Audi has Finally Impressed Me
After test driving much of the competition, I test drove the Audi A4 Quattro and never looked back. The handling, interior luxury, and overall experience is unmatched by any of the others. While it may not have the name brand appeal of BMW/Mercedes, It is twice the car none-the-less. Audi = Attention to Detail!!! Audi just needs to Market more. Never even seen a commercial.
Certified 2006
I picked up a 2006 A4 2.0T with all the bells and whistles and I love it. It handles wonderfully, it wants to be driven fast and in tight spots. I have wanted an A4 since the 2005.5 was introduced. The style and comfort make me smile everytime! I finally enjoy driving everyday. I will never drive a two wheel drive vehicle again (I live in Michigan).

My 3.2 Avant
The Avant A4 3.2 "S" Line looks like a normal wagon but it handles like a sports car, specially on a rainy day, it becomes another car with the traction control and Quattro (AWD) makes you feel secure.
Better than BMW
I have a 2006 BMW 530i with manual and sports suspension. Lots of zip. My wife has an A4 with 2.0 turbo and automatic. Truth be told, I take her car on the weekend whenever I can. Handling is about as good as the BMW and I find the BMW more fun to drive. I prefer the interior and exterior styling more and the AWD is better in bad weather. Interior is a tad smaller but for the two of us the car is purrfect. My next car will be an Audi - probably with a 6 cylinder. Overall, the Audi is more.
My A4
I had been looking at the A4 for 2 years before I made my first purchase. It has been an overall positive experience and I highly recommend the vehicle to any consumer.
Love our A4
I got an A4 2.0T with a premium package in Red for my wife in March 06 as a replacement for her 93 Ford Escort which she loved and hated to give up. However, after a week in the A4 she stopped talking about her Ford. Her only problem with the car is getting me out of it so she can drive it. The dealer was excellent and Im bringing it in for the first 5,000 service. This was our first Audi, but will not be our last.
2006 A4 2.0T
Pleasurable drive, superior standard engine, a great deal compared to a BMW 325i, and in addition it gets better fuel economy (25 city/ 32 highway) than a 3-series. What more could you ask for?
Flawless at 15,000 Miles
Mechanically there have been zero problems. The car has performed nicely. Last week, pulling into an intersection I was within three meters of being broad sided by a car running through the red light at high speed. I punched the gas pedal and the car's AWD gripped the road allowing the 2.0 Liter Turbo to haul me out of harms way, permitting the other car to screech around and behind mien Audi. My life, or quality thereof, was saved by this car.
2006 A4
Awesome ride! Car drives beautifully. Awesome control in bad weather which gets better in good weather. Excellent interior quality. Turbo really makes the car jump. Low-end torque is very good.
One year and 22,000 miles later
I've had my A4 now just over a year and have put 22,000 miles on it; half of which were driving back and forth fom DC to NY in lousy winter weather. The car is so good, the only reason I will ever own another is if and when I splurge on an S4. I had heard mixed reviews about the last generation of A4s reliabilty. Well, I have not had a single problem. Handling, traction, steering and control are out of this world. I often travel and end up renting other cars; it's amazing how less secure I feel in them compared to the A4.
Best car I've owned
This car handles like no other car I've ever owned. I live in Alaska and I've driven it 400 miles in a blizzard with no traction problems whatsoever. For that reason alone, this Audi is worth every dollar I paid for it. It will go fast and then it will stop on a dime, even on glare ice. Amazing! The only problem I've had is that the engine coil was defective and had to be replaced during the first month (um, minor detail). I have read a lot of comments about the parking brake, cupholder, and armrest configuration. For me this has been only a minor inconvenience but it would be nicer not to have to move the armrest. All that notwithstanding, I love this car. It is so much fun to drive!
