Smooth ride

The blazer EV checks all the boxes for a midsize electric SUV. The ride is surprisingly supple, it handles well, it’s very quiet, and the cabin is comfortable and spacious. The legroom for rear seat passengers is particularly good. The infotainment system is easy to use and has had no glitches at all. I have watched The range of the vehicle, and so far the efficiency is somewhat better than advertised. The one pedal driving is a good range extender and works very well. People have commented on the styling, and the deep metallic red is my favorite. My only complaint about this vehicle is that the rear visibility is Somewhat limited. However, the excellent camera system can help with visibility in all directions. This is a smoother more comfortable alternative to the model Y.

Update: i still love my Blazer EV RS....the only negativeis that it loses range in winter due to the temps. Also, i bought an attachment so i can charge at the Tesla supercharger. Would stii definitely buy this vehicle again!! .First off, invest in a home charging system to save yourself headaches. It charges quickly with a 240 volt outlet. I've been getting so many compliments on how beautiful it is...riptide blue with black and the huge fancy wheels. The infotainment center is amazing! Even messages can be answered hands free. Backseat are heated too! The safety technology is impressive....if you come too close to another vehicle, it automatically brakes for you. That was weird the first time it came on, but saved me from rear ending a stupid driver in front of me. This suv drives like a dream, smooth and comfortable with no noise. I love everything about it and feel good about not polluting the earth further. No more oil changes or gas....just wonderful. The interior styling is gorgeous with rocket looking air vents and ambience lighting on them that you can choose the color. Everything looks very expensive and well thought out when it was designed. Had a gas blazer before this ev and it drive bumpy because it was 2000 pounds lighter. You won't be disappointed buying this suv!

Easy entry for first EV

I went for the RWD Blazer EV for the bigger battery, more power, sunroof, and the better sound system over the AWD version as the lease deals were crazy. I love the instant torque and can get the back end to step out and play if I drive like an idiot. My 4 year old loves to do a 3-2-1 countdown for intense acceleration, and it puts a smile on both of our faces. In the corners, the vehicle handles well for a family SUV, not like a sports car, but far ahead of our old Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid which in comparison felt like a stumbling elephant in corners. The blazer EV is very easy to live with and I really enjoy owning this car. I have driven 3,000 miles so far, but I haven't used a level 3 charger so I can't comment on that aspect of ownership. Charging for a few hours a once or twice a week on my HOA's free L2 chargers while I sleep is all I need to keep it moving. I have had zero mechanical issues with the car thus far. The driving tech is pretty good; lane keep assist and the radar cruise control are great in traffic in the DC area, makes for easy commuting. This is a 80% win for me; so close to greatness but betrayed in the details and delivery. The car came logged into someone else's Google account and Onstar was not set up correctly either. It took two weeks to clear it all out and get the onstar connection set up. It was not clear what service was included until I finally got the EV concierge on board from onstar. Even after getting the onstar engineers on it, the AT&T connection is often lacking, so I often end up tethering my iPhone for my connection to get things to work. I live in a heavily populated area with great AT&T coverage so I am not sure if it is the cars cell antennae or AT&T and de-prioritizing service. The google maps work great, with a decent internet connection. I use the youtube music app and it works well and is set up with my youtube music account. This is the first car I have driven where voice controls worked and weren't a party trick to show off and then never actually use. I use them daily. Honestly the only thing I miss not having carplay is easy texting. The google system can't text a group, and sometimes stumbles with reading messages. Overall, the entertainment system took way longer to set up than necessary with a lack of delivery assistance and the connection issues, but its pretty good. There are nitpicks outside of the infotainment as well; the automatic rear hatch was so sensitive it would open if I was just standing next to the car when I was putting my son in his car seat and I had to turn it off. The car came with two heavy duty tow hooks, one of which was smashing everything in the glove box. The car only has one storage location for a towhook, so unsure of what to do with the second. I found a bag of plastic covers that are supposed to cover the jack stand locations, but this was not in any documentation that came with the car. Finally, while all windows are one touch down, only the drivers door is one touch up. Seems like a cheap thing to overlook in a $55k car when there are so many other bells and whistles. Overall, I like my car and just wish there was more support from Chevy for it.

Love it! Drives smoothly - good on rough asphalt roads and is fast enough for me. I've been driving the smaller Chevy Bolt for the past (7) years - and with almost a 100k miles on it (with no problems whatsoever - I decided to test drive the good looking Blazer EV. Got a good deal with all of the incentives involved. June 12th update: Still loving it! Solid driving. Fun to leave stoplights at a powerful take-off without worrying about gas mileage deductions. I'd buy it again.

