parts are being discontinued!
I bought this vehicle because it was the only car I could find that had a manual transmission, and I hate driving automatics. I was aware of its poor reputation, but I was in a position where I needed a vehicle, and I didn't have much time to shop around. It is painfully slow, even with the 5-speed transmission. The engine is also very loud, because you have to rev it up close to redline just to pull out into traffic safely. I can deal with those issues, but I came on here to inform everyone that parts for this car are in very short supply. I do all of my own repairs, and my biggest problem with this car has been finding parts. Almost every part that I have purchased for this car had to be special ordered. I went to the dealership today because I need to replace my entire exhaust system. They told me that all the parts I need were discontinued. I tried 5 different parts stores, and they all told me the same thing. I was able to find one napa that carried the muffler, but it was going to take a week to arrive, because it was a special order. I was able to find the other parts online, but those were in short supply as well. I was told by a knowledgeable staff member at napa that they didn't manufacture a lot of parts for the first gen sparks (2013-2015) because chevy didn't produce very many of them. This car is basically becoming obsolete. I would not recommend purchasing a spark, but if you do, go with one of the newer models.

LOVED this car.
I got this car nearly 4 years ago at 113k miles. Trans went out the same day I bought it, but come to find out it was a manufacturer recall. So got it fixed for free. I ran this car A LOT as I had an hour round trip to work. In all 45k miles I put on the car, the only thing I ever had to replace was the battery which was pretty cheap. Any replacements that this car will need are far cheaper than any other car. It ran good the entire time I had it. I do only recommend this car for driving in the city vs highway driving cause it is hard to get up to speed quickly as the car only makes 74hp. I just upgraded to a sonic which is pretty similar in design to the spark, but it’s a bit bigger and makes a lot more power. (Mine is modded makes 215 whp). I loved this car and would recommend it to anyone who is getting their first car, or just need a car that’s good on gas mileage. With the $4 gas prices here in MO, it would cost me about $30 to fill it on E. Great car and I would 100% get another one day.

2014 Chevy Spark LT2 my little red
I bought my car in 2014 it had 11 miles and now has about 65 to 66,000 most of it is just in town small town driving. The car is in pretty good condition it has never had major car accidents it's been bumped in the a couple times and those have been fixed. The interior is very good and has never been smoked in. Everything works great air condition heat the only thing that doesn't work is a couple automatic door locks and I need new tires. The car has been good to me it's never caused me any problems and I would buy another one if ever needed but I'm retired and I no longer need this car.

Spark 2LT
The Spark's main claim to fame is four doors and a real back seat. Compared to the Smart Car and Scion IQ those features leave them behind. The gas mileage is at least comparable and the sound level and ride are much better. Compared to the Fiat 500, rear seat room and access is much better in the Spark, performance is about the same. The new CVT is a great improvement over the previous 4 speed auto. So far I am very impressed.
Once in a lifetime
After a year of owning and only paying 4600.00 after my trade in, it is a standard of which is my favorite to drive...... the transmission went and that costing a total of 3200.00 with that being said, my good deal of 2500 trade in was thrown out the window. I have never in my lifetime replaced a transmission until now. There was only one used available in the whole United states. That's pretty scary. I dont believe it to be of chevys fault but the car dealer knew there was an issue with it.