I Love This Car
I have the 2.0 Quattro with a 6 spd and every option offered at the time. This car is a lot of fun to drive and certainly has more than enough power. Rock solid in the curves, even at high speed. The new 2007 navigation update made some changes to the radio that I am not crazy about. My car has 15,000 miles and is still a great ride. Just traded it though on a 2007 2.0 cabriolet. I have had many Audi cars going back to 1974 and they get better all the time.
One of the BEST
I did a lot of research on BMW, Lexus, Audi and US models. Settled on the Audi because of the quattro system, performance, and build quality. I have owned the vehicle for one year with no issues and it is still exciting to drive, outstanding on snow and ice. You can't go wrong on this one.
Great overall, Minor Defects
My audi is fun to drive, quick. I got the titanium pkg and it looks great. The features are awsome, Bluetooth, adaptive HIDs , etc etc. The AWD is great. Driving in harsh rain is a breeze. Automatic dimming mirrors and wipers is a lovely feature. The seats are so comfortable and the leather is of high quality.
2006 Audi A4
The 6 spd transmission and the 2.0L engine are totally made for each other, I am getting 37 mpg (7.6L/100km) with commute type driving, which is far better that I expected. I traded an 06 Jetta TDI for this, which would give me 6.2L/100km (45 mpg). But now that diesel is $1.06/L and regular is $.94/l, (yes you can run 87 octane) my cost per KM for fuel is only 2 cents more and I get killer traction with Quattro and Hakapelita that defies description. The car needs more little storage places like the Jetta and an arm rest that can be used along with two cups of Timmy's in the holder. This is a driver's car, and worth every penny.
Awesome!
My 2006 A4 exceeded my expectation. Great pick-up, terrific handling, oustanding standard Audi symphony sound system. This is my third A4 and the very best experience of all!
Fun To Drive
I have owned this car for 4 weeks, and put over 2000 miles on it. 1600 of those on a road trip up the California coast. We had a blast driving this car, and got lots of comments and looks from admirers. Its a sport car, handles very well, and is very fast. The steering is unbelievable. You can make a u turn almost anywhere. Another neat thing about Audi is you can modify your car as much as you want. There are many companies that specialize in custom upgrades. You at least need to test drive this car if you are considering it. It's a great car.
Amazing Auto
I'm an American living in Germany. The Autobahn is made for driving. The A4 is made for the Autobahns. Plenty of power, the new 2 litre turbo has more than enough power. Handling, when you get on the mountain passes, you really need it. Thats something that my SUV did not have. I would recommend this car to anyone.
This car is worth its price tag
When I went out to buy a car I had a acura TL in mind and not an audi. Both cars were equipped with same features but after driving both cars the audi just felt better. Although the acura had more horses, the 2.0T felt like it had more power at 200 probably because of awd. Overall the audi was easier and more fun to drive and worth its price tag.
My First (but not last) Audi
I had to choose between a 06 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT and an 06 Audi A4 6MT Q. I test drove both and fell in love with this car! Mine is a Black with Ebony interior, Premium package, Tech package with Bluetooth, S-line package, and a sunroof. Drive is very stimulating, handling is extremly responsive (the S-line is well worth it if you are not going to mod the car), power is plentful with lots of torque for a small engine. Brakes are adequate with great stopping power. The 2.0t has virtually no turbo lag. It feels as strong or stronger than the older models 3.0 V6 (but with much better fuel economy). Definitely get the Quattro. I live in San Diego and the twisties are amazing with AWD.
The A4 has grown up
I just traded in my 1999 1.8T (manual) A4 Avant for a 2006 2.0T with an automatic transmission. They feel like 2 different cars and I love them both. The 2006 feels more luxurious and adult-like, but it isn't a floaty car. I feel a tad more removed from the road in the new one but it handles like a dream. It is a blast to drive on twisty, hilly roads. It feels so solid too and the brakes are amazing. I hear the new A3 drives like my old A4. That makes sense.
Fast and Smooth
First, the gearbox in this car is amazing... flawless shifting! This car is all about the driver, giving an excellent drive that is fun, fast and smooth. The quattro allows for quick, stable handling, especially at high speeds, that is superior to anything else I have owned.