Day one of ownership had trouble warning ⚠️ on dash to Shut down car may cause fire 5 minutes after that rear passenger lights start blinking rapidly and light go out. Brought back to dealer, said everything okay later that day same issue with light. Brought back they had 40 codes in system. That was 11/13/23 car still at dealer.

As someone who has been considering pulling the trigger on an EV for a couple of years, I went and looked at the Blazer EV on a whim. All it took was the test drive. I was sold. I’m aware that the car had problems at launch, but the software has been fixed and I haven’t had any issues. I’m glad that more EVs are coming to market and giving car buyers option to choose. If you are in the market for an EV add the Blazer to your short list. I couldn’t be happier.

Test drove a lot of EV's

I test drove a lot of EVs. Everything on this list Edmonds has. Kia I actually think is not the top brand like Edmunds says. They are all squished want to be SUV's. The Blazer EV felt like and drove like a normal suv. The interior is well thought out comfortable and luxurious. You don't have the model I drive even on here to select for review hahahaha, the RWD RS model, which I am getting 349 on a full charge 100% charge for longer trips. Again this vehicle is rated low by Edmunds for what it is. They say non bias but idk about that.

Disappointed with Blazer EV purchase.

Where do we begin? Excited we purchased our Blazer EV mid October 2023. Not even two weeks later our infotainment screen went blank without being able to be restarted. Scheduled an appointment and of course had to wait a few days to get in, the day before appointment the screen magically started working again. The following week, living in New England the temperature gets cold needing heat. Heat is not functioning unless using a hack of setting it to 72 using the app to start the car remotely. Once getting in to the car the air temperature is slightly warm and immediately changes to blowing cold air when you go to drive. Setting the thermostat to any other temperature, it continues to blow cold air only. Bring it in for service. One part for heat pump compressor is order and replaced. Pick up vehicle after being at dealership service center for 3 days, we were told we “sort of have heat”. Another part is required to get heat working fully but will take 10 days to come in. Bring back to dealership for second part to repair vehicle, infotainment system again goes down. 10 business days later we get car back in for repair for heat and infotainment system repair. During this 10 day wait time for scheduled service, infotainment system pops back on but has only a frozen screen rendering it useless to adjust any of the cars functions. Vehicle in for service, with NO communication from dealership on status for 10 service days. Get call from dealer that the heat is working and possibly screen back up and running but said there was now a camera issue. Vehicle still in for service with no help from GM or dealership as to when issues will be rendered. Frustration does not even begin to explain this situation.

I leased my first Bazer EV on 8-4-2024 it’s a white RS with the red seats for only $403 a month with nothing down. After a month my Mach-E was totaled so I bought the gray LT for $216 a month it would of been $206 but it had the huge sunroof both were 24 month leases with nothing down. My wife loves her RS it has everything she wanted and she likes the maps on the front screen, I love mine but IPhone compatibility would make it perfect. I owned an EV6 also it was a great car but was towed in 3 times because they were shipped with bad 12 volt batteries and if they go dead you can’t drive the cars even with a Jump. Not sure why they rated the EV6 well above the Blazer because you can’t compare the interior space and the Blazer is much nicer and the interior materials on the Blazer are nicer. I would have probably bought another Mach-e but they were more than double the 24 month lease costs. My son has had both leaf models a Tesla 3 series “not sure why people like them at all” and had two Bolts “he absolutely loved them” and now replaced one with the Ionic 5. I have also had an EV9 loaner and can honestly say the Blazers are by far the better cars. I realize that early Blazers had a software glitch but all first year EVs have had issues. I had the first Mach-E sold in Colorado and it had its own issues but I realized that getting a first year anything has its own problems. The EV6 bad 12V batteries, Mach-E had 240 charging issues multiple software glitches, the leafs had no rang and the Ionic 5 also had 12V battery issues. Anyone who says Teslas don’t have problems or did have problems isn’t telling you the truth they have poor panel fits don’t go anywhere close to the EPA ratings and they used wood trim from Home Depot to hold down a parts not to mention rusting seats and extremely poor paint. Go test drive a Blazer before buying anything else and I am sure you will agree!!!’

