excellent value
excellent economy car. More power than we initially thought. It goes up the mountain roads quite easily. Lots of room for large drivers. Fun to drive and great on gas.
My little baby...
Frankly its a little petal pusher but all in all it is a great little car! The gas mileage is awsome..everytime I fill my gas tank suprisingly it is less than $20. Also the fear of parallel parking is swept away because all I have to do is just pull into the spot! But my favorite characteristic about the aveo would have to be its look its just soo adorable! Go get one.

Roomy efficient car
Lots more head room than my older smal car (Ford Aspire). Better than expected insulation from outside noise. Can carry the whole family in the car.
2004 Aveo Automatic
It has performed flawlessly to date. No problems whatsoever. As a large person the design is very comfortable and good gas mileage, handling, and ride.
Aveo - Nice car but not fuel efficient
The Aveo is a truly delightful car and my only complaint is that that it does not get anywhere near the fuel consumption it is reputed to have.
Not bad for money!
Aveo is made in Korea, a car popular overseas as Daewoo. KALOS design in Italy. I got only 24 mpg in street with auto transmission. Accelerator pedal become shaky at 65 mph. It's hard for the 1.6L engine to go up a hill; I could not reach 45 mph on Verazzano Bridge NYC. Car has slow acceleration. Weak engine made by GM and not as fuel economical as I sought
A move up from a METRO
Being a person who hates big, pretentious vehicles, I appreciate this car very much. I think America could use an attitude change to "bigger Women, and smaller trucks". One does not feel MACHO in this type of car. It is only for the intelligent, secure buyer. The relative luxury, when compared to a METRO is wonderful. Some zip in the engine, power locks/ windows...I am spoiled!!
Off to work
I find the Aveo a very fun car to drive. Its interior is extremely large for the size of car it is. Its not nearly a boxy as the Mini Cooper. My friends tell me that I have a new toy. I agree. I have named it Mighty Mouse. It gets pretty good mileage; maybe 28 mpg. If you need a car to commute with, its the one.
Fuel economy and driving fun
I needed a vehicle for a 120 mile daily commute and I wanted to start with a new vehicle for the warranty and safety and peace of mind. I have had the Aveo for over 3 months now and I am very happy with it. I just turned over ten thousand miles now, and the fuel mileage is now at 35 mpg, as advertised. The ride is excellent, handling is very good, and the interior room and quietness is good. I drive the interstate daily; its a light car, so big trucks tend to blow it around a little when passing or following them. Its also a car that demands a little more attention in rainy weather or very wet roads, I guess due to its light weight. I highly recommend this vehicle.
I love my Aveo
I love this car!! I have had great luck with the car so far and when ever I have had any questions the dealorship was very quick to get the answers. The car is VERY FUN to drive and has incredible room inside, lots of leg room in the back.
Aveo
I love my car. All of my friends laugh when they see me in my little yellow car but then when they see my gas bills I get the last laugh. Also, I can fit so much stuff in that car. My sister's four kids all fit and two of them are in car seats. People just don't believe it until they see it. And I have fit TWO 6'3" men in the back seat of my car with a third passenger in the back seat and they weren't sitting with their knees up to their chins either. I just love my car, it is quiet and smooth and it is really cool. It is just great.
More than I asked for
The LT with the manual transmission is a great car-period. Roomier than the VW Golf and the manual shifter is incredibly positive in its feel and throw. Build quality and finish are excellent. Controls are logical and well placed. The interior is spacious and comfortable, even the back seat will comfortably seat 2 six foot adults. The engine is smooth and quiet, with a wide power/torque band. Acceleration is very good. The car is fun to drive and very forgiving in its handling. Overall after the first month I have to admit that I'm atonished at the value this car provides. The only drawback is that in 50MPH plus crosswinds the car can be tricky because of it's small size/weight.
A great small car with much potential!
I replaced a 98 4-dr Metro (60000 miles)with this Aveo LT model with auto trans and all the options (MP3 radio, 6 speaker system, anti-lock brakes, etc.). The difference is night and day. This is a car that can be modified to satisfy several markets. Make a few cosmetic changes in the front, add a stronger drivetrain and sportier interior and this car will appeal to the younger crowd that wants a new car with style, but one that doesn't cost a lot of cash. The ride is smooth and quiet, and the engine is sufficiently strong, light years ahead of the old Metro model. GM has a real winner in this model!
