A *nearly perfect car
I purchased this car w/ 44K and now have 79K on it. You can't beat the tasteful, subtle but sporty styling and the interior design and quality is impeccable. Apart from the lack of power (170hp in a 3400lb car just can't compare to its rivals in terms of acceleration), but the quattro all-wheel-drive system all but makes up for it in the twisties and it moves like a much lighter, more balanced car. Like almost all 1.8T owners I've had to replace my coil packs (I opted to upgrade to aftermarket Hitachi plugs instead of the OEM versions). A new clutch was also required at 75K, but that may have been due to the previous owner's driving style. I love my car and will drive it until it's dead.
A4 is way better than a 330i
Complements is what you get from this car. Once you start to drive this car off the lot you will notice the extreme smoothness of the engine and transmission. Not to mention the handling is a true pleasure. I have really tested this car out now for the past six months and I have been able to keep up with M3s on the 110 between downtown and Pasadena. In the LA rain you have the full confidence of Quattro and stability control. If you havent ever driven Quattro in the rain, well youre missing out on some serious traction. The upgraded Bose system is so crisp and ear piercingly loud. People who know cars buy Audi who dont buy BMW.

Great!
Wow! This car is great! Great perfomance, great handling.
Great car, but why a cassete player?
Great car! I just wonder why they put a cassete player in this car. It does not make sense. It has been like 3 years I've seen a cassete tape for the last time. If you have money to buy this car, having a cd should not be a problem. Audi should offer that as an optional for those that want a 2004 car with with a 1970 audio system. Overall great!
A4 1.8T Wagon Practically Rocks
This practical yet fun to drive wagon is the best of both worlds. The 1.8T engine with Auto/Manual mode has a lot of giddyup and when you're cruising on the highway, I've gotten as much as 33 mph! Put the 2nd row seats down and the cargo space is awesome. I get some looks when I load the stuff in there. This Audi is so much more reliable than the Lexus IS300 Sportcross I had. Only 1 10,000 mile checkup vs. 6 times into the shop for the Lexus. (So much for the passionate pursuit of perfection) Audi uber alles!
