Used 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT LS 4WD 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
Great Ride
Im a Chevy buyer. Started with a Cavalier 25 years ago, and worked my way up to the Trail Blazer. I love it. Its stylish and reliable. It still looks brand new, and rides as smooth as the day I purchased it.
Reliable!
We purchased this vechile new and now have 80,000+ miles on it. Very reliable. Only repairs have been replacing bulbs (seems often). Expect to get another 100,000 out of it. Great to tow with.

Until I bought this POS I was a GM guy for 50 year
Piece of junk. Worst vehicle I have ever owned and I have owned over 50 including MG, Austin Healey and Jaguar. Poorly engineered in that air con line runs to back between frame and body which both flex causing leaks. GM's solution.....raise the body off the frame and put the replacement back in the same place. It seemed like there was a repair every few months. The gauge cluster went out. Dealer wanted an outrageous price. I took it out, had it fixed for about 1/3 the dealer quote. Final straw was frame rusting so badly the control arm mounts rusted through making it unsafe to drive. No problems with the engine or transmission but everything else was a cock-up.

Good SUV, Good for towing, Ext LS
This is my 1st truck, 1st 4WD, 1st tow veh. I6 does well w/ family of 5, 2 kayaks atop, and 27' x 4,300# UVW Wilderness trailer behind. 3rd seat a must. Don't like the front seat belts. 9- 11 MPG towing, as high as 21 highway w/ just passengers. 17.7 OA MPG. With high priced gas, I'm very happy with the choice. Durango wheel base too short! Saw some w/ flipped trailers (beware!). TB Ext SUV pulls safe! With the load I'm pulling, I'll stick to flatland. High gas prices make that easier to take. Wish they had higher standards on the body sheet metal, you double take to make sure there's no body work on this. Toyota would not attempt sell this quality!
Can't wait to get rid of it!
Everyone I know that owns one of these hates them. Mine is constantly in the shop being repaired for one thing or another. The very first time I brought it in for service I had a two page typed list of problems. The most annoying problem is the rear doors. They do not open from the outside (not the child locks). The Chevy dealer keeps "adjusting" them and they work for a few weeks, then back to not working. The performance is awful. Mileage is horrible. The list goes on and on. Maybe I just got a bad one???
