Check engine light on and transmission went ou
I loved the traverse until the transmission went out. Only 3,000 miles and it wouldn't shift out of first gear. I hope the dealership will get it fixed, but I'm concerned that they will only patch the problem long enough to get me through the warranty. Update on 7-29-21. Traverse now doesn't shift into park when turning the ignition off. I shift it to park, shut off the ignition, and then the I'm prompted to shift it into park. The only remedy is to start the ignition, shift out of park, and then shift back into park.
Total trans failure at 16000 miles. It locked up.
I wish it was offered in FWD. Didn't want multiple moon roofs. Don't like you can't disable the engine's start stop feature. It's a very attractive SUV. The dealer would'nt offer the new GM 6 year extended warranty, instead pushed a much more expensive offering. Dealership was very pleasant to work work otherwise. Total trans failure at 16000 miles. Vehicle locked up in traffic. Took almost a month to repair. I have had a few more service issues. The latest one I have now is when I shut vehicle off it keeps telling me to shift into park, whitch I have done. This happens over and over (about 90% of the time) and alarm goes off and will not quit.

My 2nd Traverse
The 2019 is a much better SUV then the 2017 I had. Love the look, has some great features. The interior trim is just cheap. So far inside of a year I have had the window moulding fixed, the center console latch replaced and now the rear sunroof latch needs replacing. Interior noise level is very loud. Have had a metal sounding noice since new. Could be my last Chevy and maybe done with GM.

Engine issues
Engine light came on after like 10k miles and they replaced the exhaust manifold. Now at 39k miles there is an awful rattling noise and rpm is revving higher than it should. They are thinking bad catalytic converter. Sounds like this might be a frequent issue with 2019 traverse. Not happy with this at all!! So beware! Get extended bumper to bumper warranty.

Too many rattles for a new vehicle
Don't get the sunroofs. They are so cheap and loud and poorly made. The shades are so cheap they should not be in a car that costs more than 15k. They rattle when you run over bumps and the shades flap in the wind if you drive with the windows open. The dealer told me they hear the rattling but other Traverses make the same sounds so it's OK. This is the last Chevy I will ever buy.