Right Choice
As a semi-handicapped, eighty year old woman on limited income, I could not be more happy with this choice as far as ease of getting in and out, mileage, and reliability. Its appearance is in keeping with the much more expensive cars that I'm used to and can no longer afford. My only criticisms are that it will not accommodate towing and at any speed over seventy five. It wants to take off and fly and is susceptible to buffeting from large vehicles and heavy winds. All things considered, I would rate this a 9+ for what it is meant to be. In my lifetime I have owned and driven over eight different makes and types of vehicles over 2 million miles and taught driver's education, and I recommend this car highly!
Aveo
Seats are very comfortable. Sound system is good. It's fun to drive. Paint job is excellent. Ours is grey and pretty. We love the design of the back of the car. Ample room to store groceries. We are very satisfied!
Big car Little Bucks
I bought the stripped down hatchback to save gas and wear and tear on my Wrangler. My wife had hers for a week when I decided I needed one like hers. While she has put 3000 miles going to town and back with the grandkids, I have over 7000 miles already commuting. We paid $8950 each for them, and so far, no problems whatever. I love the roomy interior and ergonomics. Plenty of power on the freeway, with a ride like a much more expensiver car. When and if I use this one up, I will definitly get another.
What a great little car
I've had my Aveo LS about 3 months now and all I can say is WOW! What a great little car. Handles beautifully, quiet, comfortable, and suprisingly quick. It's an aqua color, and it really stands out. I get looks and questions about it all the time. Living in rural Iowa, people come up to me and their first question is usually, "what is that?" I love it GM! Keep up the good work.
I love this car
I bought my car a little over a year ago. This has been the best car I've ever had. It gets great gas mileage, is fun to drive, fairly comfortable, and it has an amazing amount of room inside for being no bigger then it is. So far, it has also been the most reliable car I've ever had. Althought I would never shop at this dealer again, I would buy this car again.
Great Little Car!
Remember what you're buying this car for. She's a great little economy car- nothing fancy, but she still gets a lot of "thumbs up" on the highway from teenagers and old folks. The 1600 4- cyl scoots pretty well considering I have an automatic. I travel a lot of highway miles and keep it around 70mph constantly. Consistently get around 34 mpg. Not even close to my old Festiva's 44 mpg, but this is a much better built car. It has tons of storage when the rear seat is folded down. Best $11,000 car you can buy.
Excellent, Fun, Blue Flame Special
We originally got this car for our daughter when hers needed to be replaced. My wife insisted on one with pinstripes and blue flames on the doors. We drove the car for that weekend and decided to keep it for ourselves with our daughter getting my current car. The car has terrific interior space. It rides as well as cars more than twice the price. As for fun, I've had several Corvettes, and except for sheer acceleration, this car is as big of a blast to drive. Folks seem to like the quirky styling. It was rear ended (about 5 mph) by some fool a couple months ago and the car took the impact very well with only minor damage to the bumper and one fender. It's had no warranty issues at all.
I llove this little blue car!
I am delighted with my car! I did not have a lot of cash, but this car is so worth every penny! The gas mileage isn't what I had hoped for, but we have had a hot summer and I run the AC all the time, and still make it up the hills going 70+ mph! Great torque in 1st and 2nd, a little more dog in 3,4,and 5th gears. I get quite a few compliments on this car. People like the way it looks. I can almost cut traffic like a motorcycle in it. Just kidding, officer.
My lemon
I bought this car only a few months ago and it has been in the shop at least 10 times it sometimes will only go 25 miles an hour. It runs rough and the list goes on.
Love My Aveo
Just a lovely car to drive. Fuel economy is excellent. Ours is getting 32 mpg city & 37 mpg highway with automatic transmission
My Aveo called Zippy
We have show dogs and just love this zippy little car. We just put 2 fold down crates and 2 soft crates and 4 days of suplys to show the 2 dogs for 4 days after we drove 8 hours one way. We saved so much in gas that we got to step out for a real nice dinner. We will be useing this new car for a wile to head to dog shows. Oh, and the dogs we show are Afghan Hounds they are about 50 lbs. each and about 26 inches tall. The back seats come out to make lots of room.
Aveo = Affordability, Economy.
Not a great looking ride, nothing to show off or be proud of. But if you want a new car with payments that are easy to make, great gas mileage, and not a fortune to insure, this car is great. No complaints
Perfect for the Price
This is a perfect little car if you're looking for something affordable, not too flashy, but still reliable. I have the manual transmission and although it was listed at 28 mpg in the city, I get 31 consistently and nearly 40 mpg on the highway. If it's lacking anything, it's top speed, but the speed limit is 75 anyway, right? If you don't feel like spending $17,000 just so you can say you drive a Civic, buy yourself an Aveo. It's every bit as fun to drive, versatile, roomy, and a lot cheaper.
