Die ultimative Fahrmaschine
This is a great car. It looks, smells, and performs very well. Getting behind the wheel, lowering the convertible top, and turning up some music, a smile cannot help but form on your face while you drive. When you need outstanding acceleration, it is there. The hard top makes for a very quiet ride when up. My wife and I love our 2018 BMW 440i convertible!

Don't buy a BMW
I bought a 2018 430I X Drive Convertible. I own a small car lot and thought it would be a fun car to drive around in the summer and it's a 2018 so what could really go wrong? Well what a terrible experience! This cars A/C hasn't worked in 3 months. The dealer said it could have been possibly caused by a rock so the warranty won't cover it. Also BMW changed the A/C system in 2018 so it is very difficult to find anyone who can charge the A/C! The water pump had to be replaced already and both tail lights now have to be replaced for condensation. If you are looking for a fun convertible for the summer DO NOT PURCHASE A BMW!

Fun, quiet, quick, easy ride.
We purchased this used, and are currently have 33,000 miles on it. This car is fun to drive, love the throaty exhaust sound, which is quiet, but still sounds powerful. Be careful the first time you kick the turbo in! On the road, it's quiet due to the hardtop. Suspension is slightly stiff, but not uncomfortable. On a drive to Florida, we averaged 32-34 mpg, calculated. There is plenty of room for adults in the front seat, but the back seats are not adult friendly. If you want to travel with the top down, be prepared to have your luggage in the back seat, the hardtop storage requires a ton of trunk space. Opening and closing the top is fairly quick, but only works at a much lower road speed than our previous other brand soft-top convertible. As has been the case with all 3 all-wheel drive vehicles we have owned, the car takes more attention to control the slight "wander" typical of all-wheel drives. The controls are laid out pretty well, but console storage is pretty small, and about any travel mug you use makes contact with the dash while in the cup holder. Love the heads-up display. It does make driving our other car seem ancient, since it doesn't have the heads-up display. The one big criticism I have of this car is the ventilation system. The center vents have a wheel control to adjust the output temp of that vent. Just the slightest adjustment of the wheel makes a significant temperature difference in the output. Most of the flow seems to come from the center. Also, the car doesn't seem to have a true fully automatic temp control, as unless I change the fan speed manually, regardless of how significant a change you make in the temperature, the fan stays at the current setting. You have to frequently change the fan speed to stay comfortable. All in all, this is a fun car to drive, the mileage is tremendous for as big as it is. Despite my dislike of the ventilation system, I would consider the same model when it's time to trade this one in.
