2000 Cadillac Escalade
Reliable, solid and comfortable ride, well designed. Great vehicle for family trips - kids have their own music in back seat, rear climate controls for flexibility. The seat warmers are nice on cold winter mornings!

GREAT Tough Truck!
Awesome truck! I bought a 19 year old one with 248,000 miles and the thing starts right up, quiet as a 4 cylinder, and drives as smooth down the road as it did new! I’ve hauled with it, gone off road, and it takes it all like a champ! I get compliments all the time on it. I won’t get rid of it, ever. It’ll be a classic next year and an antique soon after! Gas mileage is absolutely acceptable for this size vehicle and engine. A few mechanics have told me this is the most reliable model of Escalade. With the 5.7L Vortec V8, same as the Corvette. Fun to just cruise! Great on long trips!

Cadillac Escalade
The Cadillac Escalade is identical to a GMC Yukon Denali (the Cadillac of GMC). It has a suprisingly smooth ride & powerful 350 hp engine. The interesting thing is the 350 V8 engine seems to get unprecedented gas mileage - approximately 20+ mpg/highway & 16-17 city! This is pretty good for a 6,000 pound truck! The newer engines are even better on gas, they put the Ford Excursion to shame with its lousy 10 mpg!
Love it!
This is my first domestic vehicle in ten years and I do love it. It has some of the typical GM creaks and such, but nothing major at all. Also it is a bit low on power, but it is a big truck. It has been a joy to own.
One Great Vehicle
This has been one great vehicle. I bought my Escalade when it had only 6000 miles on it. It now has almost 120,000 miles on it and I have not had a single maintenance issue with it. I always get the regular routine maintenance done and as a result this vehicle is still like brand new both inside and out. I get it detailed every six months and people often mistake it for a brand new Escalade. I am going to drive it for another 10 years. I am sure it will last that long.
The best ride
you know what I've owned Chevrolet,GMC,jimmy's and they all just fall apart .Several months after my purchase of GMC, I noticed rattling noise while driving. Sometimes I think the doors are going to fly open. Not a peaceful roadtrip vehicle! ever so comfortable this truck has the power with out all noise great on roadtrips and it has every thing you need in a truck but the only thing I mite not like about the truck is it's so nice that you don't want to take it off roading .and the service that you get with a Cadillac there's no comparison .
2000 Cadillac Escalade - Best Truck!
This is the best truck that I have ever driven! I used to have a 2000 Dodge Durango, but I traded it in for my 2000 Escalade. I love the syle and how comfortable it is! It is worth every single penny.
GM/Cadillac Junk!
Most un-dependable vehicle made. OnStar problems required 6 service visits as the system keep killing the battery. Front end can't be aligned right. Water leaks required 3 svc. visitsBraking system sucks! Cadillac service and Detroit Customer Service is useless. This owner will never buy a GM vehicle again.
Great truck, Great value
I just love my 2000 Cadillac Escalade. It has great style, comfort and is very functional.
2000 Cadillac Escalade
This vehicle is a major disappointment. Ergonomics/design are horrible and quality is unbelievably bad for any vehicle, especially a Cadillac. If you don't need the size, get something more reliable and less of a headache, like a GMC Jimmy/Envoy.
Too Good to Give Up
After owning many a car including over 24 other classic autos, I've never been as happy with the comfort of this SUV. It had a few flaws in it that I've had to deal with...the CD player not working, turning the brake drums for a smooth ride, attaching the battery cables better on a side battery and a rattle that was found as a broken plastic piece in the cowl area. Small stuff for a great ride, of course, these days I wish it would have better mileage, but with it's weight and its performance it was a quality product.
Escalemmon
This vehicle was bought used with only 19000 miles - now, at 40k the bottom has fallen out. The truck has been in the shop no less than 9 times with drive train related failure (t/m, t/c, etc.).
