It is a lemon! I would not buy one if I were you! The Alternator alone was $600.00 with parts and labor. They had to build an entire new Ignition system that was not covered under any warranty so out of pocket another $1000.00!!!! Then the fuel injection stopped firing properly so another out of pocket $700.00! And now I turn the key this morning and nothing ! Battery is good ! Looks like another electrical issue with the ignition system. Totally unreliable car! I had to buy a used Honda just to have something reliable. My little honda has 175,000 miles on it and it is way more reliable than this Dodge Avenger!

Great car for the money
I feel like I hit a home-run with this one. 2014 RT Avenger was inexpensive new and I picked it one year used and what a deal. It’s roomy with all the bells and whistles but it’s best quality is it’s powerful, responsive engine. I’ll be keeping this one long after it’s paid off. Florida so no issues with rust so easy 10 to 12 years.
Newby to the Avenger Club
I just purchased a used 2014 Dodge Avenger. I have always been a Chevy guy, but lately I don't think they are putting out the quality of a car like they used to. So far no complaints. I had to learn how to get in and out of it without rolling out onto the ground first. The first thing I do is make an appointment with my mechanic to get all the fluids and filters replaced to give me a starting point on maintenance. I expect to get years of trouble-free miles from this car, unlike some of the other reviews I've read. I may have minor repairs such as a water pump, alternator, or starter. That I can fix and don't mind doing myself.

The Finest of all Lemons sold
I purchased my Dodge Avenger in 2015. It had 10,000 miles a year old and one owner. I had troubles with the transmission since day one but everytime i took it back to the dealer...they couldn't duplicate the problem. My engine just blew and no warning. Now i have a $7000 loan with no car and its only 5 years old. I will never buy another dodge again
Awesome vehicle!
I have had mine since 2015 ... ONLY problem is the battery ... It needed to be replaced, I hadn't started it for three days in the middle of a Mich. winter lol. I love my Dodge Avenger! It is a 2014! It is NOT used! STILL LOVE IT!! What I said back then!! DITTO!!

Great midsize sporty vehicle
Bought a 2014 Dodge Avenger RT new and it has been one of the best and most reliable cars I have ever owned. Has a fun sporty look and great performance from the 3.6 engine. Get 34-35 miles per gallon on highway if you drive it at reasonable speed. Great car