Many electronic issues including failure of the infotainment system which is where all programed functionality is accessed from. Also, constant rubbing sound while driving. Only one dealer in the city is currently certified to work on the model and told extended wait for replacement so over 60,000 for the car and 300 miles total on the car it is dead in the water at the dealer (for one week already and advise it replacement will take a long time). Not recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Better Than the Bolt Premier

We've been driving a 2021 Bolt Premier for the last 3 years. Really loved it. However, the lease was up and we needed a new vehicle. We got the fully equipped 2LT. It's more than a worthy successor to the Bolt. The ride overall is excellent! It has plenty of power, excellent range and is quite comfortable. Yes, charging from 110v will be slow. However, for local daily driving it's fine. I understand that some folks have run into issues early on. For the most part those issues have been addressed. There may be an occasional problem vehicle. This model is still relatively new and some issues may still need to be resolved. I believe in the platform and leased 2 of these for 24 months. I have no regrets and look forward to a much more enjoyable commute.

Happy with our choice in spite of what Edmund stated. No sure what some of you are expecting but as for the interior space, smooth quiet ride on all road surfaces and all of the convenient features displayed on two great screens along with comfort appointments what more are you really expecting. Charging time is fast with great range, 273 to 300 miles much like combustible engines minus the full expense & other service requirements. Face it, most EV buyers are clueless of their own experience therefore piggybacking on what others are saying, which is fine by me if you’re willing to pay for my EV. I’m sure Chevrolet will continue improving their EV as time goes on, at least provide the universal remote that somehow was left out, otherwise I suggest buyers focus on their personal needs & experience opposed to other opinions. In doing so they may discover the nitpicking of others is just that, nitpicking. BTW, we are leasing two more later this month. Perfect they aren’t but as cars go, it doesn’t get much better no matter what you choose to buy.

It saved my Life!

I had the SUV for five weeks until a 17 year old turning left going 20 MPH hit me almost full frontal and I was going 40 MPH. Without the whole set of airbags and safety features, I would be dead. I’m impressed with the solid structure and build quality. The seats were more supportive than my Buick. The huge tires very good ones and the RS trim leans towards sporty but slightly stiff ride. I agree with others that the speakers aren’t great. It charges 4x faster than my Bolt. I set it up for off peak electric rates for charging. The infotainment interface is fairly ez to master compared to my previous Audi etron which the Blazer and Lyriq was benchmarked on. The Blazer’s range of 278 is fairly accurate around town. Range is more likely 200 at 75-80 highway speeds. Can’t tell you how many people said what a beautiful car even the tow truck driver and people at the scene of the accident! It had 2020 miles and didn’t have any issues. I saved 148 gallons of gas the first month.

Deals are good, which is the only reason to give it one star. The rest? Hard to recommend it. Poorly, poorly assembled. Squeaks and rattles worse than my 25 year old Camry with 237,000 miles. Electronics are not ready. Screens black out for no reason. Hatch opens just by walking past it. Rear motor “clunks” when it engages! Heat comes on when it’s 90 degrees outside. It pulls to the right constantly. Dealer either can’t fix it, or doesn’t want to fix it because it would take too long, even if they could fix it. Chevrolet has ghosted me. Lemon law is my only recourse. Stay away!!!!

Post stop sale Blazer RWD

S Jones, 09/05/2024
2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV RS 4dr SUV (electric DD)
4 of 5 people found this review helpful

First of all I would ignore any reviews that were posted before the stop sale and software update in March 2024. Not downplaying what those buyers may have experienced but it just doesn't have a lot of relevance to the vehicles sold after the software update. I am one of the small % of people who has the RWD model which I got due to increased range, BOSE audio and faster charging. I have experienced a few minor glitches here and there but most are not repeatable or persistent. The two consistent issues (sort of) I have experienced are occasional issues with the rear power windows and spotty radio reception. As for the pros: ride quality, quietness, screen quality, interior storage, rear seat space, infotainment system, range, styling etc. Many have complained about the stock audio but I have no issues with the Bose audio, its just a shame its not available on the AWD RS model. Many EV reviewers don't care for this car because of lack of Carplay and the fact that it cant DCFC as fast as some vehicles like the Ioniq5. You do not have access to every app that exists on carplay or android auto, but in terms of doing what you need done as a driver/owner the system covers the bases and it's actually better to not need to rely on an external system based on your phone. There is a reason Rivian and Tesla do things this way. As for DCFC, I just do not use it so the fact that a Hyundai can charge to 80% 10 minutes faster really isn't that relevant to me. If you plan to take 400 mile trips a lot than perhaps you should be as concerned with DCFC speeds as the media seems to me. It makes no sense to say most charging happens at home (which is true) and then to make a huge deal about the Blazer needing an extra 10 minutes to charge to 80%.

