great truck
first chevy in 40 years, boy I Been missing out on a great ride
best truck yet
I have had 3 Explorers, 1 Wrangler and 1 Durango - this is by far the best SUV that I have owned. I thought it might be too large for daily driving, but that is not the case. It's too large for my garage, but that's a small price to pay with a truck like this.
10
i bought 1 avalanche and the next day i bought another 1 for my work its a strong heavy duty car and is up to date in style ... who ever made this car thank you you made me very satisf
Good Ride
Its been everything I have expected except the Transmission! At 7000 miles I had to have it rebuilt! Now the pushbutton controls on the dash for the Transmission has a mind of it`s own occassionaly.
My Avalanche
i love everything about this vehicle. i counldn't have made a better choice than purchasing my avalanche. it's a great truck, comfortable and it' s just perfect. Greatest model ever made.
Love it
I have the truck without the BSM and I luv it!!
I Love my Avalanche!
This is my first truck and I just love it! It is so comfortable and I love never having to think twice about buying large items. When we have a group, no one ever has a problem climbing in back, it is just as comfortable as the front seat. Go with the hard cover, it is so easy to use and you can take off one section at a time. I bought mine because of my sister in-law who loves hers. She has a canvas cover which isn't as easy to work with. I definitely recommend running boards for short people, it is quite a climb and a problem with short skirts. Mileage isn't great (but good for big truck) and the huge tank can cause a shock when filling.
Looks good
We have only had the truck for 2 months but we really like it.It has a lot of power, lots of cabin room and great looks.
2nd Avalanche
This is my second Avalanche and I couldn't be happier. It is the most versatile vehicle I have ever owned. My 6 yr old loves the DVD player and I love the deal Chevrolet gave me on the trade(GM loyalty rebate).
Best Truck on The Market
It is the best truck
perfect for me
reminds me of my suburban.Handles great.Pulls the boat with ease. Great gas mileage. All in all, great truck.
Pure Excellence
This is an awesoem car for anything. Got change for a $?
SPORTY WITH COMFORTABLE RIDE
THIRD ONE SINCE THEY CAME OUT CANT BEAT EM
Love this TRUCK
I have had my truck now for a year and love it. Really like that it looks like no other truck on the market. I have had not one problem with it. Just hit 30,000 miles and feel it could triple that with very few issues. I might get the 4 wheel dive model next.
Chevy Avalanche
We absolutely love our Avalanche. The ride is so smooth and it has a roomy feeling. It takes bumps so well. We test drove an F150 4dr Super Crew and the seats weren't as comfortable and the feel of the overall truck was not as solid nor luxurious.
Best Truck/SUV on the road
I have driven pick-ups scince 1981.My 2004 Avalanche is by far the best I have ever purchased. I use it in my work, and it fits the role perfectly.
Versatile !
Always like to brag to my friends how I love this truck. They are usually very informed after talkin to me about it, I cant give it enough Kudos.... TY GM
A beautiful truck/suv
I could not be happier. It is a handsome truck with interior and outward appearance that departs from the ordinary pickup. I love it.
The Big Dog
This truck has to be THEE "BEST" truck we ever owned, and we have owned ALOT of trucks and cars due to I work at a Chevy Dealership, We named her the BIG DOG, she is great all the way around , good on gas beleive it are not, we ge LOTS of looks on here people telling us what a beautiful truck, she is Bright red, and we didnt take the amour the plastic bottom didnt like that, she has Dual exhaust, chrome running boards and her personalized bug sheild............IAM THE "BIG" DOG!!!, she just is a reall looker from every direction! And we have LOTS of fun with her and its just a great Truck all the way around.
review
I've owned a 2003 Avalance and presently own a 2004 Avalanche. I've been very impressed with quality of ride and reliability (I had the 03 in the shop one time for a click in the driver's door) and have yet to have the 04 in the shop. Versitility is this vehicle's greatest asset. It's like having a family vehicle that can be quickly converted into a pickup truck. Fuel mileage is well above average for an engine and truck of this size (15 city and 19.3 highway). The 130 inch wheelbase makes it practical for city driving and parking.
