Great Car

2018 Chevrolet Equinox Premier 4dr SUV (1.5L 4cyl Turbo 6A)

This is a great vehicle. Rides like a car not a truck. Good MPG, good value for the money. Took the vehicle on a road trip and preformed excellent. The industry is going to the start stop engine and it takes some getting use to, but no problems at all with the operation of the system. The technology in the vehicle is wonderful, Chevy hit a home run with this vehicle

I’ve had the Chevy Equinox Diesel premier for 4 months now and have just over 7,000 miles. Went into the shop 30 days after I bought for 4 weeks due to an electrical problem, and going back into the shop again. The vented seat on the driver side does not work, the phone charger station does not work, and the sunroof interior cover came off the tracks and no longer works. The sunroof glass does not close correctly. I’ve been extremely over fusterated with this car! Buyer beware!

engine is not what we expected with a new car.

We purchased a 2018 equinox and have a engine miss at low speed. Took it back to the dealer and they took it out on the road and couldn't get the car to do it again. We took it out and it continues to do it for us at low speed with city driving. The Dealer told us that there is a three year warranty so we have three years to fix it. On a new purchase it was not the reply we wanted. Not good business either.

Traded in a 2016 Silverado LT, which was amazing. Fuel was very expensive with my commute, however. Thought the equinox would be a reasonable compromise of space and fuel economy. At 5' 11" the driver's seat is ok, but the center console is too close to the driver. Other issues include, odd noises from the roof at highway speed, ticking while in AWD. Wobbling during accelleration, infotainment issues, poor quality of interior pieces, water and snow ingress when opening doors, rear camera picture is poor.

Not all the same

Only a few hundred miles so far but so far so good. I think I got a really good deal on this purchase. The vehicle drives very good on the highway. When I drove the Equinox home from the dealership Iiterally wanted to take it back and tell them they must have sold me a 1.5Turbo and not a Diesel. It is really quiet on the highway and has plenty of power. Like the reviews I have read on youtube you can tell it is a diesel under the hood at times but it really does not bother me. It is a fuel sipper right off the lot. I love all of the electronics in the Premier, yes you can probably get by with the LT because of the carplay and it comes pretty loaded but I figure since this is a keeper for me I would go all out and get the top of the line premium. Seats are comfortable. I have two little girls so the 5star safey rating matters and the Equinox is easy to install car seats. This is a perfect daily commuter that can double as family vehicle when needed. I will update in a few months to be fair to consumers that are doing their research. One last thing. I bought one of these about a month ago and the paperwork was messed up so I had to give it back and since I did not like the way I was treated I went an bought another one at another Chevy dealer and the one I have now drives better. Both of them Premiers but they do not drive the same. The first one had a noticeable diesel rattle. The one I have now has a slight diesel vibration in the steering wheel at start up but the passengers do not, that was not the case for the last one. The one I have now has a VIN starting with a 3 so I am told that means it was made in Mexico. I am going on record to say they did a good job on this vehicle, The other one was not. Monday car verses a Friday car? Bottom line ...this is an excellent fuel sipping commuter / family vehicle. I absolutely love the idea of filling up once a month! I have literally been praying for someone to make an affordable diesel SUV. Updated the value rating. You can snag one of the lower trims for under $25,000 bucks!
