Self Driving Super Cruise and 4 Wheel Steering

2018 Cadillac CT6 Premium Luxury 4dr Sedan AWD (3.6L 6cyl 8A)

This car has exceeded expectations in every way. There are a number of cars on the road that have some of the options...but not many in this price range are all available on one car. 1. Super Cruise option = Self Driving - hands-free on divided highways...many roads have been added...it is no longer limited to just roads with on-ramps or off-ramps. Nearly every divided highway in our area is now in the system. I recently took a 1,200 mile trip and probably didn't have my hands on the steering wheel more than 45 minutes at the most....maybe just 30 minutes....just amazing! A camera monitors your eyes...so you still have to watch the road. This option is only available on the Premium Luxury or the Platinum models...and runs about 5,000 to 6,000 more...so worth it if you plan on taking long trips. I am in my 60's and it took me all of 5 minutes to become comfortable with using this option. In some ways, it helps one stay more aware and is able adjust for traffic issues more quickly than most humans. 2. 4-Wheel Steering...how many people even know that this available on a Cadillac. This makes the car extremely nimble...easy to transition from lane to lane on the interstate with precision...better on turns and easier to park...you have to experience it to believe appreciate it. 3. Night Vision...this enables the car to see out beyond your headlights. You can even display the night vision on the dash and you can see what the car is seeing. This enables the vehicle to detect a person crossing the street before you seen them...or other such obstacle...it will warn you and assist with braking if needed. Lastly, you add other options that many cars have such as the panoramic sunroof, sunshades for the rear passengers, multi-zone climate, massage seats, incredible sound system, self parking for every type of parking space, lane assist, dual rear view mirror...works as a true mirror or operates using a rear facing camera, all wheel drive (in addition to the 4 wheel steering that turns all 4 wheels) and more. When you combine that with a quiet/smooth ride in car that handles like a sports car...just an amazing car. One has to wonder why it was not promoted more?

Last chance at a big Cadillac sedan

My wife and I have driven Cadillacs since 1987 when we bought a used 1982 El Dorado. We have owned everything including three Sedan DeVilles, a Fleetwood, three Seville SLSs, two DTSs, an Allante, an XTS and now a CT6. We bought the CT6 at the end of 2018 with 3K miles on it. Near-new Cadillacs used to be real bargains price-wise. We have driven the CT6 less than a thousand miles per month. It is an impressive-looking car in its Midnight Sky Metallic paint. It is quiet and comfortable. We don't drive aggressively so the standard 3.6 Liter V6 is okay, but I would prefer to have a V8 in my luxury car. It is much more enjoyable than the 2017 XTS Premium we owned for a year. The V6 has plenty of power but it sounds wimpy compared to the Northstar V8 in our 2010 DTS. The CT6 had zero problems for the first two years and then the transmission problem reared its head. The problem was fixed under warranty. Some irritating things about the CT6 are the too shallow trunk and a poorly placed power window switch. I can't get my rollator walker in without taking the seatback bar off and the power window switch for the driver's side front window is too far forward of where your hand rests. The result is that you mistakenly lower the rear window by mistake. Overall, the CT6 is as good as it gets for a big Cadillac sedan. Subjectively, I would say it is not as quiet or comfortable as the DTS was. Cadillac is chasing another demographic these days. I hope they don't totally forget about mature folks who want a sedan with a smooth, quiet ride and lots of style. 2023 Update. With the exception of the transmission software issue which was fixed under warranty, the CT6 has been trouble free through four and a half years and 55k miles until something broke in the drivers seat. It required replacement of the entire lower seat frame and all the motors it contains because it is serviced as a single unit. Car is driven by my wife who is a small lady. Have never had a driver's seat give out like this. With the dealers $199 an hour labor included, it cost us $1500. It took three weeks to get the part and make the repair, but the dealer provided a courtesy car (2023 XT4) at no cost. Not happy, but glad to have the quiet, comfortable CT6 back.

My 2000 Cadillac DHS had 327000 miles so I upgraded and bought this new CT6 premium luxury in 2018 with Super Cruise! Now I travel 200 or more miles at a time in complete comfort without touching the steering wheel. Last Full-Size Sedan they made. Only available NEW in China Now! 30mpg

The CT 6 is a solid car, reliable but damn expensive to own and operate. If you got the scratch, this car will satisfy the itch, but like i said, this car scratch is intense. The CT6 got that old time flair with enough modern to satisfy without looking like a glorified jukebox like how the cars look today. If I wanted a car that was a lightshow I would have gone to Vegas. If you want solid that looks and feels like, and most importantly drives like a luxury driving machine, this car will more than satisfy you.