love the avalanche
love the avalanche, had a jeep grand cherokee and wasn't big enough to haul large items. this will do that and tow my boat with no problem
Great truck
A well thought out truck. Plenty of interior room and the hybrid between SUV and pickup truck was a phenomenal idea. Gas mileage is a liitle rough but still acceptable for a truck this big. The 5.3 V8 has plenty of power, it tows my 27 foot Baja performance boat with plenty to spare. I love this truck.
Great Vehicle
First week with about 200 miles on it. Sold my 2003 Dodge for a 2004 Z66 and this is quite an upgrade as far as ride and comfort. Taking $10,000 off the sticker didn't hurt either.
solid truck for the money
is a very good truck for the money, I like the fact that you can put almost anything in the bed under the cover is great, and the look without the body armor.
My truck
My truck has done well under many things towing A+ snow A+ room for the family A+ LOOKS GREAT A+
Best Vehicle Ever Owned
After driving this truck for the last couple of months, it has become my favorite vehicle ever. I have owned 8 different vehicles (Passat, Jetta, Corolla, Ranger, Grand Cherokee, 633CSI, and a Broncho) in the last 14 years, but this is my first GM product and my favorite out of the bunch. GM succeeded in making a believer out of me. Comfortable ride, easy to use gauages, and commanding view of the road as well as a very capable off the showroom floor 4x4 system. I have recommend at least test driving one if you are in the market for a new truck.
Excellent Vehicle With Lots of Utility
Extremely solid vehicle with engine performance that exceeds expectations. It handles well, especially on tight corners. The interior design is very user friendly and the BOSE sound system is far superior to any factory installed system I have ever heard.
The Avalanche is awesome!
I have an avalanche, and I love it!
Chevy's car / Truck
It is like having a truck yet the entire family can ride.. if you haul something you dont have to worry about the weahter..
Best of both worlds
My Z71 is awesome. Great power overall, very good for off-road and easy to drive on long trips. The sunroof provides another experience seldom found on trucks. The only concern I have is gas mileage, so far 15.8 mpg -not bad as some people has told me, but heavy on my pocket everytime I filled the tank. The cover cargo and non-slip mat is a plus-plus. It feels safe to go to the store, and keep shopping without worries. Great truck overall.
Avalanche For President
I just recently purchased a Chevy Avalanche. I have wanted one since I laid eyes on one for the first time. I finally was able t obuy one, so of course I got the exact one that I wanted....a Dark Blue Metallic, loaded with everything but a DVD System. I get lots of looks with it, and everyone that gets in it loves it. I have shown people the Avalanche, and most have never actually been inside one, or don't know what it does, with the drop down "midgate" which turns it into a pickup. I am a SCUBA Diver, so the Avalanche is the perfect vehicle for me, with the secured box to keep all my dive gear locked up and secure. I love the way the interior is laid out also. I can't say enough about it!
The ultimate utility vehicle
This is a great truck. It will do anything you want it to. Take the kids to church or the movies, haul supplies from the Home Depot or Menards, take your toys to the lake or out in the wilderness, you name it. The ride is super smooth and handling is excellent. Go out and buy one and ENJOY!
mine
Drives more like a large car than a truck. It's versatility is the best part
My Chevrolet Avalanche
This vehicle is a joy to drive. Backing up, especially at night, is a little bit difficult due to restricted visibility. The rear window is vertically oriented, so lights from the instrument panel tend to glare off of it further reducing visibility. I have found that I must depend heavily on the side mirrors. I still would not give up this vehicle for the world, it is an absolute pleasure to own and drive.
Love it
I have loved these since they came out and finally got one.