Excellent sedan
Car has plenty of speed and pickup for a small engine due to the turbo. Handles well and provides a very comfortable ride. Smooth shifting and excellent braking. Interior is clean but don't choose the brushed aluminum; it sometimes reflects sunlight right into the eyes of the driver. A little narrow inside and wouldn't do well for very large drivers. Trunk space is adequate. Plenty of extras to go around. The new navigation system is fantastic with an incredibly good interface. Location of Nav DVD is behind the LCD instead of trunk. Changer is in glovebox, very easy to access. There are two smart card slots (wish it played more than just mp3s, maybe audiobooks as well). Fantastic value.
A Dramatic Improvement
This is my fourth Audi. I had a A4 Avant with the 2.8 V6, a A6 with the 2.8 and the A6 2.7T. The 2006 A4 2.0T is the best so far. I ordered it in Red with Tan interior with the Sport Package, Technology Package (Bluetooth Phone connection), Navigation, Bose Stereo (with XM Sat) and Xenon lights. The new 2.0T makes the V6 an uneccessary option. It has tremendous torque with little if any spool up and the 6 speed Tiptronic is flawless and fun to drive either fully auto or in manual mode. Great engine sound and terrific gas milage. I have been getting 22-24 around town and 30 MPG on the open road. The brakes are excellent with solid stopping power.
My 4th Audi
This is my 4th A4. It is by far the best of the lot. Even though the engine only went from 1.8 to 2.0 liters, the performance seemed to increase by a much larger percentage. The acceleration is excellent. The change to the 6 speed transmission is a great feature. The upshifts are seamless and there are no discernible shifting lags. The GPS is easy to use and not difficult to learn. My last Audi A4 was good, this one IS GREAT.
Gotta love it
I obviously can't rate its reliability or build quality yet but I am loving this car inside and out. I had only 2 cars on my list an Acura TL and the 06 Lexus IS250 Awd(comes out 16 oct). Test drove the TL and really didnt get the "gotta have it feeling" well by chance I caught a glimpse of a ocean blue pearl A4 at the Audi dealer and decided to test drive. This was the longest test drive I ever took and had to have it. I actually waited 1 week as not buy on impulse but decided no need to wait for the Lexus if I love everything about this car. It feels so solid and smooth. The cabin is comfortable and beautifully laid out. I'm only 5'8 so no problems for me with driver side. We love our A4.
A4 CVT
Build quality is very good. I bought mine first and wife then bought a red one. The most fun part is the CVT, but after you own it, the CVT is also the hard part to enjoy. It is not a regular transmission, feels odd on initial start up. Gets excellent economy and is very fast with the Turbo.
Very fun for a "station wagon"
What a great car! I gave up a '98 528i for the Avant... The ride is a bit stiffer than the 528i. Not a major problem.
So far so good
Maybe it's too soon to offer this, but I'll do it anyway. Picked up the A4 2.0T this week. It's an amazingly comfortable car. The ride is very smooth, and the engine noise is almost pleasant. I've taken it pretty easy so far, but the one time I went for a little speed the car responded nicely. I got the nav system and the display is really nifty, but it's also a little distracting.
Great for Wisconsin weather
This car is great for driving in snow and very snappy weaving through busy traffic. I can't wait to try the S4.
A4 2.0T 6SpMan - Best in class
Had a 2001 A4 1.8T Quattro; recently upgrade to '06 A4 2.0T Quattro S-line with manual 6spd tranny. Awesome car, fantastic handling and ride control. Try driving with the ESP off - it puts the cars outer limits back in your control.
All around value
I had a 98 Passat with the 1.8T. After putting 165K miles on that car I knew the 2.0T would be a winner. I wasn't wrong. For all around handling, interior comfort, looks, luggage space and performance, you would be hard pressed to find a better value. The car is glued to the road and handles slippery weather. I chose this car based on these factors: MPG, all wheel drive, golf club fit sideways in trunk, safety, handling, fun, looks. No other AWD car has the balance of these and the price of the A4.
