Used 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche Consumer Reviews
Exceptional Vehicle
I have had this '07 LTZ Avalanche for 3 days now and cannot find any faults. Chevy definitely did it right with this vehicle! The versatility is great, the appointments are beyond what I was shopping for, but I can really get used to these heated seats! The ride is very civilized for a vehicle this big. I definitely love the look without the plastic body cladding from the earlier Av's. If you are contemplating an SUV purchase, you need to do yourself a favor and drive an Avalanche, it just may sway your decision. It did mine!
Nice truck but it's a pig on gas
I had a 2007 ltz for about 2 months before I sold it... very nice truck looks sick going down the road was white and took the rims off and painted them black looked real sharp but other then the looks the truck was by far the worst vehicle I have ever owned hunt why it lasted 2 months in my hands and it was gone. She almost had 400,000 kms on it so I mean the motor goes for ever but the issues that come with a truck that high on kms isn't worth the money. Put a quart of oil in it a week as the head gaskets we're going on it. The gas mileage would drop 15kms with in a 3 minute span. Was putting in 30 bucks a day to drive 45 mins to work and back then add the quart of oil a week in there to.... I loved the looks but never again will I buy a truck. Currently got a 06 Lincoln zephyr and I have never been so happy with a car in my life

Best truck for us
This vehicle is perfect for everything we do. We travel, camp, commute to work in comfort, and just ride around town. I can fit 5 grown men in the car and my girlfriend doesn't complain that it's cold because she has the heated seats on. I want to take this truck everywhere.
"No replacement for displacement"
I now know why the 6.0 L engine was dropped on the LTZ from the option sheet. I read all the reviews posted here and no one ordered the optional engine. I drove from NYC to Florida, and from Savana GA, to West Palm beach Fla. I recorded 18 MPG with the cruise set at 77 MPH. My avalanche now has 75,000 Mi and runs very strong. It has a 4.10 rear axle and I use a K&N air filter. There is a noticeable difference in acceleration when using 87 Octane compared to 91 or higher. At speeds over 70 the engine will run in 4 cyl mode for long periods on level ground. I drive from Queens to Manhattan daily and average 13+ mpg. When driving up in the mountains of NY state I avg around 16. Bigger is better.
1300 mile impression
I bought the Z71 4WD package, and was a bit hesitant as to how the ride would be. All my fears are gone, the ride is perfect on/off road. Smooth highway driving, yet just the right amount of stiffness for some moderate off roading. This is the perfect ride for a combination of on highway and moderate off road capabilities. I got the 4.10 gears with the 5.3 engine and find it has plenty of power with nothing in tow. The Z71 2 tone interior with brushed metal trim is definitely a plus. Gas mileage will be 13-15 mph unless you drive a lot of flat freeway. The 8 cyl to 4 cyl switchover is seamless. Light throttle on level or downhill keeps it in 4 cyl mode, gauge shows 4-8 cyl operating status.
