Used 2002 Chevrolet Impala Consumer Reviews
Very Reliable
My Impala has the Police Pursuit package as I use it as a police vehicle. This car has been very reliable. At 115,000 miles I have had to replace the cooling fans and the catalytic converter which was covered under warranty. I drive about 100 miles a day and it is very comfortable. The trunk is huge and holds all of my "goodies" and the performance is still very good. The interior is cramped with all of the accessories that I need, but it is workable. I would buy an Impala for personal use.
Edmunds Unfair to Impalas
Edmunds reviewers must have been on loco weed when they said Impala was "dreadful". We looked at everything from Audi to Volvo and settled on an Impala LS. The LS has a snappy engine, full independant suspension, and rides great. It corners like an Aston and has zero understeer. It'll beat anything but a "muscle car" in a dead heat off the line. Fully loaded, it's the buy of a lifetime.

2002 Impala LS
I'm not a car nut or an expert-but I love this car! It handles nicely, is exceptionally quiet, the leather interior is beautiful and I absolutely love my sunroof. I haven't had a single problem in 11,000 miles and I doubt that I will have any problems for 111,000 miles! Can't beat this car for the money!! Space, luxury, and affordability--and our dealer was super helpful and patient
It's good
I bought my 2002 used with abou 64K miles on it. It's run well, but has had issues that mechanics tell me are typical for this car. Had to replace intake manifold gasket, major work to front end including replaceing a wheel hub because of bad bearing, fixed power window switch on driver's side, had to have ignition replaced. That said, I still love the thing and I'm buying a newer model when I can.
Awesome Car!
We bought the Impala after reading so many glowing reviews on Edmunds and have NOT been dissapointed. We own the LS Sport package and love it.