Tight and Slick
Great ride....excellent acceleration with the tiptronic. Tight handling and quick responsive shifting. Very comfy and slick redesign for the 06. Worth every penny.
Vastly Underrated!
This car is underrated, even by myself! I always loved audis but never seriously considered getting one. This is my first one and boy is it fun! I have the Sunroof package and Premium package. The price is just right, the amenities are perfect, for 35k you simply cannot do better. They say it's 7.1secs/0-60mph, but I would think its definitely in the high 6's. Its fast, extremely fun and sexy looking, that's the bottom line!
The A4 won me over
I walked into the Audi dealership on a whim; up to that point I was looking primarily at the new 3-series, the G35 and the IS 250. Without question the A4 has the most functional, egonomically-pleasing and well put together interior in the class. In fact, the A4 feels like it is in a higher class than theother cars mentioned above (particularly the G35 and IS 250), which shows that brute force only goes so far. I test drove both the 2.0T and the 3.2. I went with the 2.0, which performs like most 6s and so far is averaging about 30 MPG (I commute approximately 70 miles total each day). If reliability holds up Audi has earned my repeat business.
All round great wagon.
Wanted a wagon that had style and performance. The update added a brand new engine (soon to be found on the new Jetta) and the car comes with a great set of luxury features. Added Premium and Cold Weather Packages, and 17 inch wheels.
What's NOT to LOVE??
This is my first Audi and I love it. I don't see myself ever buying a different make or model. The pick up for a four cylinder is UNMATCHED by any other vehicle. I've been getting over 30 miles a gallon. The heated seats are amazing and the braking system is even better than the volvos. The A4 handles like a much smaller vehicle, the trunk room is huge.
Great Car - Better than expected
Just a few hundred miles on my car, but I love this thing. This is my first Audi. Also looked at the IS, TL, G35 & 325i. Have been more of a BMW guy in the past, expected I'd like the 325 better, but after driving 325i, it was no comparison, not as refined. AWD is very nice in corners, perfect balance of comfort and sportiness w/o sport package, wonderful interior quality, and the outside looks are great (love that front end). High 20 MPG even with hard driving. My biggest gripe on the car is the rough idle which is on all 2.0T cars I test drove. Dealer says it's the direct injection. It would be nice for the auto shifter to look a little better, less "Passat." A/S tires lack performance.
Amazing Machine
Excellent control and styling. Manual, Premium, Sports, Cold Weather, Sunroof, Tech packages. My first Audi, but not my last. Very clean interface and a pleasure to drive. If you're looking for a 0-60 straight line car this isn't it, but if you want to take a few turns after you hit 60 and above then this is your car. Took a road trip to WV just to drive some curves and the car was simply amazing. At low speeds (sub 40) it does well, but the car is in its element above 60. Test drove w/ & w/out sports suspension. Be warned it's very smooth w/out it, but you'll feel more of the road w/ it. Only worth getting the sports suspension if you plan on driving it hard, I'm glad I have it.
Very First Audi
My last car was a 318ti BMW, which was so much fun to drive, that I thought for sure I would buy another BMW. The RWD BMW was nearly impossible, though, in our Wisconsin winters, so I went in search of a performance car that could also handle snow and ice. Also, I was making the move from manual to automatic, reluctantly, worried I would lose out on performance. The Audi A4 Quattro was the perfect choice. The Tiptronic is the automatic option for those who'd rather drive a stick. AWD bites onto the road, even in slippery conditions. (I'll let you know when the snow hits.) Interior is beautiful: tan leather w/birch wood trim... I can't wait to drive to work everyday! Love this car!
A pleasure to drive
I knew right away after a test drive that the Audi A4 3.2 was the car for me. I have around 3,000 miles on it so far and I am very happy with it. I just purchased mounted winter tires from the TireRack and am eager to test out the Quattro this winter here in Cleveland.