Lots of problems from the get go
I bought this vehicle in 1999 in Colorado a few months later moved to California on my road trip to California noticed a hesitation in the vehicle took it into the Dealership under warranty couldn't find the problem. The Brakes went out on me, one thing after another I have had it 11 years finally at 10 years I was told that hesitation was the Transmission so I got that replaced. I think I have almost everything replaced even the carpet in the back because the back air was leaking. Just today I replaced the Computer because nothing was running right and it kept showing problem after problem. I could go on GM was not too helpful at all and kept insisting it was nothing. No Warranty $$ then help
Disappointed with Cadillac
The power steering was almost impossible to turn at times, the power locks did not work on certain doors, the radio stations would not come in because the TV sound kept defaulting, and the door would not close on occasion because the latch was stuck. They didn't even have the common sense to put a REAR DOOR LATCH on the vehicle so that you could get into the back when the doors are unlocked. My husband and I are very disappointed with the so- called "Cadillac". He feels that the Escalade is junk and that our GMC Jimmy was far better. We are considering purchasing the new GMC Envoy. It seems far more superior.
SWEET RIDE ALL THE WAY!!!
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST I'VE EVER DRIVEN, I HAD A CORVETTE AND TRADED IT IN BECAUSE MY 97 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WAS A LITTLE TOO SMALL, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A GREAT SUV TO DRIVE, I NEED SOMETHING BIGGER. I CAN TELL YOU THAT THIS IS A VERY SMOOTH RIDE, BOTH IN LOOKS AND RIDE OVERALL. THERE ARE NO OTHER TO COMPARE. ONE OF THESE DAYS I TRADE IT IN FOR A NEWER MODEL!!!!
Escalade is awsome
The Escalade is an awsome ride. The gas is better traveling then short distance and the back door windows you can see or no winshield wiper to clean window because it has two door. But, I love it. I like all the people staring and telling me everywhere I go that I have a nice ride. I had a Jeep and a Durango R/T model that I traded. The best on insurance because of its loaded features. Cheaper than my Durango on insurance.
Not Happy with this Car
Car has basically new tires on it. I have spent the last 3 Fridays either at the dealership or tire shop trying to figure out why the car wobbles at 65-72 mph and 30 mpn. They are going to try another set. The windows creak still and the rear end still shudders on take off.Its an ok SUV but I am ready to trade it back in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Escalade Problems
Two months after purchasing, a clunking noise started in the front end. After tearing the drivetrain apart twice, and replacing both U joints, both dealerships have given up. Dashboard was not assembled correctly resulting in large gap towards passenger side. Rear window rattles incessantly despite being repaired twice. If this is indicative of Cadillac quality, next time, I'll buy the new Suburban and live with those GM problems for $10K less!
Great Truck
Great Luxury SUV. This SUV is very powerfull, has great Leather seats, Great Bose soundsystem w/ 6 Disc Changer AND in-dash CD player. Great AUTO 4WD Feature.Great turning radius .This car does have its down sides. Barely Adequate braking. Poor Gas milage (like most other SUVs) no 3rd row seating, No Sunroof(even as an option!), so far 72k Miles and not a single problem. Very Strong and Reliable w/ great style.
Caddys=$$$
I love my escalade. It is a reliable car and I can probably use it for about three more years!!!
Great Truck
This vehicle is very reliable, 104k miles on it and runs like new. The most notable thing about this vehicle is how stable it is, note that this is an older generation SUV without stability control or other systems. It looks like it would have bad handeling given its size but it dosn't. Also the turning radius is outstanding. It does lack some key features like auto climate control and a sunroof.
My First SUV and My Wife won't share
I am the second owner of my 1999 Cadillac Escalade. It had 53,000 miles on it when I bought it and I paid $18,000 for it. It was cheaper much than a new one. I got the Cadillac luxury for a Chevrolet Tahoe price. I love the heated seats, Boise stereo, security sys, and Vortex engine. But who was the fool engineer who put the oil filter horizontally above the 4 wheel drive transfer case? Oil runs down my arm everytime I change it. I have hauled 20 bags of cement or 25 cement blocks with no set down problems. This truck has a great suspension. I had to change the front disc rotors, they worpt. Also, the front suspension rubber bumpers needed replaced. This truck tows a 20' ski boat no problem. When in 4WD the front end is jumpy. But 2WD provides a great ride. The tail gate hard for my wife to get down but its better that the double doors. I will buy a used one again...