AVALANCHE
I'VE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY AVALANCHE.IT RIDES LIKE A DREAM, I AVERAGE 14.5 MPG CITY AND 18 MPG HIWAY WINTER DOES SEEM TO CUT ME BACK TO 13.5/16.7 RESPECTIVELY BUT ALL ELSE IS GREAT
Avalanche
Gets great mileage for a truck (about 20 mpg highway, but 18 in Atlanta traffic). Lots of room. Put the midgate down, and with a sleeping bag, the three teenagers can sleep while dad drives on long trips.
New Avalanche
Very happpy with my new Avalanche. I don't offroad, so the 2WD Z66 was plenty for me and it is very smooth. I shopped all day for a Truck, Morning for a F-150, Night for the Chevy. I REALLY tried to give the F-150 a good look. It just didn't grab me. I think the Avalanche's back end is what the F-150 was TRYING to go for. I had an 2000 Escalade 2 cars ago and this rides better than the Escalade.
Love my Chevy
I never thought I'd like the smaller bed but not once has it ever been an issue. I love the locking rear tailgate and hard cover. I go camping in the truck and simply lay down the back seat and put my pillow behind the front seats and feet out in the bed. It's secure and comfortable. I recommend the Avalanche to anyone looking for something different without giving up their truck. Believe it or not the locking boxes on the side are pretty cool too. I go boating and I also trailer motorcycles to the trails and it's a good place to store my straps and hitch. The lock too so my stuff is safe. Plenty of room for the family and plenty of power to pull my 4,500 pound boat through the hills.
Avalanche does it all
Smooth comfortable ride, stylish interior and exterior, powerful V8. I couldn't ask for more. I used to drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but was frustrated whenever I wanted to haul something tall, long, or wide. No longer a problem.
Gotta luv it!
If you drive one... everything else seems impractical. The versitility. styling and comfort are the best part of this truck. Did I meantion mods? This truck was built to modify.... do what you will. It will only make cool cooler!!
A versatile truck
Many have suggested replacing the removable glass with a rear power window that retracts into the midgate. I like the existing design. By lowering the midgate, while leaving the glass and tonneau in place, I get extra load space AND protection from the elements. I love the adjustablity of the driver's seat, especially the lumbar support. It's the most comfortable seat I own. I've owned trucks with both the 5.7 and 5.3L engines. GM claims the 5.3 has more power and better economy. That has not been my experience. The 5.7 always felt like it had more grunt and got better mileage. This truck needs both. I average 14-15 mpg. On the whole, though, a great truck.
Top Notch Avalanche
This vehicle handles great, and is very comfortable to drive. It has every feature needed to make this a top class pick up, with a taste of luxury. With its V8 and 535 HP, this truck has the power to PULL. The Avalanche has the best of both worlds all wrapped up in one vehicle...SUV/PICKUP. I give it a well deserved 10.
Big Red Avalanche
Better than I expected! The ride is very smooth and surprisingly quiet. The sun-n-fun package with the sunroof and XM radio is a must. I have 3 small children (8, 6, & 4) and they love riding in "the big red truck"!
This is wonderful
I was doubtful when I first saw the Avalanche, but after I bought it, I realized it was the best vehicle I have ever bought. Believe me, I've owned a few. It has everything I could have wanted in a truck and then some.
Avalanche in use
I bought this truck on thursday and went off roading on friday, it was a pleasure to drive and ride in, so far this has been one of my best purcheses. As for the interior I bought it with all leather that the dealership had done some where else. This is a awsome truck.
04 Ave
Worth every penny. Comforable, reliable. Great gas mileage for a full size truck. Highly recommend!
TLC
I had a Tahoe before and I needed a truck for work but, I wanted the same amount of comfort and luxury that I had before. I was able to get the best of both worlds with this vehicle. The Avalanche is an outstanding vehicle for play and work.
Great Combo
The most comfortable, good looking, safe, rides like a dream and handles that way. The best vehicle I have ever owned, Honda must think so, they copied the style for their new truck. I have not had one problem with this Avalanche.MPG is 18.1 city 22.9 HWY Thats a fact.
