…UPDATE & I’m not happy!!!
Just before the warranty expired, I needed a rear strut replaced. At 9.5k miles, I was a bit taken aback. Yesterday, I paid over $3k to have the front struts replaced at 10400 miles.., shocking!!! It a boulevard cruising garage queen that’s never seen uneven pavement and the struts are letting go at 10,000 miles?! When did Cadillac start putting such cheap parts into the car? Was considering trading for a XT6…not when the current car starts falling apart at such low mileage…When I retired, I tried to be "practical" and turned my 2011 DTS Platinum in for a new 2019 Chevy Equinox. Nice little SUV, but I never really bonded with it. I started searching for another Cadillac or Lincoln. I've owned two Town Cars in the past, so wanted to consider Lincolns again as well. Test drove the CTS, ride was too harsh for me. CT6 was great but quite pricy! Continental felt like a high end but very expensive Fusion (which I had as a daily commuter). Drove a local XTS, great ride, good value, very attractive, but not "the" car. Focused on locating and found a very low mileage certified Premium Luxury XTS AWD in my desired white/beige combo online, purchased it, and had it shipped out. The second I laid eyes on it & slipped behind the wheel...loved EVERYTHING about it! It's beautiful, excellent fit & finish, so comfortable, big yet easy to drive, and an incredible value (esp. in comparison to similar Continentals which are ridiculously overpriced). Family and friends are impressed by it but that's not why I bought it. I wanted the looks, comfort, and safety features of a large traditional luxury car. The XTS is quite a good value compared to the Cadillac CT6 & Lincoln Continental. As a retiree, pricing was a major consideration, but I don't feel I've compromised at all. Wonderful, comfortable, & stylish car that I love to drive!!!

1st Caddy and happy so far.
I bought my 2017 XTS while still under warranty (not CPO though) fora great price, in my opinion. Traded my Traverse for it. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the Traverse. In fact, it was actually a great vehicle in every way except for gas mileage. Which is why I decided to get rid of it ( if I was lucky I could get 17 mpg on the highway while using the cruise control). Driving a lot of highway miles as I do, this was getting expensive and unsustainable. Being 6’5” 250 lb, I also needed a car that was comfortable. I looked at many cars and it came down to the XTS, Impala LTZ, Passat, E350, and Audi A6 ( which I’d previously owned). I settled on the Caddy primarily due to road comfort, space, and maintenance costs. Sure, the model I got doesn’t have blind spot monitoring but I drove for 50 years without it before and it actually makes you be more aware of your surroundings as a driver. “Experts” talk about lack of road feel but I think the XTS is fine. Steering is effortless, it rides smooth, and it corners flat. Great for a car this size. CUE is okay. I’m sure the recent upgrades to the system has led to its improvement. Response is fast, display of is clear but a fingerprint magnet. My wife says the heated seats aren’t as good as our previous cars but that’s subjective. Interior room is great. My son is the same size as me and has plenty of room in the backseat. The best part, so far I am averaging almost 29mpg on the highway. Pretty good for a full sized with a 6 cylinder car these days. I’m hoping this car lasts for a long time.

Plenty of HP, traction lacking on wet payment
Very very zippy 3.6L. CUE is improved in Serveral areas. Still annoying to program. Most disturbing was the lack of traction on wet pavement. Wheels spinning all over and no traction control compared to my regular BMW 535d.

Thanks to demand for sedans driving prices lower- I was able to pick this up in May 2020- 22k miles and under $23k! 40%of sticker price as a year old model? Yes, please. 2 car seats and an adult in back- yes. Heated/cooled front seats- yes. Navigation. Smooth and quiet ride. Tons of room for everyone and a massive trunk. Driven it 10k miles in 7 months- 26mpg total. This is my commuter car- so it is nice to remote start before work and after. Passing on rural KS 2 lane blacktop- easy. Use cruise control- with such a quiet smooth ride- easy to creep up on 100mph. Since the car market went crazy- traded in- made 6k over what I paid- bought a brand new Toyota Avalon hybrid- before you think I paid over sticker- noooo- 2500 manufacturer rebate, 2000 dealer discount- and 1.69%interest. Far more safety features and 42mpg. Cadillac was still a great car- just had the chance to improve my garage.