Nice car
Fun to drive.Car is used just to and from work. Lots of room . I am 6ft 1 and 250lbs no problem. Easy to park.
My 2005 Aveo
This car has been great! I drove an '03 Impala, which I miss, but the gas mileage is worth the down-grade. Since I bought my Aveo during the GM employee pricing, I got the LT version with all the toys for around $12,600, including a sun roof. I've been approached by several co-workers, and friends asking me about it. It's a fun car!
I Love My Aveo
It is a fun car to drive, kinda like a super go-cart for big kids. I really like the way this car drives and it is peppy for being only 1.6L--a great city car and good for short trips (200-350 miles).
I love my Metro all grown up!!
I fell in love with this car and I knew I had to have it as soon as I saw it. It reminds me so much of my little blue Metro that I bought in 1994. Those engines in those cars did stink when they got old but they were so much fun to drive. Great on gas too. I have a few beefs though about the Aveo. I don't think the blue was sharp enough. I hated the pastel blue and the other blue just did not pop. So I got the red which does pop. The other thing is I got an automatic and I find it does not shift right a lot of times. It is stuck in a lower gear and you have to pump the gas a little to get the gears to move so the ride is smooth again.
Aveo
This vehicle is not one I would recommend I have had so many problems with it. It has been in and out of the shop for 2 months now and that should not be happening with 5500 miles on it I purchased it in April...I do not suggest this car to anyone. They are garbage.
I loved it...at first
I had a 92 Metro that I loved. When it broke, I got a new 2005 Aveo. I thought it was cute and fun to drive. I didn't have a lot of problems at first. But in the past couple months, I had to get my lock bezzle replaced, my fan blower motor was replaced once and is back in again for the same problem, and there's a crack in my brake system (which is why I've had to refill the brake fluid 3 times in 14 months). My car has been at the dealership for 2 weeks now and I'm still waiting to get it back.
Aveos Rock
The Aveo is much more spacious than it initially looks. Even though it is the most inexpensive model, it rides very smoothly and you don't hear every crack in the road. It is the first new auto I have ever owned and I recommend it to anyone commuting or even as a first car. They are inexpensive, the insurance is inexpensive, and they get great gas mileage. They have a lot of get-up-and-go for such a small engine. I love my AVEO!!!
very good small carI drive 100 mile
I drive a 100 miles a day to work. The car does what I got it for. The mileage with out the air on is very good. With the air on, you get about 36 miles per gal. 2yrs and no problems.
Gas mileage and air conditioning bad
Truly enjoy this car, but gas mileage stinks. Only 22 mpg. AC barely takes edge off in hot weather. Took it in to dealership and all checks out. Can't complain about anything else at all. Was in front end collision and the passenger compartment had no damage at all!
Um... its ugly.
My Dad bought it for me when my 1985 Toyota pickup blew a head gasket. All of the girls at my school think it's cute, but I still say it's ugly. iI was happy to work on the Toyota till it ran again. I'm a 17 y/o girl and I pretty much hated my car until my Dad bought graphics to put on the side. So now its not as ugly, but I'm still not really fond of it. It works for going too and from school, but not for working with my horses. So it's not really all that great for a farm girl.
Anemic
Since my purchase of a 2005 Aveo, I have been greatly disappointed. I had a Geo Metro Hatchback (3 Cyl) that had more get up and go than this car with 15mpg more than what I am now receiving. The tires wore out in 25000 miles of highway driving. The A/C is marginal, and the auto- transmission is absolutely the worst. I also have a Plymouth Voyager, it gets almost the same gas mileage as the 1000lb smaller car with 2 more cyclinders to feed gas. I'm lucky to get 25 mpg in city, a corvette will get the same driven moderately. This is one of the poorest cars GM has put their badge on, period. For the same amount of money, go buy a Honda Accord or Civic.
Great car, poor A/C
I think that this car is great. Good on gas, and just enough room for me and my son. However every summer I am having A/C problems. The A/C never gets cold enough and when it does start to work I can't use the A/C adapter and air conditioner at the same time.So charging my cell during road trips are usually out of the question. Other than that the car is great. The heating system works great and no other complaints.
Wow, what a car
I love this little car. I have never owned a small car. It is fun to drive in city or highway. The engine is a bit small especially if going up hill. Good gas mileage with automatic trans. 26 city 37 highway. No problems so far after 19000. There is room for 4 big people even on long trips. The front seat is a bit uncomfortable for a big guy. I have notice driving thru snow is a little more difficult, maybe the tires and not the car.
