2025 Audi S6 Sportback e-tron

The 2025 Audi S6 Sportback E-tron is an all-new all-electric sedan, representing a sportier version of the A6 Sportback E-tron, which debuts alongside it. As is typical for any Audi with the S designation, it has more power and sharper handling than its A-branded sibling. While we're talking about naming conventions, these are both Sportback models, which in Audi-speak means a hatchback. Most carmakers have concentrated on offering electric SUVs, but we're glad that Audi is keeping sedans in its lineup to satisfy drivers seeking performance without compromise.

All versions of the A6 E-tron and S6 E-tron have a launch control mode that briefly increases the maximum output. With up to 543 horsepower on tap, the dual-motor S6 handily outpaces the dual-motor A6 E-tron's 456 max output and the single-motor version's 375 hp. That results in a claimed zero-to-60 mph acceleration time of 3.7 seconds, compared to the A6's 4.3-second estimate (5.2 seconds with the single motor). The S6's range estimates aren't as high as its siblings', but the EPA says it can travel up to 324 miles on a charge, and that should be plenty for most drivers. Thankfully, comfort should be comparable to the A6 since the S6 comes standard with an adaptive suspension that allows you to choose between a docile or sporty ride.

The S6 E-tron competes against the sportier versions of other midsize electric sedans. These include the Mercedes-Benz AMG EQE and BMW i5 M60. Both are impressive performers in their own right, but the Audi S6 E-tron has a significant advantage with regard to range.
