not impressed
the worst 33 thousand i've ever spent on a new car. it may be fun to drive by the costs of repairs alone will burn a serious hole in your wallet.
Good buy
Bought my A4 two years ago, and bought an extended warrenty. I had the turbo replaced under warrenty- I was happy to have it. The AWD is great for Michigan winters, and the rust protection seems to be very good. I plan on keeping this car for a while.
Great Mountain Car if you can afford it
I love this car! I bought it used at 85k miles and have a 117000 now. It's smooth, good pep- not a barn burner, but adequate. The naturally asperated FI V6 is very nice. The car is solid like a Benz and has a strong hint of Porche in it. It's a cat in the snow. The wheels never spin-never! I recently bought a 2004- I like it even more! Repairs are expensive- It's cheaper to lease a new one covered in warranty, then to keep pouring big bucks into the old babe- Nothing lasts for ever...
'97 A4
It's been a good daily use car. The car feels solid, however at 60k+ it's getting a couple minor rattles. The dealer's costs for repairs are excessive, this is the only reason I may not buy another one. When the car is cold it's slugish, but it warms up quickly. I would probably spend the extra money for the V6 next time. However the 1.8T is a great 4 cyl.
Brilliant
I bought this car after its 11th birthday, It had a very hard life before I bought it. But a bit of TLC took care of that. Even though I spent a lot of money on her, What she ended up costing me in total was still a bargain. I would rather have looked at a newer model if I could afford one, But the fact is it has served me well and will continue to do so.
