Used 1999 Audi A6 Sedan Consumer Reviews
A6 Sedan Too Many Repairs
Very poor build quality for a $35,000 car. Does not compare in quality to my Acura 3.2 TL-S and lacks standard features found on comparable cars. Audi repairs: replace gas gauge, replace digital dash, replace door hinge, rebuild driver's seat, replace rear seat back latches, front grill inserts fell out. Overall bad value for the money. Audi is not a quality builder of cars.
Looks Nice...Falls apart
What a shame...I loved this car for the first two months...Thats when the problems started. I had it at the dealership 5 times in 10 months. Anyway, not reliable and Audi was overall indifferent to the poor quality. BEWARE

nice "looking" car
I love the interior. Heated steering wheel, front and rear seats. I only have 38,000 and the front stunts squeek. I had to change the water pump and thermostat $700 and the front fight CV boot $200 in less than a year. Seems like there would be a warranty for this type of vehical but nope 3 yr 40000.
Can't ask for more
My previous car was a BMW 325i (E36). I bought the A6 in '99 after we have our second child to have more room. Comparing to the BMW, the A6, I has more room, comfort, luxury less sportiness. This is my third year owning the car. I've only experienced one problem. The steering got stiff. That was fixed under warranty. The Quattro is tremendous. I live in the hilly area of Portland, Oregon, where they don't salt or sand the roads when it snows. The A6 have no problem making it through the hills, even with stock tires. My 3 year lease is up next month. I will buy the A6 because I like it so much.
Fix the electrics!
My 1999 Audi A6 Sedan is fun to drive, but is slow off the line unless you use the tiptronic shifter in first gear and stomp on it. The ride is soft for hard driving but very comfortable. The power options crap out and nit pick you too death. Basically I like the car though.
