3rd Q5 in the family!

I love the new design, and revamp of the engine. it drives smoother, zippier, and more fun through the canyons of LA. The tech is incredible versus the competition. the build quality and fit and finish is second to none in the segment. I checked out the X3 and the GLC. X3 is a great driving car, but lacks the fit and finish and tech. the GLC is just an awful "cushy" ride and tech is old. I am looking forward for this 3 year lease.

Somewhat disappointed in 2018 Q5 and in Audi

I bought this car and 2 days later sent it back to the dealership because is was rocking from side to side and 85% of the time I was leaning to the right. They kept the car for 8 days while they went through protocol with Audi to fix the problem. In the end, it was the steering. I kept saying it was a brand new car and not functioning and they should give me another one. NO WAY! I still believe it rocks right to left more than it should but I'm assured that it's normal The car has many nice features but I miss my Lexus RX350. It's definitely not a smooth ride and it rocks left and right. The navigation system is too busy. Many of the features I love, The radio and the steering controls are great. I love the safety features that tell me when a car is in my blindsight and help me to park and back up. The visibility is excellent! Maybe I'll feel differently after driving this car for 6 months and when me Lexus is out of sight and out of mind.

Wanted to give it all 5’s

Having a problem with the sport heated/ventilated front seats in 2018 Q5. The drivers seat doesn’t heat much at all- dealer measured it at 88 degrees. The passengers goes to 95, still very poor. The service tech at Audi dealer initially said those numbers were “within spec”. After further discussion, they agreed to bring it up with Audi rep, who said this is an emerging concern with Audi and the engineers in Germany were working on it. No one will give me a timeframe on a fix, which I’m told is just a software code update. Very frustrating, brand new luxury vehicle should deliver what you pay for.

Not a typical cookie-cutter SUV

This SUV has a higher starting price than most commonly seen SUVs on the road. However, when you take into consideration all comparable features (which I did), the price will be almost the same. Audi has phenomenal 0-60 push, which I have not experienced on comparable Acura or Lexus. The cabin is very quiet but you still feel the necessary connection with the road. Per oother reviews, I was expecting a steep learning curve operating the controls, none necessary. You can spend hours reading the manual or apply logic while operating the controls and check the manual, when necessary. Once you figure out one function, the rest follows. The visibility is great, I am only 5'3" and have no issues backing up without using the camera (not possible in Lexus 350 or Acura RDX). I have not had a chance to drive it in the snow yet, so I cannot comment. So far, the MPG is not bad for stop and go driving in the city. My vehicle is equipped with sports seats, they are not as soft as the regular seats and may require initial adjustment but provide great support. I am happy with the purchase. Edit: I have had my Audi Q5 for over six months now, with five thousand miles driven. I noticed that the best fuel economy is obtained on a highway at about 60-70 mph speed (28 mph). Overall, the average 23-24 mpg combined. I am nicely surprised how fuel efficient the vehicle is. On another note, the turbo lag is rather noticeable. It is still at less than a second, however, that is a second too long. So far, this is my only complaint about the car. It makes quite unhappy warning noise when I get into tight spots, however, I welcome the warning. It is better to be safe than sorry. The premium sound was really worth the extra cost, it is very powerful. To recap, super fuel economy on a vehicle that has powerful (for an SUV) boost of speed and acceleration, despite the turbo lag I mentioned earlier. The sports seats are very comfortable and adjustable to all sizes and types of riders. It is nice to be able to connect both apple and a smartphone. I have received many compliments on the vehicle, the red exterior stands out nicely from the crowd and the ride is extremely quiet. Breaking and acceleration are very good, as expected. I noticed that I am able to make somewhat tight turns at the same speed I would as if I were driving a car, the Audi seems to take care of the cornering and balance by itself (although, I am sure there are some well thought out solutions supporting the ease of cornering). Overall, I am very happy with my Audi. Knowing what I do now, I would buy it again.

Noisy Q5

If you are interested in buying a Audi Q5, take it on the freeway for along test drive. My vehicle front end is very noisy. Service adviser went on a test drive with me and he said it is the highway. They will not admit that it is the noisy vehicle. I'm sorry I bought this vehicle. I will not advise anyone to purchase a AUDI ever.