Think Twice About Buying the Blazer EV

Jeromy Graybill, 10/06/2024
2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV LT 4dr SUV AWD (electric DD)

**Review of Chevy Blazer EV – 2 Stars** I purchased a Chevy Blazer EV on 9/21/2024, and while I want to commend the team at Kendall Chevrolet for their helpfulness during the sale and the nice service department, my experience with the vehicle itself has been very disappointing. The problems started almost immediately. I had to take the car in because the charging port door broke, and there’s a persistent rattle coming from the passenger back tire. While the service team was polite, the general manager offered little in the way of real solutions. The most frustrating part? Chevy doesn’t manufacture the replacement part, and they couldn’t provide a timetable for when I might get it. Now, I'm stuck driving a gas rental while my brand new EV is sitting in the shop, and I have no idea when it’ll be fixed. This is not what I expected from a new car, especially one that’s marketed as a cutting-edge electric vehicle. If you're considering buying a Chevy Blazer EV, think twice. If something goes wrong, you're left without options and a lot of uncertainty. Definitely not the experience I hoped for.

I have a Model Y performance and enjoyed it for over a year. We decided that a second electric vehicle was a good choice for our family. I was price shopping and saw a great deal on the Chevy Blazer Ev. Went from 56000 for the RS to 41000 with dealer discount, 7500 rebate and 1000 costco rebate. It drive better not faster than my tesla. I love the screens better and the Manuel volume and AC buttons are hugh plus.

After researching a New E SUV for my Wife, we leased the New Blazer. Was pleasantly surprised with the display as well as newer technology very similar to my 2022 M5. I know GM uses the BMW Designed 10 speed automatic transmission and reply pleased with their BMW like distance and safety features. AWD , Power on demand and comfortable .

We purchased an RS on April 13, 2024. We loved it at first until I realized there is no Apple Play. What the heck. I have tried a few work arounds but it is still very frustration. I hope GM decides to create a Patch to change this. This is not right. I am a realtor and I live in my car and I need to be hands free. To me this is a safety issue. Then we are getting adjusted to the experience. The EV is beautiful and rides really smoothly. We get a lot of compliments on it. But then...... we got re-ended a week and half into this. My car has been in the shop since April 29th 2024. GM doesn't have parts...What the heck? They are making the car, what do you mean you don't have a bumper? This has been a very disappointing experience with GM. To think this is okay? I'm making car payments and insurance payments on a vehicle that I don't know when I am getting back. "You are General Motors" for Petes Sak.... Great car...you have to embrace Google everything, which I hate and don't wreck it..... Enjoy... Probably will be trading it in.... GM needs to step up and provide parts and Car Play....

I Love this Vehicle

This is among the best vehicles I have had in this price range. It is comfortable and gets a great range on a charge. It takes awhile to get used to as some of the controls are counter intuitive and some have spent a great deal of time reading the manual but it is worth it.

Losing 60% of range during winter driving

The Blazer ev awd rs 2024 is a stylish looking vehicle with nice features. But I was shocked at the loss of mileage driving in the winter. Getting only 1.2 miles per kw when it should be 3x that range. So at maximum charge, the Blazer is only getting about 100 mile range, not 279 as advertised. Others have reported similar range issues of getting only 2.6 miles per kw during mild weather. It is Anchorage, Alaska and the temperature can be around 20°F or below. Even so, paying about 50 cents/kw at a charge station, the Blazer ev only gets about 8 miles for every $3.50 spent on charging. Whereas, on a gasoline engine the mileage would be about 3x that when paying $3.50/gallon of gas.

I was excited about EVs coming to my town, specifically from GM. After 22 years of buying their cars, I always enjoyed driving and the radio has a lot to do with that. This car, by far, is the worst experience when driving. The assault on my ears from the sub sub par sound system screams GM is living in the past trying to move forward into the future. A generation raised by Apple iPod commercials where music is the sound track of our lives; this missed the mark and has officially made me hate GM and their products. I’ll never buy GM again. I’m stunned. You’d think car guys would at least mention how [non-permissible content removed] the stereo is. They focus so much on everything else but miss this very important in car experience. Anyways, if shopping for an EV, I’m sure there’s better alternatives. GM doesn’t deserve attention. This car sucks. When will a starlink satellite deorbit into this car and put me out of my misery.

Have had our 2024 Blazer EV RS since November ‘24. In 2 words we love it. It’s comfortable, fun to drive, responsive, and attractive (we get lots of admiring comments from strangers). We traded our 2018 Traverse, so the only drawback is less room for our two German Shepherds, but I still smile everytime I drive past a gas station. We spent $1200 to have an electrician run a line from the house to our detatched garage for the tier-2 charger which, by now, has paid for itself. I'd buy it again!
