Great car with all the fun to drive as expected by BMW. handling is outstanding power is good, not as snappy as my wrx but smoother. drives like on rails in all road conditions.

I purchased a certified manual 5-speed 1999-328i with 30,000 miles, in Jan 2002. Dealer installed new brakes pads and rotors, gave me 4 winter tires/rims/wheel covers, CD changer, refurbished 17" alloy wheels, paid 2/3 of the bill on new 17" Bridgestone Potenza S-03 performance tires, and warranty until April 2005/80,000 miles. The car had amazing handling even with the 16" michelin alpin winter tires. Now that I installed the 17" alloy wheels with S-03 performance tires, I can take the car on a twisty road at speeds 70-90 mph in complete confidence. I have been driving japanese cars for 20 years, and never got this enthusiastic about a car.

I was in hell during the initial part of the test drive... you know when the dealer has to drive it off the lot. I couldn't wait to take the wheel, and when I finally did, I fell madly in love with the performance and handling. I love everything about this car. Although the symbols on the interior controls take some getting used to, I find them very easy to use after a couple of months together. My wife gave what I feel is a great compliment when she said it was "easy to drive." It takes care of the mundane things and keeps me safe, yet it doesn't over think for me. I still have control.

I just got this car last month with 42K miles. I got it for $21,000.00 at a Mercedes-benz dealer here in Los Angeles. Put in a 19" ACS wheel wraped in a Perelli tires, Starge III H&R Springs, Clear Corners and Red/Clear Taillamps. So far the car is running great, love that 5spd!! Only problem was the engine light went on one week after i bought the car. took it to a BMW Dealership and got it done free of charge..the problem has something to do with some sensor at the engine.

It's what you'd expect from BMW. Outstanding build quality, great gas mileage, fun to drive, and reliability. Bought it used in 2003, and was very impressed. Great styling inside and out. With a little more power, this BMW would be perfect!