Awesome A4 2.0T Quattro S Line
This is truly an awesome car. It is a blast to drive the 6 speed manual on the country roads over here. Today I went for a drive and enjoyed 35MPG. Responsive engine, German engineering and handling for a reasonable cost. Can't beat it!!! Oh... I forgot to mention we can buy 98.6 Octane petrol here (Shell Optimax) and that can't hurt.
An excellent compact sport sedan.
Have been driving the car for over a month already. Handles extremely well (great steering feel) and the 4- cylinder turbo engine provides more than enough performance while keeping fuel costs at a minimum. Don't know yet how reliable the car is since its new so can't comment on that.
My A4
If you want a car that gets noticed, is fun to drive, handles great, has a beautiful interior and just makes you feel good, then check out the new 2006 Audi A4. I have the 2.0T Quattro. The car is quick as a whip and the all wheel drive makes you feel glued to the road. Handles great in the rain and secure in snowy weather. All I can say is way to go Audi.
Like it more each day.
Quattro with premium and cold weather packages. Silver with black interior. First time Audi driver. Love the agile performance of the 2.0T. It's almost too easy to get to 80 mph... the ride is so smooth. Rock solid cornering and responsive handling. I'm 6'4" and have been most surprised by how comfortable I feel.
Audi has created a perfect engine: 2.0T
I swore to myself---after I graduated from college---that I'd never own another 4-cylinder car. I was driving my second Volvo, an S80 T6 when I ordered my 2005.5 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Sedan 6-speed. I did it because I worked for the Audi dealership at the time, and had grown tired of getting stuck in the snow with the Volvo (even with snow tires). I can honestly say that I have never loved a car as much as my new Audi. It is so much fun to drive... a 10 minute drive to the store ends up taking 40 minutes, as I have to sample every winding road in my new car. This car is a lease, so I'll have to be careful to not go over my mileage. Speaking of... I am getting almost 35 MPG highway/28 MPG city.
BMW Guy Loves A4
Last 2 cars were BMWs. The 528i was so elegant, but I saw my service advisor more than I saw my wife. The 330ci was awesome, but pricey. Looked at the new 325 which drives great but the interior & exterior design left me cold. Checked out the 2005 Audi A4 1.8T which was noisy and underpowered and was so pleasantly surprised when the new 2.0T came out. The 2.0T together with the 6 speed tiptronic is awesome. It is MUCH less expensive to lease than the 325, as much fun to drive, and you get more features like quattro and Bose. The black on black looks sharp and is very comfortable. The tiptronic is smooth and powerful. The car is fast and handles beautifully.
Hotttt!!!!
I just traded in my 2005 A4 (old body style) for a new 2.0T fully loaded. Much better purchase. This thing flys, and handles so much better than my old 1.8T. The packages available deliver a much needed update to the technology in the cabin and out. I bought mine fully loaded (I guess I was desperate for features after the bland 2005) with the tech package, nav, bose, sirius... Everything works and it's quick to figure out. I love the new engine, it has pep, and is well balanced to a heavy body. Really fun around the sweeping esses, especially in bad weather with quattro! Buy one, it's worth it!
New Audi Guy
Just purchased my A4 and I love it. Driving in Sport mode is an absolute blast, the car takes off like a rocket. The fuel efficiency is pretty good so far too, which is a pleasant surprise. Everything on the car is tight and the ESP (electronic stability program or some such) keeps the car going straight. With the scheduled maintenance (first 50K miles) included in the car is a great value for the money.
Great A4
I enjoy cycling and skiing, and spend a lot of time on weekends driving to pursue my interests. Things that are very important to me are: good all weather capability, fun to drive, room for all my gear, and fuel economy. After exhausting myself with test drives and research, I narrowed the field down to BMW X5 3.0 and the A4. I went with the A4, and admit that it was a very tough decision. After a few months of ownership, the A4 has exceeded my expectations in all areas. Truly a great car, my first Audi, but not my last!