Nice Drive & Ride
First year of the Escalade, and what you get is a lot of trim on a Yukon/Tahoe package. Very nice ride. 19mpg Hwy mileage. Not a lot of extra electronics inside, but a fine luxury presentation. The seats are great. Engine has factor specs still on compression. Considering the price of new quality, large SUV's (about 45-50k) finding an older model for about 1/3 the price is a nice find. And that is what I was looking for.
Overall Great Truck
The '99 Cadillac Escalade is a great truck. This is my second vehicle so it has way more than I was used to. But after you get used to it you can't drive in anything else. You get looks in it like no other vehicle, probably because I'm 19 years old, but thats besides the point. If I could give one bit of advice, put a chrome grille on it, that makes it look 5 years newer. I like the 5.7 Vortec engine a lot. Its acceleration is great considering the weight of the vehicle. Its 4 wheel drive is also very capable, I have tried it in sand and accelerated like I was on dry road. The Bose radio also impressed me with its volume as well as sound quality. I just added subs to give it a little extra kick. Overall I would recomend this truck.
1999 Escalade Review
Very satisfied with the performance, looks, comfort, and reliability of this car. I have driven it for 5 years and have only had routine maintenance. I hope t have it for years to come!
It did its job well
I bought this vehicle used with approximately 40,000 miles on it. I was looking for a good family SUV with some luxury. That is what I got. Gas mileage is poor, but I knew that going in. The leather seats are great, sound system is BOSE need i say more, OnStar, and a rocking entertainment system with UHF/VHF antenna on rear side windows for local programming ( you don't see that anymore). Vehicle has required some work, but nothing serious, extended warranty covered it. In the end w/gas prices and increased drive to work it has become uneconomical to own. Would reccommend to anyone with short commute.
Great Car
This is a great car. I have had NO trouble with my escalade, other than that the back windows only roll down about 5 inches. I just wish it was a little more distinctive than the tahoe
escalde
DRIVES LIKE A DREAM LUX. TO THE MAX LOW ROAD NOISE, TOWE DA CAR AND DROVE LIKE NOTHING WAS THERE. LOVE IT COULD USE SOME MINOR IMPROVEMENTS
good vehicle
this vehicle drives and rides good, classie vehicle air conditioning and heating could be inproved more comfort for each passenger
Strong SUV
Interior design and comfort is exceptional;Do not like the rear split hatch design or lock release of same;great on long trips but not a good city car other than visibility.
2000 suv wonder
good ride and high visability, classy look
Loved my 1999 and both my 2000s.
Huge fan of this GM Era (1988-1998*) trucks and these are the greatest rigs. I feel safe in it, it tows my camper wonderfully (6000 lbs.), and it is an absolute tank in the snow. What makes these better than same year Tahoes/Yukons is the front middle console layout and interior details, along with a Premium Bose Audio System, and from-factory locking 3.73 rear/front ends, and Heavy Duty Trans Cooler.

this cadillac is sugested to everyone
I love the truck, i got a steal. The gas is great on the highway but not in the city. if you can afford this truck, you should be able to pay for the gas.
Sca-lade
I have test drove a bunch of them. Getting into the SUV seems like putting on a comfortable pair of shoes.
Big bang for the buck
This is the greatest SUV I have owned. I have had a Honda CRV, Blazer, Jeep, & BMW. This is the best. Great power. All others undered powered. Cost less than others with out the options.
Not that greta
Not as great as you may think. Its a gas guzzle and rides like a truck.
J529H'S REVIEW
GREAT VEHICLE. I HAS A LOT OF POWER. NOT GREAT ON GAS IN THE CITY, BUT EXCELLENT ON THE HIGHWAY.
Nice SUV
I got a great deal on this SUV with only 10,000 miles. The warranty is good until 12/04 or 50,000 miles. What a find!.
Eye catcher
I have owned many fine cars and trucks. This truck is the very best I have ever owned. I get compliments everywhere I go. A dream to travel in, smooth, quiet and it will last me the rest of my days!!!!
2000 Cadillac Escalade is marvelous!
The seats are so comfortable. The push button 4WD is nice. The best thing is the window space. You can see all around driving this thing!
