Used 1996 Buick Roadmaster Wagon Consumer Reviews
Oldie but goodie
I bought my Estate collector's wagon from a friend who bought the car new in 1996. I had looked a these wagonsin '96 but thought they were priced to high. I got this one for a good price and only 25Kmiles and still has the dealer plastic wrap on the folding back seats.! I've driven it to CA. twice during the past two summers. I averaged 23 mpg and didn't feel tired after the drive. The powerful engine does well for this heavy of a car and the ride, although wavey, is not bad at all. I won first place in it's class at this summer's car show!
A "HAPPY" Car
I owned a 1993 Roadmaster Wagon with 140,000 miles that ran wonderfully until it was flooded in a Hurricane. In 2024 I replaced it with the 1996 model and was quite surprised how much better the '96 performed. For a 28 year old car with only 55,000 miles, it has stood the test of time. The interior (which some reviewers years ago had maligned) has held up beautifully. The Corvette engine is a knock-out and the transmission is smooth as silk. Burns no oil. The leather is still smooth and supple, just like it was new. AC is still cold -- but did need a recharge after sitting in the former owner's garage for 2 years. Mine has the Gran Touring Suspension, which makes this car navigate corners better than most smaller cars -- it's quick and nimble. The original wood decals are still in excellent condition. I paid a premium price for this car in 2024, and it's worth every penny -- there is nothing on the road that compares today. If this car were new, it's sticker price (considering CPI inflators) would be over $75,000. These cars are super-reliable, not expensive to repair, and their value goes UP every year -- keep it well maintained and it will last a lifetime. There's one other bonus: everytime I drive the car, someone comes up to me in the parking lot or gas station and complements the car. The most common comment is "This car makes me feel happy!" I've owned some really great cars in my life, but never before had they made people smile!

As good as it gets!
I owned the exact vehicle, but light blue color, back in the day. This is the Pinnacle of Station Wagons in America. Enough Panache to get into any neighborhood or Yacht Club. It was also a "Beast" on stormy nights trying to get home in upstate New York. I wish I still had it. This one is obviously in incredible condition. Don't delay, buy it while you can!

Its called the Road Master for a Reason
This car has been the best ever! It is great for the trips all around Texas and its moved me several times....even though its got alot of miles it doesn't seem anything could stand in its way!
Big Car--Good Gas Milage--sleepr!
This big fast car gets around 17 mpg around town and 24 on the highway. Leather interior is luxurious, durable, and the air conditioning is so cold it'll make your teeth hurt. The last year for the Roadmaster is first year for this 4L60E trans--bad combonation! Other than wrestling the trans problem to the ground, owning this agile pachaderm is fun and keeps the miles off the new iron, which is leased. I will not hestitate to get another one of these after this one answers the dispatcher of That Great Junk Yard In The Sky---but next time a low-mile kitty from, say, Palm Beach or Clearwater.
